I haven't actually, I am more of a book person rather than a film person or any visual form at that. So the number of films I have seen are rather limited. But I will definitely check them out because I am always up for some stunning cinematography and in my TBR, Sense and Sensibility is next along with The Tempest. So it will definitely be a treat !

Oh since you talked about Japanese Cinema, have you checked out Kurosawa's Rann ? The cinematography was top notch there as well. Of course it was an epic, so the grandiose was also there rather than subtlety but excellent symbolisms and sublime watch. Do check out if you haven't since you seem to have an eye for good cinematography ❤️

I am, weirdly enough, both a book + film person, I (mis)fit with either of the snobbish crowd. It's so satiating to be able to visualise the written word, or watch a visual stimulus and get the writing behind it. Emma Thompson's screenplay was better than the novel imo wrt to sense & sensibility. She so deserved the Oscar she won for it.

I haven't watched Ran completely yet but Akira is a full-time bae.
