I don’t entirely agree with this. Pawandeep has literally been hyped since the very beginning of the show and Sayli was the only one given a golden mike in auditions aside from SMP. Sireesha was one of the last to get MBD, I remember that people used to be upset that her performances like Yeh Haseen Vadiyan didn’t get recognized. I think Danish took a few weeks to get super hyped as well. I agree with your assessment of Ashish and SMP.

For that matter Ashish, SMP, Pawandeep, Vaishnav, and Samyak all came to promote the show on India’s Best Dancer. Using that same logic, this would’ve meant the channel wanted Samyak/VG in their top five which I think we all know wasn’t the case.

The only two shows where contestants came for pre-Idol promotions were IBD and Kapil Sharma, and it was probably based on factors like who was free to shoot in Mumbai at those specific times. SMP and Ashish were the only ones who attended both.

I think sirisha was not in their original top 5 , it was pawandeep,smp,Ashish,Anjali and sawai or danish

True. In the past they have used singers who did not make the Theatre Round cut in such promotions. In IL10 Neelanjana was not used for any promotion anywhere - and she was a huge channel favourite. Convenience is usually the key factor. The SonyTV award show was different. There they actually chose singers who they specifically wanted for the event.

If u look at the past Indian idol history or for that matter any of the singing reality shows, the winner really hasn’t been successful after the show is over.

Neha Kakkar was a contestant but didn’t even make it to the top. Arijit Singh was a contestant in Fame Gurukul but didn’t win the show.

All of the current Indian idol contestants have already gotten recognition from the show. Most of them were already known faces as they have participated in realty shows in the past. They have gained more popularity now with this Indian idol and age wise now they are ready to explore playback singing of offered. Nowadays it’s not just Bwood but music videos are also very popular and there is more scope for singing.

Personally I like Arunita. I find her voice soothing and she has it in her and I believe she can sing any kind of songs.
Sayli is also good and mostly in natkhat songs. Arunita and Sayli are like Lata and Asha - both good in their own way. Among the boys I think Pawandeep is more versatile and his voice quality is better. Danish sings some well but I am put off by his unnecessary alaps . I wish he would tone that down.
The rest are all okay. I had seen SMP before too. Just a bit too loud at times but she is talented. Anjali is good too but I wish she had waited a couple of years before she participated.
All are good singers, one of them will win - may not be the best one. But hopefully they all get good opportunities. Anyways sounds like they are planning on collaborating with each other. Wishing them all the success!

I completely agree with each and every part.. you're so right about Anjali.... She just came out from saregamapa lil champs...she should have waited for couple of years...uski awaj bhi aur mature hot jaati...right now she is getting overshadowed by other contestants. She has potential i wish she would have participated after 2-3 years.

Arunita and Sayli are like Lataji and Ashaji and actually in ghar more pardesiya they truly replicated Shreya and Vaishali (the coincidence is the duo was and is Bengali and Marathi)

Agree with Danish and SmP part also

Pawandeep has got flexible voice... suites almost all the songs thats the reason he could connect to the audience more

There was actually a discussion about this when the show had first begun, that why were there so many underage contestants. This isn't Indian Idol Junior and its unfair to so many out there who genuinely needed that space. An Anjali, SMP, Sireesha, Samyak and even Arunita could've waited a couple of years, they also had enough credibility to do stage shows and earn if they wanted to. But some genuinely talented adults lost out on their opportunity.

This just makes me think these reality shows also have a nexus.

Her contract with Zee must have been over ages ago. Her choosing this year is possibly due to the school situation. @bold: Neelanjana dropped out a year from school, a lot of the dance contestants also do it so I doubt it matters. Imo education should matter more than anything else, thats why I have a lot of respect for Ankush and Vibhor.

Vaishnav is 18+ so I get that...but the rest is a strict no no. As much as I like Neelanjana and Ankona's voice its very unfair to the adults trying to get in.

These guys were all on L'll Champs right? That show is also managed by the same group i.e The Content Team. Cant be a coincidence that so many of them make their way from one channel to another.
