My first reaction towards Wild Card is that this is unfair treatment of the public desision.
When public has eliminated them, it means they don't not like them(or likes others more), then wild card is like a slap on the face of all the votes given by public till now.

Wild Card is just a gimmick to extend the show and create more drama.
And till now, in any of reality shows, I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY PERSON BROUGHT THROUGH WILD CARD WIN OR EVEN SURVIVE FOR TOO LONG.

So anyways ultimately this year also, Indian Idol will only be among those who have survived till the latest elimination.
BTW I am rooting for BHANU or KAPIL to win the title this year.

Well last year Amit and Ankita make it to Top 5....Amit was runner up ....so wild card does make sense...
we have lost singers like Bhavya, Shini, Sandeep, Prosonjit , Ali ....we need them....else the competition won't have any meaning....when this will remain just a voting competition and not a singing competition....

As you said...you are rooting for Bhanu and Kapil...I fear that is going to happen again....Mass voting is case with these guys.....

Wildcard truly is a gimmick to extend the show. However, if you notice the fact that on other shows, like American Idol, the voting is never wrong. It is very rare that a singer who does exceptionally well is voted off. That is why American Idol never has nor needs a wildcard round. I think you're right, a wildcard round does question the public's decision. That is why on American Idol, they never remark on the public's "wrong" decision.

But in II, voting is done based on so many other things rather than pure talent, that a wildcard becomes necessary. Or else we'll be left with completely unworthy singers. Plus, if you recall last season's wildcard's, wasn't Amit Paul brought back from through the wildcard round?

thats quite dumb.
Why ask public to vote if anyways u r gonna bring em back??
Why not judges themselves decide who wins/proceeds if they have so much problems with public decision.😕
where is the concept of reality here if they are giving multiple chances to everyone ??

Well, how do you know if I am an Indian or not? What have I done to you that you are being so offensive towards me? I have every right to state my opinion here as much as everyone else. I also know exactly what you mean when you say "It won't happen again" so stop with your biases. I have not done anything wrong to you.

Hi there, maybe you don't remember but Amit Paul was a wildcard entry, and he was the runner up. So was Ankita, who was in Top 4. I was so grateful for wildcard last year, as it brought back Amit, who's a FAB singer. Same for VOI, last year, Toshi was eliminated, and thanks to wildcard, he was brought back. I think wildcard is necessary, as audience voting can really be unfair at times.
BTW, I am also rooting for Bhanu and Kapil

Amit Paul was runner rup, quite far n in jhalak Prachi Desai won it after renentering as WC.So ofcourse it makes a difference but it is a 50/50 i say.
N r u saying u never thought that some public voting voted out talented contestants ?,if u do think there is talented contestant voted out (like bhavya)don't u think they deserve a chance?
I don't think WC is insulting but giving talent one more chance.

Exactly, why do they ask public to vote. When they have judges that are knowledgeable about music, why leave it up to the public to make wrong decisions?
