Don't you think Amey is overrated - Page 9

no hes not overratedd bcua he sang rly good like classical songs especially, n if u think hes overrated on this forum than u must think hes overrated in like ,ost of the world/indian bcuz many ppl think he is an outstanding singer

yup i dnt know why this happens either...sometimes one says one is overrated and sometimes other....we all know good singers like amey and karunya are surely not over rated....

if you think Amey is over-rated then comparing Karunya with Abhi baby is example of what ?? 😆

Amey has been exposed for a long time - with SaReGaMaPa and now with II2. He is only now starting to get recognition. Karunya is only 19 and people are raving about his unique talent. This is no comparison. Amey is good, but there is nothing unique and stellar about him.

realmusic: thts coz SRGM didnt market its singers well. When amey participated in SRGM, it was a simple music competition. It's only after Indian Idol started did these music competitions become so focused to TRPs and marketing. Indian Idol gives good hype to it's contestants; which SRGM until recently didnt do as well. Karunya is lucky tht his talent is gettign its due amount of marketing, which amey didnt get when he was 18.

And come to think of it, ppl in SRGM forum still remember amey frm his SRGM days although he participated 8 yrs ago. SRMG has produced some of the gr8est singers, and if ppl rememebr amey among those gr8 signers then tht surely does say something abt his talent doesnt it?

breathing_irony: I agree with the marketing angle. I am not saying that Amey is not highly talented. You have to be talented if you have sung on SRGMP and now II. I am only comparing the relative talents of him and Karunya. Amey is certainly more talented than the other II contestants, but I don't think he is comfortable in stage competitions.

I disagree. Amey is a good performer and has some good stage presence as well, which is evident in performances like Mahi Ve, Rang De Basanti and Holi Ke Din. Panna is the ultimate performer from Idol, no doubt about that though. In the first gala, both Panna and Amey that performed well. Amey did look self-conscious at times during his Juda Hoke Bhi performance, but nevertheless, it was a good performance, especially since it was the first gala. Plus, he interacted well with the camera.

With songs like Tu Hi Re, Tum Jo Mil Gaye Ho and Dil Ne Tumko Chun Liye Hai, the apt expressions did the trick. In Tum Jo, he had to act intoxicated. In Dil Ne, all lovey-dovey and romantic. Each song exuded the right emotions.

you can't beat Amey, Karu must be thanking Anuj to get rid of him :) just kidding yaar don't pound on me 😃
