Comfort Zone vs Versatality

After watching 2day's show, I was thinking, is it better for the contestants to stay in their comfort zones or be versatile and try different songs ?

Like Puja, from her songs so far, its clear that she has a great throw and a phenomenal control on what she is singing, it was clear from Sajna Aa Bhi Jaa, I want to hear Dil Hoom Hoom Kare from Rudali from her, which I think is her comfort zone. Instead she went for a performance song which I dont think is her style.

And then there is Ankita, sticks to her formula of performance oriented songs, totally excels in those and is moving ahead.

Prashant tried classical today and he wasn't that great, for an untrained singer to sing that song was phenomenal, but I think Abhishek or Emon would have pulled off that song much beter.

Do you think this appeals mores to junta ? Versatility ? Or is it just good singing?

Charu stayed in her comfort zone today and messed up badly.
Versatility is always a plus if the contestant can sing the songs well. If they attempt it and mess up, then what versatility?

i think good singing appeals to janta but for me versitality is more important...i dont want to see ppl singing the same type of songs every week...it will become quite boring

Too me I think good singing is important. If they arent comfortable with what they sing, they shouldnt sing it. But then again I dont know because if they become singers they will have to sing different types of songs.

i think good singing matters more than versatily...u shouldnt attempt a song that u cant sing in order to prove that you are versatile...but if you could sing the song, then u should do it...u dont have to pick an overly classical song to prove that youre versatile, u could also pick simple numbers...

i like good singing, may it be the same kind again and again, or something different. as long as they do what ever they do well, that's all that matters to me. but that's just me.

I am all for versatility. Obviously if you do something way out of your style and does not your voice quality then it backfires but it's always good to experiment a few styles. I mean after all how long is one supposed to stay in their comfort zones. there will be like eleven more rounds and say a person keeps singing a sunidhi song or something, the audience would be like wtf is that all you can sing?
