There are times when a story makes you feel that you are an inclusive part of a character's journey. That story becomes more memorable & impactful for you even though you may appreciate other better stories in the future, that story & its characters always remain special for you. This was the feeling that I got while watching Adi confess his truth & bare his soul to his family- Imlie, Meethi & Satyakam❤️.

You know we have analysed the character of Aditya Kumar Tripathi ad nauseam in the forum. He has always been intriguing in his faults & his values. But hearing him tell the journey that he has undergone since the forced marriage in his own words is something else. Such raw honesty where nothing was kept hidden- the pleasant & unpleasant❤️. It is so rare to get such memorable scenes in a story, especially so in an ITV show. So kudos to the team- writers, director, actors for giving us such a beauty👏👏.

First I liked the setup of the scene with Adi telling Imlie that he needs to tell the truth to Amma & SK. Imlie asked him why that was required when they do know the truth & have belief in him to which Adi replied that they cannot know his truth by listening to someone else & he wants to talk to them himself. He wants to tell them everything, things that even she may not know. They are his apne, his family & Imlie agreed.

The scene continued with Meethi telling him that he does not require to give any explanation. If her gudiya believes him, then she also believes him. But Adi tells her that they know about him but he wants them to know him as a person as all 3 of them are his apne. I loved how SK came & sat down to listen to him & said that "Apnon se dil kholke baat karna chahiye" reciprocating his apnapan❤️. Such simple statement but it made Adi even more comfortable to bear his soul.

Adi began telling his story by letting them know about his relationship with Malini briefly. How he was happy in his life & when he had come to PD, his family was making arrangements for his wedding. But his destiny changed in PD. Imlie came in his life. The forced marriage was dishonest & illegal for him. He never considered Imlie his wife & tried his best to make Imlie understand the same. How he didn't give her his name or even the right to apply sindoor. He revealed that he didn't want to take her to his home & had left her at NGO. Then I just loved the profound dialogue next " Hum jaante hain ki ek aurat hona mushkil hota hai, lekin ek haara hua mard hona usse bhi zyada mushkil hota hai." So much of his helplessness, trauma & mental, emotional state after the forced marriage got revealed in this one statement.

How his self respect was destroyed to bits when he was forced to marry Imlie at gunpoint how Imlie became the physical representation of this loss. He did take her to his home but couldn't reveal the truth because he wanted to preserve his false pride as a man. But Imlie sacrificed her self respect, her rights & her name & became a servant in her own sasural. She was daily living with this humiliation so that he could be saved from his humiliation. But he never felt pity for her. He was helpless about his circumstances & was lying to everyone & vented all his anger on Imlie. He never gave a thought that Imlie was also as forced into this marriage, how her studies were snatched from her due to this marriage. He should have made efforts to get her educated then but she worked as a servant & he never left a chance to humiliate her.

Adi says that they might be getting angry at him hearing this truth but Imlie never hated him, never got angry at him & continued doing good deeds for him & his family. He even told them that now even the thought of Imlie being with someone else brings out a murderous rage in him. But Imlie had to see him give his body & soul to someone else, had to see someone else get the rights that belonged to her. He always said to her that he can never accept her as his wife but she always maintained that her Vishwas is enough to nibaho their rishta.

Imlie never asked him for anything but gave so many things to him in return- himmat, hausala, mauka & maafi.

Himmat- strength to bear all his emotional upheaval, his trauma

Hausala- courage to accept his true self

Mauka- chance to always explain himself, to start afresh

Maafi- forgiveness for all the hurt that he caused her

All throughout this confession, he was looking at Imlie especially when he was talking about her. As if letting her know how he sees her, what she means to him. Meethi & SK gave him the silence & understanding that he required. You could see their hurt & sadness while listening about the bad treatment that Imlie received from him. You could see Meethi's smile of pride in her Gudiya when Adi extolled her virtues & what she has come to mean for him. You could see Imlie listening to his pov & understanding him even better. She has always understood him & his emotions on her own but it must be surreal to know what he went through in his own journey towards her.

I am sorry that I may have transcribed the entire scene but I cannot help myself. I have just re watched this scene alone a number of times. I need to mention my thoughts about the rest of the epi but I am just stuck on the beauty of this scene❤️. Hopefully we get an equally beautiful conclusion to this confession tomorrow. I cannot wait for the next epi.

i can't with how cute it was to see imlie trying to be herself for the few secs but it is also heartbreakign how much AC and her beti has crushed her soul in the last month or so where even cracking her Punch she now feels unhappy instead of goign more into her spunky zone. come on she needs more positive people around more motivation more uplifting.. still it was so worth seeing her for 2 secs forgetting everything and focusing on dant lagaooing shehri langoor of hers haha.. and itne time baad them sharing a genuine smile😛

Image Image

special mention of ST ka expression after this it is as of Imlie realizes in that very moment how empty her claim is about being strong has been rendered in past few days by other people

Today Aditya has truly become the sun- the light of his truth has just given Imlie, Meethi, SK & the viewers such an in-depth look at his character. How the bad circumstances in his life caused a transformation of an honest, principled guy to a dishonest (to his world), hurtful (to Imlie) person. And also how Imlie, the epicentre of the storm in his life, became his anchor to navigate the stormy ocean of his own emotions. How she provided him the tools- himmat, hausala, mauka & maafi - to brave this storm & now return back to his original self.

In fact he is now a better person because of knowing & loving her. Her understanding, selflessness, generosity, no judgement & forgiving, happy pill nature was the amrit that his battered soul needed to battle his struggles & become a better person. How could he then resist his soul from attaching to hers & loving her so deeply. She deserves all his respect, love & happiness & he will now fight with the entire world if required to give her these things.

The first Adi-Imlie scene saw the return of their banter briefly. Adi sarcastically asking her how come she is holding his hand in her own to tie the Raksha dhaaga & will it provide better safety than his helmet. Imlie's sarcastic reply about him not knowing how to drive his lohe ki bhainsiya & getting into accidents frequently. The return of Jhalli & Sheheri Langoor & them smiling together briefly was lovely.

Imlie's smile dimmed on remembering that Adi has told the truth to Dementor Didi & she must be hurt. She told him that she does not deserve to be happy & Adi's soft exasperated "Imlie!" was 💔. Then Imlie asked him how did Dementor Didi take the truth & Adi let her know she was hurt but accepted the truth. He also told her that she has someone else in her life as well which Imlie refused to believe. Imlie has a better understanding about Dementor Didi's love/obsession/possessiveness for Adi & hence cannot believe that she can love someone else. Adi disagrees because why would she lie to him & if he can love Imlie when he was with Dementor Didi then why can't she. Imlie still is not believing this & thinks that Didi must be really hurt.

Though we got to listen a lot about Dementor Didi in this convo & had to shake our head about them both thinking about her Mahanta & still keeping her on a pedestal, I still liked the scene. I am glad that Adi is not keeping anything hidden about Dementor Didi to Imlie out of a sense of misguided loyalty to her as a friend. Yes, she is his friend now but she is also the one who he was in a relationship with, so it is better that he does not keep anything about her which can affect his relationship with Imlie hidden.

We then had a scene of Adi calling his home. We learnt from Aparna that 2 days have passed since Adi left home. Aparna was worried about him & got relieved hearing he was fine. Adi lied that he is in PD but he did tell her that he was with Imlie & will return with her. Aparna cannot make herself care about Imlie right now when her son & DIL marriage is on the rocks & got angry at Adi for not even inquiring about Dementor Didi. Adi was totally lost as to why that would be an issue & asked about her with zero interest which angered Aparna even further. She scolded him about his inattention to Dementor Didi & that they have sent her to her mayka & banged the phone on his call & Adi was left calling out Ma! Ma! to her.

Imlie deduces that choti kaki must be angry & hurt to which Adi angrily replied that she should now start calling her as Ma herself. Imlie started her lamenting that they have already hurt Dementor Didi by telling her the truth & now the entire family will get hurt. Adi got really angry at that & asked her whether she wants to be unhappy her whole life. This is her life, he is her husband & his family his her sasural. She should start living this life now. The relationship that she was fulfilling since day one, it is time to live & fulfill this relationship together now. Why can't she walk this path with him together? Imlie tells him she is not afraid of walking this path together with him but she is fearful of hurting their loved ones. Adi tells her everyone will forgive them once they know the entire truth which than segued into the beautiful candid confession scene.

Imlie my poor child is just feeling so dejected. She is having Adi's support now but the selfless person that she is, she is more afraid about the hurt their relationship will cause their loved ones. You cannot help loving her but also cannot help yourself from shaking your head at her naivety & innocence. She has to accept that the truth will hurt people but it is better for everyone in the long term. You cannot protect everybody else's happiness at the cost of your own. You do need to have a bit of selfishness to be happy. It is a tough truth for her to accept. Adi, SK & Meethi will play an important role in this journey. Adi will have to be patient, understanding to her as well as keep on reassuring her why this is necessary. His love & support will be the tools that she would require to walk this difficult journey with him.

Meethi is such a great character. So humble, forgiving, understanding & non-judgemental. She herself has faced the repercussions of facing the negative judgement from almost everyone for 20 years for the simple fault of falling in love with a loser who never returned to support her in her hard times. She lived in poverty, getting constant abuse from her step mom, being judged by her village people & still raised her daughter to be a strong, educated, compassionate & independent woman. She just continues to grow in my estimation & is turning out to be quite a role model for what a woman should truly be. I love her.

SK too is a great character. A poor man who could not get educated due to poverty, whose love was cheated by a loser shehari, who became the fighter for all the downtrodden villagers & became a father to Imlie without any expectations of his love being returned by Meethi. He loves Imlie something fierce & is the one who has supported her to fulfill her dreams equally with Meethi. Now after learning all the suffering that his daughter has gone through, he did get mad & claimed his pound of flesh from the culprit. But his love for his daughter is greater than his own anger & once he came to know that he loves Adi, he has backed off. He has forgiven him believing in his daughter & even apologised for his wrong way to take revenge. And you know his forgiveness is true when he gives Adi a chance to tell them his own truth with so much understanding. He has truly accepted him as family.

I have to marvel at the fact that Adi has found a place for himself in this small, loving family in such a short span despite of the circumstances in which their relationships were forged. He had respect & regard for all of them before the forced marriage & after he came to accept Imlie as his own, it has been a natural process for him to become a son to her Amma & Dadda as well. Such a beautiful journey it has been.

SK had to resort to guns to feed himself and Imlie is a fatherless child. Their ordeals have been extremely different to anyone living in a city, let alone the Tripathis.

The Ts will be a lot more emotional because they have the added bonus of didi in their equation. She can be pretty heavy deadweight for anyone to lug around toh that in and by itself is a challenge to any normal being.

The truth revelation will be different. While we saw calmness here from Aditya, with the Ts it will be more of an outburst. The circumstances will be different but the equations are different too

The Tripathis are truly nice, genuine, warm people. You can see this when you see how well Adi has been raised by them to be such a principled man. Even their other kids though maybe having their own secrets like Nishant & going through a struggling time themselves like Rupi Di, you can see that even they are genuine, nice people. Dhruv as well though his character has not been fleshed out more as we don't know anything about him other than his love for his wife.

Everyone in the family is so warm-hearted & they showered genuine love on Imlie even though it was not required of them. They do not know that she is their bahu & truly apni but still reciprocated her warmth, love & apnapan genuinely.

The only thing that is wrong with them is their tendency to avoid confrontation so that the general, happy vibe of the family is retained. We have always trolled them for being so under the thumb of AC & Chaturvedis even after being the ladkewale but they are the same with even Rupi Di's sasural. They invited them for Adi's wedding even though their SIL has cheated their daughter. They are people for whom marriage is for life & if their are conflicts & arguments then you work on it together, compromise & continue being together.

Also they are not fake people. They are showing their displeasure to Imlie - Aparna & Radha, mainly when they think she might be a cause for their family's trouble. They are not behaving like Dementor Didi who says one thing & does another. Also since they have raised their children with the correct values, they have high expectations from them to never make a grave mistake. What happened to Adi was extraordinary & unless he tells them the truth, they will not understand him.

So when they see the married life of their son & DIL who seemed to be so made for each other getting destroyed right before their eyes, they are having trouble in navigating this struggle. They have expectation from their son to make the compromise, adjustment that is required to nibhao this rishta. They themselves are ready to do things that they are not comfortable with like sending Imlie away from their house when they do not know if she even has a role in this conflict.

They do not know the truth so all their sympathies are fueled to their DIL who always cries about how bad a husband their son is. They are also seeing his changed attitude towards his wife & believe that he is making a mistake & want him to rectify it. They are not listening to his POV because he has been silent for so long. Adi also needs to shout if he wants them to hear his truth even if they are not ready to handle it. They are seeing him become so concerned for Imlie despite them wanting him to concentrate on his wife. This is making them pull away from Imlie which is making him even more protective about her as he now believes that Imlie can only rely on him.

Will they be as patient as his PD family when Adi tells them their truth? The answer is no. His PD family has always known he was married to Imlie by force, have seen him as their SIL for this entire time, so even when they came to know about his 2nd marriage they could give him the chance to explain himself & believe in his love for their daughter which they have actually seen.

The Tripathis on the other hand are completely in the dark. They do not know that their son was forced into a marriage at gunpoint or the existence of this marriage. For them he was in a relationship with a nice girl like Dementor Didi for 7 years with whom he got married happily & did spend happy times with her as a husband. On the other hand he was so rude & mean to Imlie that him loving her or her being his wife would be a complete shock for them. Also they have accepted Dementor Didi as their bahu even before they got married. So it would be difficult for them to suddenly replace her with Imlie independent of their sympathies for both Dementor Didi & Imlie. It is going to be a tough phase for everyone.

Kya episode thaa na...we got them both smiling, crying and Adi babu ka dil wala confession which hopefully only half finished...I want him to say out loud the transition between the 2nd and the 3rd PD trip...Ek Hare hue mard se Ek pyaar mein uthe hue mard ki kahaani...the transition between a loser to this man who so rose in love...hit the bottom as a man and then rose above and beyond in love!!!

What I loved about the first scene was how he said matter of fact that he had told Malini the truth that he LOVED her...how he referred Imlie as "patni" and not "pehli patni".

For him the marriage with Malini has ceased to exist the moment he told her the truth!!

"tumhare haath ko humare haath se kya kaam pad gaya"🤣 Khadoos to khadoos hi rahega!! Even for a moment jhalla jhalli and bhainsya....errr Motorcycle are back...it so goes back to the first of their conversations...hum teeno ladies aapko surakshit pahoncha degi, hum, sitamaiya aur bindeshwari...today ek male aa gaya teeno mein...Vishwaas😆

It was so good to see him smile after so many days...Imlie ki smile withered away with Didimania back in action...

The way Adi told Imlie he wanted to tell SK and Amma the truth...truth that even she was not aware of ...the accusation of "dhoka" has actually run deep...he so wants to repair that...to heal that wound and in that process he tries to restore the trust that he has broken ...Meethi's trust, SK's trust!!

The way he looked at Imlie during the conversation, the way he lowered his eyes when he described how Imlie became the househelp! How he told every detail including the NGO wala incident!! He left nothing that could spare him from the hate that should have been rightfully his and in this process he just managed to rise above the stature!!!

Didi ki on-off memory rekindle ho gai aaj!! so when Dev and his flimsy "haan beta" tirade started, the dur ki yaadasht blink aai!!! when AC had told her that she suspects Imlie to be Dev's love child...kya dimaag hai...and DEV...what nonsense of a man he is...blaming one daughter for destryoing the marital life of the other! Dev babu doesnot know that apart from it is his KARMA but it was his rencontre with Meethi that inspired Adi NOT to be like him...he chose not to leave Imlie because of Dev!!😆 Kya ghuma ke maara hai Dev ko kismet ne...for cheating on his wife, for cheating a young village girl and then leaving her to the wolves and not even inquiring after his daugter for 18 years!!!

Very aptly put about the Ts...They were there for Imlie when Adi was being a complete grouch..they made him apologize to her when they came to know he had prohibited her from entering his room. His father made him realize that if he was majboor (in the version that he had told them) she was equally the victim...

They trusted a stranger and let her in...participate in all functions like family member...helped her study, got her admitted in a college...were happy and proud when she stood second, worried for her safety when she left and cried buckets when she was shot!! They are a good family!!

and as you rightly pointed ...it is their Parvarish reflected in Adi...their goodness which made them tolerate AC for all these years...in fact, the way they treat their bahus is exemplary...and we dont have any problems when it comes to Nidhi...it is MAlini and her harketein which makes us question their behaviour. but then she is their bahu and Imlie...nothing as of now...

Thanks for the Gifs Naadan👍🏼.

Agree that Imlie was crying remembering her own pain & now absorbing his pain as well.

How can you not root for them to be together yaar? Just look at their emotions being so in sync.

I would like a sasural where they treat their bahu the way Tripathis do. Dementor Didi pe ye log waste hai.

But hume problem bahu se hi hai….Dementor Didi is so depressing that she has just sucked the joy out of this family yaar😭.

They need their happy pill Imlie back with them to get the raunak & happiness back😳.
