Narmada's reaction.....Not surprised - Page 3

I totally agree with you, though Narmada was not correct today but whatever happen was her reaction that came out bcoz of the fear of loosing her child...

1. Narmada respects her Jijji a lot but still she has been supporting Imlie right from the day she entered the story, so today when she actually sensed BMs word making some sense..she couldn't control..and I believe she would have done the same with Aru if Imlies life was in danger...Afterall she tried to stop them from going...

2. Arpita and Aryan never lied to her so she couldn't think that Imlie will lie to her for what so ever reason and believed he words...Although I think Imlie should have been honest to her at that point bcoz this would have been pacifying to the family in such a situation...

3. Narmada has been in a similar situation in the past; and as we have seen how she considers both her kids and their partners as her own children (Mere Bacche)...We can imagine how she must have felt as a mother when Arvind when went for work and never returned...And what happens after that we all know...the whole family was traumatized for years!!

So naturally Aru's fatal conditioned triggered her worst memories...

Although her slap cannot be justified but I think Narmada's and Imlie's relationship is not just a normal DIL-MIL relationship, Imlie has always considered her Kaki Maa as a motherly figure.... She stood for Imlie, she would send tiffin for Imlie just like she did for her son Aryan!! We have seen her worried for Imlie's life and realtionship with Aditya just like a mother. So today if she slapped her for being careless with herself and Aru's life, I can understand her emotions.....

Yes it is domestic violence lawfully which is not supportable at all, but I think their relationship is no less than a mother-daughter.....When it comes to mother in law, we mostly take it in a bad way....But we should not forget the relationship Imlie and Narmada shares...So yeah she can be a bit strict to 'Her Imlie' as a mom...

Yeah. Whatever the relationship, physical violence is not acceptable to me.

If naramada slapped arpi/aru then same reaction.

I know that mild physical violence by parents as a means of discipline is accepted in our culture.

But perpetuation of that is unacceptable to me. We aren't in the 20th century when this was more acceptable.

PT. 2 & 3 - Thanks for pointing out valid reasons validating Narmada's fears and also for being positive about Narmada-Imlie relationship. Narmada's slap can't be justified; but her fears & subsequent actions are understandable.

I understand your view but for whatever reason, I just take it with a pinch of salt. the story was being too lovey dovey and we needed drama.

like I said before, I have seen family members go cuckoo in hospital -- maybe they didn't slap each other but there were insults traded which sting even years later. those are just as determental to relationships. no one forgets those reactions or words even if people understand on some level that it wasn't sane.

for me, what is more shocking is when violence happens to hospital staff for doing their duty. unfortunately, people do not have realistic views or understanding of treatment -- basically they think either that doctors/staff are God and there will be magic treatment or they feel frustrated that they are not given access to treatment. so rather than relatives slapping each other, what worries me more is when it happens to hospital staff. 🤷

another reason, I really can't take it seriously is because of the serial's multiple tracks and tone approach. think about it, we have kidnappings, bomb threats, blue aunty cutting the mandap. is any of it even addressed seriously on any level? 😅 there was even the bath being given electricity shot -- those are all technically pre-meditated murder attempts if we actually think about it. instead, blue aunty, jo and all the villains are more like bizarre comic relief and just vehicles to introduce various drama. so, I just watch with one eye close for the most part and don't react either way. 🤷

I do understand your POV and I am totally with it.....lets see what happens tomorrow and I too hope that its a dream, bcoz hug to thappar is a lot of change to adapt within 2 freakin episodes😳

I was just trying to bring out another perspective..bcoz tbh for me getting slapped by my own mom is quite normal (ONLY MY MOM) and thats bcoz i give her the right and its my personal thing and no one will decide my relationship with my mom...and I think its not about living in 20th century its about how we take it individually, for me Narmada slapping Imlie as a mom in law is unacceptable in every single way, and I wont tolerate it at any cost, but as I said..its a individual thing so everyone will have a different take on this.....

My reply was entirely based on my own thinking + the type of relationship Narmada and Imlie shares..

Anyway...I still hope that its Jo's dream bcoz if Narmada slaps her bcoz of BM I will be really mad😭 bcoz that slap will be by a MIL who holds her DIL responsible for her sons condition...and that will be Domestic Violence.

I am in comatose state since last 2 days and hence haven't seen the episodes but yes I did see the precap on Insta.. As much as I don't like what they are showing but keeping myself in Narmada's shoes I can understand what she must be going through...

Though I still I can't digest the slap part as I feel that went overboard but yes her cold behavior I can understand.. And I also know that once all this MU and all will be cleared Narmada will feel guilty more than anyone else because that is how she is..
