I want Indian Idol to call the currently most popular music composer duo Sachet & Parampara as the guest judges.

It will be hilarious to see Pawandeep reaction. They started their journey together with this guy. He will realise where they are today and where he is.

That is just repackaging by giving it a new name.

Had it really been the golden era then Geeta Dutt, Manna Dey, Hemant Kumar would have been heard, they were a rage then.

The fact is they have a limited repertoire restricted to Lata M, Asha B and Kishore Kumar with an occasional Rafi just selling the same product under a different name in every episode.

Or maybe the ghost of Naushad has pierced the bubble and is calling the shots and the ancestors have descended from the heavens to enjoy their descendants sing..LOL

Not true. Rafi Saab was extremely popular in 60s but once R D Burman paired up with Kishor da Rafi Saab was ousted. Than came Rajesh Khanna & Amitabh for whom KK sang & made them popular. You had to be born in mid 40s thru end of 60s to know how wonderful Rafi Saab was. He is God when it comes to singing. NO one ever comes close to or can do justice to his songs. You see more KK copying or sounding like singers who came afterwards but besides Sonu Nigam no one could try them. Sonu was good for a while with Rafi Saab songs than he also joined the singing taking murkis band wagon. Now his voice is shaking so much.

BTW oldies were goldies as they had awesome lyrics, great melodies & one could remember the lyrics to sing along. Music & Voice were balanced. Music never over powered or over done. After 90 s & These days songs are horrible 70%of the time. Music is so loud. Lyrics has no meaning. I am not saying they are all bad but most are. Very rarely you hear a good song. I really enjoyed HR Special episode as 💕 his music (minus his singing 😊)

though I do understand younger generation wants to see hear people from their time but not much to find 😕

Agreed 👍

But they should also incorporate some of the 2000s songs in my opinion this era has the perfect balance of rock pop n classical melodies and it would be great to hear them from the contestants since they also belong to this era only just like me

2000s was a transitional period from pure classical to rock music so it has a blend of both , n what's better than having both sides of the coin with you😉

Just watch super dancer special once again I want that kind of episode with full of energy n melodies😆

I don't think new artists like shreya sunidhi arijit etc. will come to II (they can be considered new as compared to other legends like sanu da in timeline)

Moreover many of 2000s artists have judged II so they have a low chance of coming n artists like Sonu nigam etc. who criticised the show shouldn't be called by the makers. N the remaining eg: arijit etc. They are having lots of work right now arijit maybe having a lot of projects since he's on top right now he may come for promotion matters just like jubin but not as a guest of the evening. N the recent once (3-4 years like dhvani , palak etc.) They have a lot of time to come to II to become a guest worthy of the stature which II has set .

Now 2nd thing m thankful to Corona that we are not seeing any actors here 😌 there is no role of actors in a singing show they only come for promotion of Thier films Thier presence doesn't add up any value to II nor Thier comments to the contestants moreover they all charge hefty fees n makers won't do that in a season which is getting trp on the talent of the contestants, y to waste money for something of no practical value old legends are called coz they have a lot of songs n a lot of career, don't charge hefty fees, have an understanding for music due to working with legends like Rafi , Lata , ASHA, kk etc. Don't consider them the success machinery for Thier films n especially aren't that much arrogant

So if any actor comes I would prefer oldies since they also share Thier experiences n for younger gen. They are learning something new !! So I love oldies😆

One last thing majority of old songs are tough to sing coz they are so simple and vice versa for recent decade songs most of them are easy to sing so to test n improve the singers it is mandatory that they do some classical singing or practice the old songs

Just an example of a contestant who improved drastically n became my fav later on

I remember when nihal first came he was stuck up on arijit songs n then he sang a lot of old songs in episodes along with other contestants also n his voice quality did improve , the old melodies look soo fresh in his voice ✨

Practicing old songs means also imbibing music associated with it n the classical part obviously

This makes them tough to sing n if a singer manages to overcome this challenge he/she is a better singer at the end of the day

We are at the lowest ebb in civilization. heavily influenced by the western civilization.

Our individuality and identity is subdued and is reflected in music as well.

All the names mentioned above were lucky to have brilliant music directors, superb lyrics and music based on ragas.

Why are Sonu Nigam 's chords trembling ? I read somewhere he is known as the lord of chords.
