Coming to today’s performance:

Nihal - I didn’t enjoy it at all. It was okay, but whenever I hear him sing, I’m reminded that he’s here while someone more deserving is out. He’s an average singer at best.

Pawandeep - while he sounded better than yesterday, it still sounded mechanical. There was no soul. I can’t help compare his dream girl to Danish’s - Danishs was full of soul, Pawandeeps was musically better. I’m not sure I’m making sense.

Danish and Arunita - undoubtedly two of the best singers on the show. Their coming together had to be magical and it was. I really enjoyed it.

Sayli - What has happened to her? She’s just climbing up the ladder to the stop spot with such speed. The last 2-3 weeks she’s been unstoppable. I was blown away today. She sang three songs back to back and one better than the other. I think she is going to give Arunita/SMP (who mostly likely will win if it’s a female winner) a run for their money!

Arunita: again a brilliant performance. I think she started slightly weak, but in about 30 seconds she just got better. For once I thought it may not be an amazing performance but she proved me wrong.

Danish: I don’t think this was one of his strong performances. It was good, but not Danish level good.

Anjali: wow!! This girl has no competition when it comes to classical singing. She sang two raag based songs - Raag Todi and Raag Bhupali (if I’m not mistaken), and she sang both flawlessly. I personally preferred her first song, but that in no way means the second was any less better.

I enjoyed the medley in the end, but sad that Anjali only sang in a group, no solo or duet. Also, Some singers sang 3-4-5 songs this week, while others just 2. Some got to perform on both days and even multiple times (Danish, Arunita, Pawandeep). Why is there no uniformity? And then the channel wants us to believe they aren’t biased.

I hate the judges or the guests doing waah or ahahaha while contestants are singing. The production should mute their mikes if they can’t shut up for a bit. We want to listen to the songs without waah waah. Also it seems funny when Neha does waah waah, her facial expressions are such a giveaway that she doesn’t know what she’s doing.

Again Neha reminding Himesh to give a standing ovation - I thought that was stupid. Maybe he didn’t want to, but was now compelled. You may really enjoy a performance, but not enough to give it a standing ovation. Or you just don’t feel like it!

today’s best performance for me was a tie between Sayli and Anjali. Worst of course Nihal

Perfect, on-point commentary! Agree with every bit, especially the waah and ahaha during performances. It has bothered me so many times.

This forum hates Shanmukhpriya for no reason. Judges can be biased but there's absolutely no chance of every musician coming as guest judge on the show heaping praise on SMP and getting mindblown by her performance including Ajay-Atul yesterday. And I would anyday trust them who have musical knowledge than the normal audience.

SMP's biggest asset is her uniqueness. She may not be versatile but neither are most of the contestants in the show nor even normal known singers. Unlike dance it's not possible to be a versatile singer so easily. I close my eyes and listen to contestants, Arunita and Chitra reminds me of Shreya Ghoshal, Pawandeep reminds me of Mohit Chauhan, Nachiket reminds me of Sonu, etc but SMP never reminds me of a single popular singer and that's her speciality and talent and why she always stands out. The format of American Idol on which Indian Idol is based was never to find just a singer but a performer who can make the crowd go mad. And SMP has all the qualities which she proves every single week. May god bless her. Such talent and voice at the age of 18! 👏

I agree completely, she adds her own flair to songs which I like because we hear these songs on literally every single reality show, it’s nice to hear a different rendition of the song. SMP would’ve been appreciated a lot more had she been in American idol where changing up the song is actually encouraged. Atleast she’s better than overhyped Salman or Sunny from years past who legit screamed their songs and got praised like they were the best thing since sliced bread. Atleast she sings and yodels and has variations in her songs. However I do agree that SMP’s being overhyped the way the judges are acting about her is off putting.

Two performers shouldn’t sing the same song in one show. There is bound to be comparisons and many may conclude that Danish is a better singer than Pawandeep. Too much Dream Girl song n theme for me 🥺

I really enjoyed this episode fantastic well done to all contestants though would have loved if if everyone had a chance to perform equally. what’s this with Danish n Mama. Sidekick act? Free performance?

My take for Saturday & Sunday:

Best were Sayli, Arunita (on Sunday) and Danish.

Anjali good but getting fed up with her aalap and saregama thrown in all the songs she sings. Just like SMP throws in her yodelling etc in her songs. Repetitive every week. Someone please tell these girls enough is enough, please sing without your aalap and yodelling etc.

Cannot understand why Danish also chose to sing Dream Girl with Hemaji when Pawandeep had already performed. Trying to prove he is better than Pawandeep???

Also his mama being promoted by channel?? why? to me waste of time. Not even entertainment

Sunday: Woohoo no single or duet performance of SMP. A song or songs spared from butchering and we were not tortured 👏

Highlight:

Saturday: Neha saying "Mein bhi ladki hoti ..." then realised what she was saying.

Sunday: No performance from SMP. n medley, SMP yodelling and camera not on Hemaji. Could be she was not impressed?? as usual even in her singing few seconds, Vishal & Neha going gaga.

Why they are sidelining smp . Just one song , others less talented are over hyped . Y forcing too much of Arunita, pawandeep , danish . Most of d performances are by dis 3 n y others not given chance . Bored of them . Sireesha sung in Atul n Ajay epi but not in Hema epi , smp n sireesha are sidelined by channel . They can eliminate Ashish , Nihal . Arunita , pawandeep, danish , sawai , Anjali , nachiket , Sayali no uniqueness n avg

Not only SMP and Sireesha but also Nachiket, Sayli, Anjali, Nihal only had one performance.

Nachiket has been one of the most versatile performers. You may not like him, but that is another case.

Similarly Sayli has started singing peppier numbers and has been far more versatile that SMP.

Infact Anjali, Sawai and SMP have been the least versatile.

I understand you like SMP and want her to win, which is fine, but saying others should be eliminated because they’re not versatile when your favourite herself isn’t versatile.

It is difficult to digest that SNP is being sidelined!

Sayali sang 3 songs in her individual performance performed for approx 7.28 mins

Anjali sang 2 for approx 7.36 mins

Sireesha sang 2 + 1 i.e with Atul

Nachiket sang only 1 song for approx 4.18 mins

SNP gets the maximum praises from all the judges ( outside + inside )

Sayali and Danish are professional singers they have sung with the likes of S Wadkar, Shaan etc

Honestly, it's Nachiket who got sidelined the most this weekend. He sang the least (only one song)* and got no extra footage either. Plus, the music took up a lot of his performance in the middle. So he sang for less than what his actual performance was.

*I know technically he sang both Yad Lagla and Pehli Baar, but they're basically the same song, just different languages.

And Infact his reels are usually updated last, his promos don’t come out soon, etc.

I would n' t be surprised if he is in the bottom 5 .
