It's a joke... and an insult. Badi Maa saw Baby Doll without make up on and was so horrified by the difference in the before make-up and after make-up look of Baby Doll she asked her if she was using make-up or black magic on her face for there to be so much difference. And thence my joke.

Oh my god, Imlie is a survivor of a year of grooming and gaslighting, she already has unequivocal sympathy on that front. People do not need to channel handmaiden tale's level of 'purity' crap to bolster her character. It's disturbing.
