I feel Sourabhee winning Indian Idol 4 was token symbolism...just to prove girls can also win...from this season they are back to emphasizing on boys only.
So out of 5 seasons if 4 times boys won it is a big shame only...proves we are a backward country...esp in Idol 3 Deepali should have won...
This is really bad. And I see most memvers here are supporting boys. Why can't Arpita, Bhoomi or Tia win? And if girsl sing twice as good as boys they will only get half d praise😡 E.g. Arpita in gala 1 was best, but Sreeram won d bike. Anyway wot will a girl do with a bike?
please stop token symbolism idol...and by making Season 4 woman-centric did not really mean anything...if you go back to old ways in season 5...🤢😳😲

Because. They. Are. Not. Good. Enough.

How hard is that to understand? You cannot compare Bhoomi and Tia to Sreeram, Shashi, Swaroop, and Shivam ... they are all in a completely different league. Why are you bothering with this blind feminism? This is a singing competition ... who cares if a girl or a guy wins? In the end, we all need to support pure talent.

You cannot compel people to vote for girls in a competition by accusing them of having patriarchal mindsets and being backward. Stop this utter rubbish about voting for girls. These girls don't need your desperate cries for feminism to be appreciated. If they are good enough, if they have the talent, and if they deliver on the stage, they will garner support. If they don't, its because they're not good enough!

I get it ... girls don't usually get as many votes as they should. But, having said that, at least this season the girls don't deserve those votes either. Last season all this utter crap about voting for girls gave us Sourabhee, let us not hope for a repeat episode.

In the end, may the best singer win.

@Mintyblue.....I beg to differ from your opinion just a little....but i speak for myself only and not on behalf of anyone else....
This year I honestly feel the girls are not up to par with the boys in terms of singing....last year Saurabhee was deserving....many other girls were better than boys and were out due to the voting system which sucks....
I do not feel it is boys against girls, and I may not be the best judge of songs and talent, I still feel the need to express my opinion on wether or not a singer sounds good to my ears or not....(That is why I am on the forums!!😉)......However, I do not think it is right to support Tia, Arpita or Bhoomi just because they happen to be girls....they need to be more...like better singers than the boys.
And I agree that it should be an equal ratio of final contestants between boys and girls.
No offense...just my point of view...

Agree with WA completely.

@mintyblue
What you said about Sourabhee is absolutely right according to me. Even SRGMP did the same that year by making a female winner.

But I fully disagree with the other part you said. WA is right that the female singers haven't been that good when compared with their male counterparts.
You say Deepali was the best in II3. Ok its your POV. No issues. But I say that Amit Paul hands down was the best contestant of II3. I have every performance of his and there were very few negative comments against him. Then there can be other who will say Emon was the best. Its too much debatable.
Coming to Arpita. To be honest she has only impressed with Khalbali till now. I think Bhoomi is better than her and there are guys like Sreeram and Shivam who in turn are better than Bhoomi. Of course this is just my POV. Some others might have different say on this.

@brahmabul...I totally agree....

Amit paul was most deserving for the title....but it is the voting system that sucks. And can we forget ever the biggest blundre of II2 when Sandeep won over Karunya......no feminism involved there was there now??
Basically we need good singers and this is only possible if Indians vote purely as Indians wanting an INDIAN IDOL, not a regional male or female hero or heroine based on looks.......with singing taking a backseat.

I third the notion about Amit Paul. He was truly deserving. His Nasha yeh pyaar ka nasha hai still rings in my head sometimes. 😍 As far as Sourabhee is concerned, Rajdeep was the better singer on the show last season.

Anyways, as Jagjit Singh says in one of his ghazals ...

Jin zakhmon ko waqt bhar chala hai
Tum kyon unhe chede jaa rahe ho

Rekhaon ka khel hai muqaddar
Rekhaon se maat kha rahe ho

The past is gone, so let us move on and look towards the future. :)
