Okay, so today brought out all the dark shades of Aru's love— his need to keep Imlie near, to protect her, to stop her from going back to BS-jiju. It also brought out his lust. And, Imlie doesn't stop him. She gives him that haq implicitly.

So, as M said, the masquerade dance was a professional mechanical ploy to literally stop her from going to Aditya. Whilst the waltz were all their inner desires, sexual or otherwise, expressed. In Aru's mind, it expressed his desire to keep her for himself, by himself, and be hers completely. The last lift where he holds her to the chest, almost hugging her was so well done. And he thought that it was only in his head. But here's the catch: Imlie felt it too. Her desires might be undetected and subconscious, but she realised that she could succumb to them, and it could be and feel wondful. She valorises being a sacrificial lamb for Aditya, but here she was completely consumed in an inner dance with Aryan. That's why she cried and that's when Aru realised that it wasn't all in his head.

She immediately goes back to her BS-jaap as a shield. Anyhow, they were quite sexually charged, especially Aru. So, yes, whilst he was concerned to cause her damage, he was hesitant to touch her because of his sexual awareness too. Scared of what might touching her so intimately evoke in him . Scared of also touching her like that when she's completely unaware of his feelings

Because it was a completely useless scene otherwise.

Okay, so my two cents on the episode...

I can really see the makers attempt at phasing out Aditya and Malini this week with the spotlight on Aryan and Imlie to test the waters. Ab to next week hi pata chalega, iska result kya hoga. With Gashmeer leaving, they actually want to not lose the momentum they have gained so far.

Okay, coming to the episode - the dance was more an internal struggle than dance in my opinion. Two people so close yet so far away, a continuous push and pull, the feelings being so strong that they are beginning to surface and both are hell confused as to what is happening. For Imlie her marriage and Aditya were always a priority, for Aryan his family and his revenge from Aditya have been a priority. But now the earth has shifted on its axis, where jo priorities thi woh change hone lagi hai. Something else has begun to matter to them, and it is scaring them both. These unspoken emotions between the two are causing an emotional upheaval for both of them. As soon as Imlie feels it, she uses Aditya as a shield (pyaar/concern/insaaniyat). As soon as Aryan begins to feel it, Aditya here too becomes a shield (bad guy/revenge/shield apne). It's so weird that both use Aditya as a point of connection because they both don't want to acknowledge that their feelings which are growing at a tremendous pace are their point of connection now.

Haaye, so much back & forth, angst, aansun, jhagda and all will take these two to come on the same page regarding their feelings. Let's see who acknowledges first.

Ye log fight bhi karte hai, tab bhi its like the world has phased out. Bhai Arpita will pass out, usko to dekhlo apne maje ke chakkar me bhul gaye😆 Well, it seems to me Arpita will manage to overcome this time. The sexual tension was clearly displayed out even in the soul's dance. He backed away when she touched his neck and was about to tell her to not touch but instead changed it. His hesitation to perform that nuska was partly because he was asked to touch her bare neck.

Even during the fight when she initially jumped on him....he was ....shocked???.... Na....wo kya expression tha?

Agreed but I am going to focus on two points.

Bold: I think you are right but I would hate to see that. I hate when mental trauma is trivialised to the extent where such harmful experiments are shown to work just because the FL has carried them out. I am all for representation of mental illness/trauma/PTSD but it is a subject still heavily misunderstood and should always be portrayed with care. This misrepresentation really irks me... another show on this very channel has romanticised panic attacks

Also the amount of times flower petals fell on these two during that fight is ridiculous and quite symbolic.

Yes, they literally were in their own world with that dance. They had a moment, and it scared her and his single tear. Again, I’m reminded of that line he said in the hospital about the only reasons that there should ever be tears in ones eyes.

This conversation about pain is an interesting one. I don’t think either of them would intentionally ever hurt the other, Aryan had his limits even when he knows that Imlie is doing something she shouldn’t - he leaves her room to make those choices in the end.

I think what pains him - and the pain she’ll give him, is he doesn’t want her to hurt, he wants to see her happy. But she’s determined to keep putting others first, above herself, even if all those people do is bring her pain.

Still trying to figure out the pain he’ll give her, because she hasn’t acknowledged that he has the power to hurt her yet.

Omg yes! As I see the episode again, I noticed that too! He was visibly taken a back at that, and had his sisters life not been in danger we might have even gotten a Jaaniya...lmaoooo

Also he visibly softened when Imlie had a grip on him and she said that she has had a lot of people in her life try to break her. Poor Aryan and his soft corner.
