hi vijey!!i agree with naaz that u have to pick songs where u can confidently sing and have a good control..coz thts what some singers last time faltered at..and got it gud frm the judges that they shd not loose points in selection of songs.
but if u really really are good at classicals..and u can carry off it well..i think u should select that type of songs where there are lots of variations and will highlight ur strengths...
for eg..in last time fame gurukul, arijit had picked up aashiq banaaya..and tht too the remix version whch was fast and he sang it so well..so did karunya who had good selection of songs.i wud prefer to hear songs like 'tere bin' frm bas ek pal...frm any of the contestants this time.(but dont use such songs for auditions...if u wanna try,do later..as i think its a tough song😳) if u are going for auditions...u might as well take up a song whch u are most versed with...try not to experiment listening to our words 😉
but finally it depends on u...so when r ur auditions?whts the date?is it finalised?

Yup I m listening to to both of you naaz & rose...

In fact you are so correct ...Really precious suggestions ...

My audition dates r not known yet...I have tried all places on TV n net but no info😭

My choice for audition would be from :

Vande Matram : Lage raho Munnabhai

Vaishnav Jan to tene kahiye : A Gujarati classical prayer known by Gandhiji's prayer < I chose it because when I audition I want to represent something from my land from where I come ...I am Gujarati Indian>

Man Mera Tarsat hai : Kailash Kher's Sufi simplified

And Anjnabi Sheher of JannEMann !

In fact I have so many options that I am confused in all !😕😆

So suggestions are still welcome 😆

See ya all

Kem cho Vijey?? I'm gujju too! But never lived there...always lived in US. The sweetie at the bottom of my posts is my son, Zain. Thanks for saying he's a sweetie. Today he's being good but most of the time he's a badmaash! 😛 Hey, u never said if u had a guru or not. I think singing something that represents u and where u come from is an awesome idea! Good luck!!!

Su vaat che! Keep smiling! Well, to answer yr question...the US is great for me. I mean, it's the only home I know, as I was born here. Two months ago I was in India and it was very difficult. We adjusted because it was only a month long visit, but everything (or almost everything) available in India is available here too (as u mentioned). But u know, this is my home (US) and that's why I don't think I could live in India. My hubby, on the other hand, has lived in both places and he kind of debates which place is better. So I guess it depends on what perspective u look at it from. (Woah! Long answer to a short question! Sorry!)

My son is 2 and a half. He's our dada jee though, as he tells us what to do most of the time! LOL!😆

I'm so happy to hear that u have a guru. Please make sure she finds any faults u may have and corrects them all before u audition. And once again (and I'll keep saying it!) GOOD LUCK!!!

Naaz

toh jab bhi amrika mein hoon indian idol dekh leta hoon
ji huzoor hum dilli se hain

indian idol 1 i liked all basically but best i think were abhijeet, amit sana, and prajakta shukre
indian idol 2 i liked amey, karunya, meenal and antara

acha i think injustice is done only sometimes in during auditions and theatre rounds
last year there was a langda from lucknow who i liked and i think he should make it to top 28
indian idol 1 there was a blind girl who should have made it farther
and one guy named raju hela but his throat was not working in theatre round so that is only reason he didnt make it

yea selection process is most times fair

favortism is there for only people who are very good i think
so its okay

no we dont always see what is on tv
because when amey was out sony did not show everything properly

😆ron really?
so where r u now?😉😆😆
