Yes - I imagine it would be because he’s not willing to give it up and she - hopefully finally realizing and acknowledging his pain, doesn’t know how to pull him back. So his pain, hurt her, because he won’t let it go.

Okay, so today brought out all the dark shades of Aru's love— his need to keep Imlie near, to protect her, to stop her from going back to BS-jiju. It also brought out his lust. And, Imlie doesn't stop him. She gives him that haq implicitly.

So, as M said, the masquerade dance was a professional mechanical ploy to literally stop her from going to Aditya. Whilst the waltz were all their inner desires, sexual or otherwise, expressed. In Aru's mind, it expressed his desire to keep her for himself, by himself, and be hers completely. The last lift where he holds her to the chest, almost hugging her was so well done. And he thought that it was only in his head. But here's the catch: Imlie felt it too. Her desires might be undetected and subconscious, but she realised that she could succumb to them, and it could be and feel wondful. She valorises being a sacrificial lamb for Aditya, but here she was completely consumed in an inner dance with Aryan. That's why she cried and that's when Aru realised that it wasn't all in his head.

It reminded me of this scene :

She immediately goes back to her BS-jaap as a shield. Anyhow, they were quite sexually charged, especially Aru. So, yes, whilst he was concerned to cause her damage, he was hesitant to touch her because of his sexual awareness too. Scared of what might touching her so intimately evoke in him . Scared of also touching her like that when she's completely unaware of his feelings

Because it was a completely useless scene otherwise.

That's also leads into the sabke samne ek dusre par kudna

Damn! Okay, yeah. And the bold - that gave me shivers. So so true. And I guess that's when he was moved to tears. Knowing that she was also effected. And yeah, totally, the scene with the neck after, that was a sexually aware Aru. And a adorably clueless Imlie, or rather, a comfortable Imlie that trusts him and will go where he leads. When he hesitated and she encouraged him I was like, interesting.

I loved the dance sequence. I like that it wasn’t clear that it was someone’s dream. It felt like they were both caught up in the moment and they were both in that ā€œdreamā€ dance. I think that Imlie was really affected by it, thus the tear. And then Aryan’s tear for the same reason, being affected by her.

Okay, and wow. I will take all the dance numbers between these two, especially if they’re like this. They move together SO beautifully! I knew she could dance, we’ve seen it on the show, and I know FK is a dancer as well, but OMG, the way he glides, the way they moved together, the ease with which he lifted her, it was all so beautiful to watch. It was so fluid and beautiful. Sometimes these ITV dances can be so stilted, but not these two. Again, their chemistry is off the charts. I don’t know how we’ll handle it when they’re actually in love on the show.

Fighting, dancing, having a simple conversation, they’re electric.

Alright, the injury scene. I loved that so much in a completely different way. First he was like good, serves you right to get a kink in your neck. Then, when he thought she might have actually hurt herself, the concern and worry. The fear that he would hurt her more. But then, in the face of that - her absolute faith that he could never hurt her. I loved her joking with him and his hesitancy. It was very couple-y, the whole interaction. A preview of what their relationship will be like, between all the passionate moments of course.

Now let’s get to the fight sequence. It just went on too long. It was fine, it was balanced, I get it. But there’s a literal fire raging. The fear of it spreading and causing serious damage aside, why are all the people just standing around. Isn’t smoke inhalation also an issue?! That’s also serious business. And how large is this hall, and how far are they from the fire?! It’s all so ridiculous. I liked some of their back and forth dialogue but again, just went on. It was too drawn out and just too over the top, and it continues tomorrow! I mean, Arylie rolling around on the ground - sounds great, but the context here, not so great.

And then tomorrow it continues and what a way šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø Now we’ve got proper weapons involved. I’m too tired right now to get into the potential symbolism of it all tonight, but I see it. I’m sure some of you will (or already have) talked about it.

All I want now is for Imlie to completely forget about BS (especially because while everyone is worried about him he’s literally just passed out drunk) and worry and tend to the wound she gave Aryan. In my dream world (which means this will never happen) I imagine him telling her why fire is a trigger for him and his sister, and them having an honest conversation.

Alright, off to read others’ takes.

(Pooja, I’ll post this over in the other thread you created as well if you’d like - the one you tagged me in - not sure if this is the content you’re looking for there).

Mary brought up the fight scene in Mr. & Mrs. Smith which culminates in , ahem, mindblowing sex. The fight scene was a sanskari version of that. I just rolled my eyes and a gagged a bit at how they trivialised both Arupi's trauma as foil for this

The point if the scene was that these two need to get laid. And that they will even fight in order to stay near/with each other. Quite stupid.

Yes, the dance was very well done, well worth all the hype. The sprain scene was cute as well. However, my burning question is that.... AC seems to know her way around the Rathore mansion very well. Has she been there before? Or is it because of the veryyyyy loooooongggg days (equivalent of at least 4+ earth days) in Imlie world, she was able to explore once she got to the party.... šŸ˜šŸ˜…

She likes touching him and him touching her. She doesn't get cooties from him like she did with others.

Even during the fight when she initially jumped on him....he was ....shocked???.... Na....wo kya expression tha?

Omg yes! As I see the episode again, I noticed that too! He was visibly taken a back at that, and had his sisters life not been in danger we might have even gotten a Jaaniya...lmaoooo

I like mostly everyone have mixed feelings about the episode.

1. The dance (or rather dances) I think it was lovely... even better executed than I had imagined/hope for. I did not find it OTT because there was just so much to understand.

The restrained dance, un-passionate, unfeeling, more professional, more like a chore for both of them. It was extremely restrained, there was a lack of comfort.

In contrast the dance of the two souls, was passionate, enchanting, there was raging chemistry, all inhibitions were forgotten, all restraints broke loose. They were reaching out to each other and drawing comfort. That was the dance they actually needed/wanted but couldn't do... so their souls/minds did instead.

2. 'Main nahi chaahta ki tum meri wajah se hurt ho' that was such an aww moment. In fact that entire moment was awww. The episode explore a lot around the concept of power and hurt. Which I will talk more about later

3. The entire Imlie rekha part had me rolling my eyes. THAT was OTT and unnecessary. Without having any knowledge about the source of her trauma Imlie wants to play doctor. This is NOT how you dela with trauma people. In fact this is a very good bad example of how NOT to deal with trauma.

This will probably hurt Arpita even more. The woman needs treatment not thi nonsense. And not only has she shoved Arpita into a very dangerous situation Imlie had the audacity to stop others and play a game of kushti with a very concerned brother. Like WTF??

Poor Aru was trying the best he could without hurting Imlie. Doesn't anyone else have a brain? why did they stop on Imlie's command? I really hope Sundar or someone does something instead of allowing this nonsense to continue. I have seen several misrepresentations and the blatant romanticisations of mental trauma / illnesses. This is one of them.

Coming back to the concept of power and hurt. The power to hurt is the power given by oneself to another individual. It is inherently in. theory stupid, but without that relationships cannot flourish. Over here... they both (not just physically) already have the power to hurt each other emotionally. Which tells me their relationship is way more progressed than they both realise.

I see their relationship fostering into one where Imlie fails to trust and Aryan tries to protect. They both love each other but Imlie won't be able to trust Aru after she finds out about the revenge and Aru will try to go through with revenge while protecting Imlie who will be protecting her BS.

Therefore at every step of the way, they will clash (like they did today). This will be their relationship, the only message about this that I liked was that it would be a relationship of two equals that would challenge each other.

My heart breaks for Aryan literally everyday. He is going to suffer so much pain, when he already has already suffered so much. He will be alone in this relationship for a long long time. Imlie will like in the fight scene hurt him quite a lot.

I cannot even empathise with Imlie any more... she has my sympathies but no empathy. The woman is beyond me now.

Beautifully put! Love your thoughts. I comfort myself on the bold - that although they clash, they'll come together and stay together. Only these two understand their feelings and their highs and lows. It's intense and yet soft at the same time.

This is my take on the dances:-

The first dance... they are masked not only in reality but metaphorically too. They are not showing their true selves. The dance is almost routine, mechanical. It's like watching one of those snow globe dances come to life Ć  la that similar scene in Om Shanti Om.

Then we have the dream dance but I don't really think it's meant to be viewed as a dream dance. The masked dance is what they are showing on the surface, with them hiding their feelings whilst the supposed dream dance is a truer depiction of what they are... their real feelings.

All the simmering undercurrents, passion and rawness came to the fore there. It actually felt like they were making love on the dance floor

...and I absolutely loved it.
