Is Amit trained? During the piano round, he said that his one weakness was that he wasn't formally trained. Maybe he took vocal classes. 😕
This yr, II3 featured a lot of untrained singers.

I thought he mentioned that too...
I don't think it matters because the Janta should choose whoever they like listening the most too...I can't tell really (when I listen to someone) whether they have received it or not.
Also, it's not right to factor in training in this competition because it's like saying people with training are more superior to those without it.
I have the same doubt. In some interview Amit mentioned that 'I have not undertaken any special vocal training'. That means he is not a trained singer. Still I feel he is the most deserving.
Saying someone is superior cos they have training isn't right but the training does matter to some extent. Despite not being formally trained, Amit is still a favorite to win by many and his past performances play a role in that. I won't mind if he wins. Moreover, I'd like to see him win.

Janta does select winners who appeal to them trained or untrained doesn't matter. Last year janta chose Sandeep Acharya over Karunya because former appealed to them.

to some extent yeah but can the entire voting janta differentiate between the two? I seriously doubt that.
this whole training thing is quite prejudiced...basically, you (not you, people in general) are saying that only someone who has been trained is fit to win the competition even though someone like Amit, who hasn't received formal training, is so much better than everyone else.
Well, I agree, we can't just say someone who isn't trained shouldn't win. I wasn't talking about votes (many factors go into that) but just performances in general. Last season, most people felt the best singers were Amey and Karunya. I doubt anyone in II3 could attempt some of the songs the two attempted. With some songs, classical training shows. Meenal and Antara were considered the best of II2 too. All were trained. But so was Ravi Tripathi but he is considered by some, one of the worst singers of II2. So training doesn't necessarily equal great singer. And there are cases when classically trained singers cannot sing lighter songs well enough. Song choice plays a role here.
