He has given enough and more signals of where he is heading. It just unfortunate that the other person is not as astute as he thinks she is and hence the whole thing is being dragged out.

As you said, he will not consider the marriage to Malini as valid because for him there is only one valid marriage and the divorce, if needed, would only be a formality. Also, he would have been more considerate of Malini and made sure that she got the closure she needs but Malini ne to apne hi per pe khuladi maari....aur maar rahi hain 😆

Yes but in pursuing this formality to give Malini closure and get out of the marriage - Adi is in a way acknowledging it to be a valid marriage in which case its then not his second marriage per se - as a second marriage has no validity. How can you pursue a divorce for a wedding that is invalid on account of bigamy?

That's my annoyance with this track. A Adi Malini divorce track in a way invalidates Adi Imli marriage in the first place. Whatever they believe in their head in one thing...it another what the eyes of society see. I don't care either way as the story has to follow a certain route and I don;t mind seeing Adi Imlie getting married again with all rituals...but here again Adi and Imlie are taking a hit in the eyes of society to indulge the whims of the entitled princess and keep her image well.

That is why they have never brought up legality so far have they. I do not know if whatever lawyer they go to will tell divorce is the way either. That is why that has been pretty much open ended. The only thing didi and her mom can do now is see how to exploit any loopholes there too but I think all of Malini’s attention will be solely on trying to denigrate Imlie as much as possible.

As much as I wish Malini handled this with dignity, I do not think her situation is the same as Imlie. Imlie was never given any hopes from Aditya. From day 1 she knew where Aditya stood about their marriage. Handling things with dignity is her core characteristic though, thanks to her emotional strength, so she did not beg Aditya to give her haq and instead promised him to never impose the marriage on him. One scene comes to mymind, after Adi-Malini marriage when Imlie falls sick, she does not use the shawl that Aditya had gifted Malini, which she gave to Imlie. Aditya asked her then why she did not use it, and her answer made Aditya speechless. She had said that she can never take anything that is Malini didi's haq. Man, what show of dignity that was.

In contrast, Aditya gave Malini hopes and promises. He married Malini out of his own free will. Marriage is of course a lifetime commitment and that is how Malini saw it. It is a different thing she was deluding herself about their relationship but for her, it was a permanent thing. And if I go back and rewatch 1 to 100 episodes, Aditya promised Malini a lot. He will be there for her, he can never leave her, his ILUs, etc. So Malini losing it temporarily after Aditya's emotional detachment is understandable. Malini has most people's sympathy (mostly the situation she is in, not the character herself) but it is impossible to respect her. Especially since 3rd PD trip. She handles all the problems in her life with such indignity, that I just cannot respect her. Emotionally weak people are so darn unattractive. And to add manipulation and guilt-tripping and delusion to that, Malini's reactions are so cringeworthy. Her trying to hug Aditya after puja, then her begging for haq, then begging for ILU, and still having hopes about HM..........I am like woman, please show any self-respect. If she had the guts to ask direct questions, be truthful and still vent out her anger at him....heck even punish him, I would have had so much respect for her. If only she had made him go through third degree with her questions after finding out the truth, she would have had my respect. The situation she is in, though partly it is her fault, can still be sympathized with but her reactions to the situation she is in, is what makes me really dislike her character to the point that seeing her onscreen is an exhausting task.

Even though I do not think Malini's and Imlie's situation is the same, anyone should learn to handle problems in life with dignity. And Malini has constantly shown that she cannot handle even Aditya getting angry at her with dignity (car-bike scene...running to Anu). So it is kind of expected that such a big issue such as marriage breakup will be handled with utmost indignity by her. People cannot defend her by playing the victim card all the time. Aditya-Imlie were victims too of forced marriage. There is a reason we respect Imlie and abhor Malini.
