The so called "lead couple" is disgusting and spineless. They still don't have the strength to tell the truth, such a cowards, they truly deserve each other. Malini in the situation has lost everything and still she is seen as the villian whereas she is the victim. If Imlie had even a bit of self respect she wouldn't have enjoyed Adi's advances, when he clearly is someone's else husband officially, her sisters husband precisely. Adi never respects the institution of marriage, when he loved Malini then disrespected his and Imlie marriage and now when his heart has fallen for more "interesting character" then he doesn't respect his marriage with Malini, how convenient!!! So loyalty, trust can take a backseat if you aren't intresting as per ITV standards.

thank you for this perspective.

I applaud that girl in real life. But i just wish if they had to show that arc they should have developed it more. Someone referred to diya aur baati hum and sadhyas journey in that show which was so well done and i agree.

Imlie’s is not digestible, not because she is a village belle but because she hardly studies, very few references to it compared to the gradual buildup of diya aur baati. Imli hardly studies but supposedly comes second in all india exam even with missing half the time? Very very unrealistic and poor character sketch/arc.

I'm sorry but these are tv shows where audience comes to see plotlines and the equation between different characters not to watch the characters sit and study. The serial is for entertainment and people will get bored if such scenes are explored in depth, it's just a normal ITV show.

So many references of Imlie studying, so many scenes of her studying and someone teaching her were shown so idk what you feel is "unrealistic" here. Plus this isn't a reality tv show that we'll see what the characters are doing real-time.

I disagree and would say there's no flaw in Imlie's study plotline. But yes they need to show college plotline more and give lesser screentime to malini. Both these tracks should be managed together to give variety

@bold I means that's the truth isn't it 😆

Funny thing to me is, we derive and try to establish our morality in entertainment mediums. Morality isn't universal, people believe in different ideas and that's okay.

While entertainment can and should avoid promoting social evils like misogyny or discrimination, cheating or any such moral concern is a personal choice. I know it's hard to accept but it is a personal choice. We can't castrate or punish someone because they cheated or lied, we can just stop associating with them at best.

So I don't understand why the show's team is burdened with upholding your sense of morality when morality itself isn't a universal concept

My thoughts for this post :

I definitely agree with a few points and disagree with the other few.

Regarding Imlie, I completely reject the idea that this character is unrealistic. People like this exist actually who are self-sacrificing, who are brilliant. Moreover who decides what's realistic or unrealistic? It's a subjective term so I don't understand why a character should be blamed for not upholding someone else's definition of "realistic". I think the one person who suffered the most in this situation is everything. She had to leave behind everything, face mistreatment from AC and even Adi initially. She went through all this for nothing, she deserves better.

Regarding Adi, I inherently dislike him for his flaws and I agree he's an anti-hero. He's a grey character who is selfish, sometimes manipulative too also quite callous. Despite recognising all his flaws, the audience including me still loves Adilie together, which I know isn't okay from set standards of morality. I think despite being so flawed Ad actually cares about Imlie and connects with her simplicity, ambition and her strength of character.

The marriage with Malini was the worst mistake of Aditya. Only and only Aditya. If only he didn't be selfish in that moment and spoke up.

Adi's equation with Malini is flawed, always has been so apparent from a lot of conversations and scenes which talked about their past. You can call this a bias but I think Adini would have broken up even without Imlie, they don't match. Adi looks for fierceness which he doesn't find in Malini (unfair comparison I know)

Regarding Malini, I will tell you outright I dislike her but not for the reasons you think. Malini is completely innocent in the wedding drama, she thought she was marrying the man who loved her(or it appeared so). Keep Imlie aside, what I gauze from all the scenes describing past is that Adi is a practical guy who didn't think about love at all, his family was pressuring him to marry someone. Malini was his good friend and he thought understanding is the key to a relationship. This is exactly what happens in real life with arranged marriages, people marry literal strangers even educated ones. Only difference here is, Malini loved Adi but Adi didn't. He just thought Malini will be suitable for him.

Her experienced real love with Imlie, no matter how wrong someone thinks the conditions were. But yes, Malini no matter she's like doesn't deserve this at all. She deserves a man who would love her that is why I want her to leave Adi.

Now regarding why I don't like Malini, (this is all independent from me liking Adilie) she's very classist. She concealed it really well because she has always been image concious. Also because Aditya likes people who are simplistic and have strong values (quite ironic I know). Imlie has been Malini's pet project. Now you would say I'm accusing her, no.

Malini never actually cared about Imlie. You must've heard white people like blacks only as victims but the moment they try to be at par with them, their superiority comes out in front. This is exactly what happened here. Malini claimed she didn't believe in class etc but the she used Imlie to vent her frustration, was jealous because she thought Adi cared for her. Mind you here she didn't know the truth but still she chose to insult Imlie for that sindoor and call her naukrani, random ladki etc. And this is just one instance.

Malini is also very manipulative. She says what she wants and then goes like koi nahi nothing happened. Maybe you haven't met manipulative people irl but that's how they behave. It's called love-bombing.

Finally, I dislike Malini but I don't think she deserved what happened to her with the marriage/troubled marriage. She didn't deserve that no girl deserves it no matter how flawed. The only logical solution is that Malini gathers her self respect and choose herself over Adi. Also if Adilie want to be together, I don't think anybody can stop them at all.

Imlie is well etched character individually. Interview and realistic. Won't say more about hollow character of malini.

But yes, Imlie had been shown studying many times, that's how she earned scholarship.

The new viewers definitely not gonna check the facts as usual, before debating, but before precious Malini started hogging screen space, there had been so many scenes of Imlie studying.

Those started watching show half way, will definitely feel that Imlie is unrealistic, when it's actually Malini which is unrelatable character.

Now though I agree, Imlie has been reduced to Maljni didn't Jaap.

Infact I would rather say that Malini being a professor hardly goes out for work.Since beginning, all I have seen is that her life revolved around Aditya or Imlie. She is lazy professional, a weak individual and let's not talk about the suicide stunt..

So I don't think there is anything you can admire, like or show interest in her character. She was shown sweet initially for sure, but now all she is good for is a bit of sympathy, which I am slowly loosing

I really wanna ask people, that take Aditya out of equation, what they really like about her over Imlie as an individual

for me it's Aditya's mistake that's earning her support
