There is something else I want of Imlie basically. To stop blaming only Malini for everything. Malini is loony, but the relationship of AdiLie broke because Aditya chose to believe what he wanted to and did not listen to Imlie's pleas. She had tried explaining that AryLie had nothing, but Aditya did not want to listen.

Aditya thinks that Imlie is insecure of Malini, which has never been the case. Imlie knows Malini has been wrong. Imlie should also accept that Aditya is equally wrong. He allowed Malini to play dirty. Aditya on the other hand is truly insecure of Aryan. Jo jaisa hota hai woh dusre ko waise hi perceive karta hai. He just can't handle that Imlie can have a wider circle. Actually Tripathis too cannot. All of a sudden after her departure, they want to make investments. To 1 saal se jhak maar rahe the kya.

Imlie ko essentially ye realise karna zaruri hai ki Aditya galat hai. As a person, as a husband, as a journalist, he is wrong. And she has been wrong about him because of her perceived idealism of this man. And it is okay. He is but a human.

Bold: Uski kisi bhi baat mein integrity nahi hai... maddam hafte me chaar vachan of 5 prann leti hai lekin nibhaati kuch nahi hai. Muh se sirf BS ke prasansha mein jaap nikalti hai!

purple: YESSSSS!!! But to her credit she said that agar aap hum par, humare rishte par vishwaas nahi kar sakte toh yeh rishte ka kya matlab or something along those lines

Green: Issi hi baat pe ASR ki ek line yaad aa gayi "Lekin aap chaahate hai ko woh titli sirf aapke chatt ke neeche udde" when he was taunting Aditya... his words were so on point!

I find Imlie's constant admiration, trust and sad to say love for BS so hard to digest.. I mean would you really want to keep going back to a man that has on countless occasions done horrible horrible things that have literally broken your trust, shattered your respect, and made fun of your love?

Exactly! I try to understand her character but it is so infuriating... khudki agar respect nahi karoge to how can you expect others to respect you! Draw the line woman! Please dekho what kind of things he has said/written about you while you blindly defend him.

In the fight club scene, Imlie tells Aditya ' Babu Saheb kai baar jo aankho se dikhta hai woh sach nai hota hai" . I feel she is still stuck in that zone where she sees everything but is still not ready to rationalise. It's like her intellect is playing games with her.

I don't feel so. Infact she is much more aware of Aditya and his idiosyncrasies than she let's on. Girls always have strong instincts. She is equally aware of his instincts, weaknesses and strengths. Each day she tries to defend this man, and she has to rescind on that, because Aditya disappoints her. She is still trying to look for that man she had met in Pagdandiya, who she idolized.

This is more psychological than emotional. Imlie is aware that she has lost everything in her life with respect to this marriage. But she does not want to lose her idol. But kehte hai na, zindagi aankh me ungli ghusake sach accept karwata hai. I can speak from experience that she wants to hold on to something which does not exist, only exists in her mind. Holding onto sand which is slipping away from her hands. This PD trip will break that last shred of hope or idealism for this man, I think.

I never watched the show before ASR's entry but was always aware of the track. Anyways I am going to pin down one particular point and elaborate on that.

'Imlie walked away from the humiliation/degredation' and of course this has happened in many more shows as well but since we are talking about Imlie... lets see.

Why did she even stick around for that long? Wasn't it enough probably 7 months back? When the man yelled at you, degraded you, blamed you for every wrong doing in his life when you are nothing but the reason he is alive today?

Why the expectation from women like Imlie to stick around despite the things she was put through day in and day out? Why did she not put her foot down months back and now when she has why is she still spinning like a top singing praises for BS... why???

Yes pyaar ek din mein khatam nahi hota, yes feelings are not a switch but you still defend that mans every move! If we see it Imlie has given BS as many free passes as Malini has.

'woh ek ache insaan hai' was actually the joke of the century. Kaha se ache insaan? kaye ke ache insaan?

Apni long term partner ko dhoka dena, ek 18 year old ladki ko mentally torture karna, national newspaper mein apni galatfehmi ke chalte usse shame karna, calling the woman you claim to love a gold digger. Kisi ke crime ke saboot mitaana. Bro the list does not end!

So she might have 'walked' away and yet has not left it behind

It's been brought up before but it's due to her social conditioning. Imlie was pretty open-minded for the place she belonged to but certain aspects of that culture/lifestyle were still ingrained in her. 19 years of social conditioning cannot be broken within a year or within a couple of months of coming into contact with a man like ASR. It will take a lot of work to take apart that conditioning. It will have to be done bit by bit like ASR has been doing.

Something I had mentioned in my post was trauma bonding. It's that trauma bonding that has prevented Imlie from leaving behind her one year with Aditya even after walking away from it. It's such an intense connection that she had with Aditya that she cannot just remove herself from it. Walking away from it shows that she hasn't just realized that she needs to make some changes in her life but that she has started putting them into action. However, she is still at a stage where she can easily regress which she has been doing. Not much time has elapsed since she walked away and especially since the divorce for her to get over Aditya. A relationship as intense as the one AdiLie had will take months to untangle from. If ASR/Rathores weren't there then it would take even longer. Aditya/Tripathis continues to be in Imlie's sphere which makes it real hard to move on from. They are around each other every damn day. How can she stop thinking about Aditya?
