Bar girls join anti-quota protesters

Mumbai: Doctors protesting against the reservation policy have earned supporters who are willing to dance for them.

The city's bar girls have decided to do stage shows to raise money for the anti-reservation agitation. Anchal, a waitress, was once a bar dancer but plans to dance again to help the doctors.

"We'll do whatever we can to help doctors—stage shows and dance. Whatever has happened with us should not happen to the doctors. We've been able to tolerate and face injustice but they wont be able to," says Anchal.

Manjeet Singh Sethi, president of the Bar Owners Association, said the stage shows could start soon. "We'll be lending moral and monetary support. We don't have funds but we'll be raising funds for the doctors. The stage shows will start in Mumbai in June," he said.

Medical students welcomed the help from this unexpected quarter. "We're happy that the bar dancers have come out and given us support. We need the money, so any amount of it is welcome," said Dr Gunjan Sharma, a spokesperson for the Youth for Equality group.

see the reaction from bar girls.but here we r saying that bar girls ********.. we r educated and cultural and says that badaa naagrik in samaaj...what is the relation on reservation with bar-girls...see how the ppl r helping to the future of india..hats off to them..the real indians...just i can't control my tears...

do I have to point out each place where someone says something idiotic like "I Hate SC"??

yes, the government is doing this for them but are they the ones making the laws?? are the SC making these changes??

OBVIOUSLY, you do not get why I am saying thank god.

I am saying thank god because I don't have to worry about not getting into medical school because I am TRYING to get into medical school... jeez is it that hard to understand... India is my "mother" but I grew up here so not planning on going back to live there. I am equally worried about what happens in India as all my family live there.

and last, I'm not trying to sound mean but it is not nice for anyone to say things like the following true post *I have nothing against kunal but this was uncalled for and that is what I tried to show*

guys i just got word from my people in india, that 2 doctors almost burned themselves alive recently.

they are alive, but 50% burned. they were saved by bystanders.

this is going to be just like 1989-1990
