Other than promoting who channel thinks are good for TRP I can't think of other reason. Even if there is any other justification I won't believe also. Eventhough I felt little bad for SMP and Anjali initially but I feel that's ok. They are talented and confident in their abilities. Already proved themselves before coming to the show itself. They already did playback singing with some of top musicians like ARR and Sonu Nigam and did concerts as well. So it's just they have some spare time in between their education and they are using it. What they have accomplished for their age is remarkable. I wish they are more successful in future.

There was actually a discussion about this when the show had first begun, that why were there so many underage contestants. This isn't Indian Idol Junior and its unfair to so many out there who genuinely needed that space. An Anjali, SMP, Sireesha, Samyak and even Arunita could've waited a couple of years, they also had enough credibility to do stage shows and earn if they wanted to. But some genuinely talented adults lost out on their opportunity.

This just makes me think these reality shows also have a nexus.

Sireesha is 24.. definitely not underage.

Some of these may not have competed this year if educational institutions were open. The high number of 18 and below is, perhaps, because of the circumstances. Arunita last competed in 2013. Her contract with Zee must have been over ages ago. Her choosing this year is possibly due to the school situation. Anjali, SMP must have just finished their Zee contract time, as would be the case with Vaishnav. I am guessing.
Neelanjana and Ankona's success is the fuel behind this youth surge. They can't wait.

12th? Why they give her older girl( by the way she look cute in that attire though) looks all the time. I thought she completed her education.

@bold: Neelanjana dropped out a year from school, a lot of the dance contestants also do it so I doubt it matters. Imo education should matter more than anything else, thats why I have a lot of respect for Ankush and Vibhor.

Vaishnav is 18+ so I get that...but the rest is a strict no no. As much as I like Neelanjana and Ankona's voice its very unfair to the adults trying to get in.

These guys were all on L'll Champs right? That show is also managed by the same group i.e The Content Team. Cant be a coincidence that so many of them make their way from one channel to another.

Neelanjana did not drop out during IDOL 10. She may have lost a year earlier during Voice - I doubt it though. She is serious about her studies and scored high in her 10th passing.
The Content Team was formed to handle Idol 11 and Super Singer. The members of the team have managed Zee Saregama (SMP, Anjali etc.), Voice Kids 2, another Zee Lil' champs. So they know every budding singer that is any good - and this team does the talent scouting, song selection, song allocation, music composition, song presentation etc. etc. It has deep connections with previous idols and use them to talent scout.

She participated lil Champs bangla 2013 (age 10) and lil champs 2014 at the age of 11

Making her look older is part of channel gameplay

Idk when Neelanjana lost out her one year. I love her voice but somewhere I am very particular about studies. Ofc once they are done with their degrees it all good. Educational qualifications help mould them into smarter people for showbiz too.

And whats the point of talent scouting in reality shows. The entire point of having such a platform was to let everyone get a chance. But this is like an additional pull, similar to an agent-record label situation.

Talent scouting should be done after the season is over, the popular contestants of that season can get shows etc afterwards. But getting them signed on like artists before the season starts...thats not even how reality shows should be.

Bold: I could not agree more.

I follow Content Team closely. They are formed in the last 2 years. But they consist of the same team that handled all the other shows that are mentioned. Maybe they had a different name - not sure about that. But this group of people have been extremely successful in making content for TV. They even made LIv Shoutout which was a great package in my opinion. If you have not seen it - it is on Sony LIv.

What a wonder Sony tv uploaded Arunitha and Danish promos for next episode already. So fast.
