I haven't been able to feel anything but sadness for Imlie's state for the past few episodes. No one to talk to, no way to know how to solve this mess, thinking that stepping back will make everything ok, but not really being able to do that either...

If Rupi Di hadn't taken to this positively, I don't know how Imlie would have been able to handle it. One after the other incidents with no room to breathe and no one to just hold her or console her. The only person she can talk to is Adi, and as mentioned previously he's too biased for her to listen and hear him. Seriously watching her hug Rupi Di was a relief felt like finally a little bit of sukoon after all these heavy episodes.

Can't figure out where we're going but strapped in for the ride. It's definitely giving me "everything will devolve" vibes.

(Also 100% to the commenter who mentioned this is Adi's karma. Another reason I can't even be that mad at Imlie. He drilled it into her that the truth coming out won't end well, and now she believes that.)

The main reason is the amount of "bechariness" Malini has been portraying. The only way Imlie will be ready to fight back would be if she sees through the facade or realize that Malini is not right for the family or for Aditya or the relationship between them is not right. For that, the makers would have to bring out Malini's darker shades or show her manipulative personality of victimizing herself. Will they do it because other than that there is no way of Imlie being free from this guilt/shame or am I missing something?

I think the only way Imlie will accept her haq on Aditya is if Malini gives up her haq willingly. I do not see it happening any other way. They can make Malini as black a character as they want but it will not change Imlie's mind. Imlie not taking her haq back by herself or fighting for it has less to do with Malini and more to with her own personality. Right now she thinks only Malini has haq on Aditya and she has no right over what belongs to Malini, therefore she will not fight for it. And fighting with Malini is out of the picture, impossible. Aditya-Malini married legally with both their agreements. Unless Malini leaves her haq by divorcing or separating from Aditya permanently, Imlie will not do anything about her haq. And I have no issue with it.

My issue with Imlie in past 2 episodes is not because she does not see Aditya's POV or the whole picture or the future yet. All that is understandable. Imlie needs time and space. She needs to be not traumatized by Malini constantly. She needs patience from Aditya. She needs guidance from Rupu di. So yeah, her not understanding Aditya or not supporting him is totally fine. My issue is that in the past 2 episodes, she is blindly seeing things only from Malini's side. I did not like her stopping Aditya from speaking with his own mother or her blackmailing him to bring Malini back. All that can still be forgotten if in yesterday's episode she did not put her dreams aside just because Malini is not at home. This is a big blunder I think writers did about Imlie's characterization. Imlie not supporting Aditya is one thing, it is tolerable. But Imlie forgetting about her dadda and amma's dreams, about Aditya's sacrifice to take her to her exam, about her lifelong dream, about completely losing herself, acting like a zombie, because of Malini is not the Imlie I have come to know. She can be sad about everything going on but she cannot willingly sacrifice her education for Malini...that is hard no, not by saying that how can she fulfill her dream if Malini's dream is not being fulfilled. So my issue is there. Didi bhakti will stay forever, that is not going anywhere. But nothing should come above her education. Aditya did not come above it, Malini and her guilt/shame should not also. This, writers should never mess with.

And Aditya does not need Imlie's support to speak the truth. Yes, her standing by his side supporting him will give him strength. If it was any other man, he would wait. Would fake a relationship with Malini and wait for Imlie to support him. But it is not in Aditya's personality, his core characterization, to wait to speak the truth. He is extremely honest about his emotions. He was 100% right that what Aditya-Imlie are doing now will be gunah if he stays quiet. It is not that they are having an affair behind Malini's back, they are married after all and it is more about their feelings for each other rather than actions. But not telling Malini the truth ASAP is wrong also. His relationship with Malini is a separate matter from Imlie, and he needs to sort the mess about his relationship whether Imlie supports him or not. It is also not that Aditya-Imlie love will go away if they disagree with each other. But they also have to be true to themselves. Imlie is being true to herself by not fighting for her haq and Aditya is being true to himself by wanting to speak the truth. So the problem is not with Imlie not supporting or understanding Aditya, the problem is Imlie forgetting about her education, stopping Aditya from doing what he thinks is right so that he can have some peace in his life, and lastly, blindly only thinking about Malini.

I also don't think Imlie will fight Malini, I think it's only Malini that can truly end this stalemate.

Also I agree with you on all, though I still feel bad for the girl. Just because we can clearly see the right answers doesn't mean it's that easy for her. I guess the way I've been seeing Imlie for the past few is stuck in a fog where the only thing she can clearly see in front of her is this one path. "If we don't follow this path, we'll all be lost" type of thinking right now. So even though there are other better paths, she can't clearly see them. I'm personally on board with her actually going to the hostel, she needs space to clear her head and think.

With the education bit, would definitely have preferred her saying that she'll take a break today or something like that.

Also, the way she said "Aap bhi humein..." after Adi asked if she wanted to be a "naukar" all her life was pretty heartbreaking. Imlie is really hurting and has no real idea how to work through those feelings. Funny, our patrakhar spent his life building a shell to hide away all feelings, while our jhalli has usually dealt with her pain by crying to herself and pretending she's ok in front of everyone else. It took (several) jhatkas for the serious patrakhar to break that shell... wonder what's in store for Imlie?

Imlie was still ok upto the sindoor scene when she showed Adi that she's always going to wear it.....but uske baad se she saw the fights between Adi-Malini visibly escalating every moment they were in front of her toh that dialed up all her guilt/shame further. Us bechaari ka struggle hi is waqt yeh hai ki she wants to savor the sindoor by herself but feelings attach ho hi gayi hain Adi se and it's not so simple for her anymore to savor the sindoor as seperate from her feelings for him. And Malini is going the full nine yards in portraying herself as a victim jiski rightful attention is being given to Imlie.....this is all tormenting Imlie inside endlessly.

@bold - agree. Malini also jhadoed that whole how dare you come in between a husband and wife at the same moment making Imlie feel like there was some unnatural aspect associated to her relationship with Aditya.

That is why Rupali’s “sindoor is not everything” dialogue was so necessary; not that it will help her right now. Poor thing would have figured that on her own if things were different but the impact of these constant attacks on everything related to her is pushing her on to Malini’s side. So ironical that she is going to the side of the person who is constantly degrading her.

She's sadly getting caught up in that psychologically abused victim wala cycle with Malini.....Malini first props her up with sugary talk so Imlie feels attached to her, then she brings her crashing down with vicious attacks on her self-worth toh Imlie seems to start questioning her self-worth over that and groveling before Malini to get love from her again.....that is sadly how this seems to be developing. How ironic that the woman who is putting on a show of being the victim is actually the one who is psychologically abusing someone weaker than her and destroying her self-esteem.

This is why an external influence is needed to break that cycle and the hold that Malini seems to have over Imlie. They sadly aren't going to show Adi getting it that he needs to keep Imlie away from Malini - he's caught up in his own issues regarding Malini right now......so we can only hope Rupi tries to boost Imlie's self-esteem in some ways.

All this just makes me sad thinking about it.....we have all loved Imlie for her spirit and her mental/emotional strength.....but Malini is managing to corrode her psychologically. Imlie won't be able to overcome this by herself....someone needs to help her here.

I'm wary of hoping for too much but I do feel there is potential for better family scenes now that Rupi knows and Malini is out of the house....hoping they capitalize on this phase a bit while Malini is gone to let Imlie feel that sense of belonging in the family. Aur kuch nahin toh just do a simple scene of Imlie eating with the family at the table na😊......I feel these things are all needed to heal Imlie's trauma also....Malini ekdum uska self-worth kuchal ke gayi hai with all the "baaharwaali" etc. labels too.....toh if Rupi pulls her more warmly into the family fold, I think that will heal some of this hurt inside Imlie.

But let's see what they give us....lol

@bold - aa jayegi chaar episode baad sabko torture karne.

But yes, some sort of expanded inclusivity will definitely give Imlie’s self-worth some much required push. And some shaanti in the house will be a welcome respite. It says something about the caliber of the show that we are all just so pakaoed in a show that is not even melodramatic - by one family and it’s characters. To be able to show that they can drain the life out of everything without resorting to panning everyone’s face every two seconds or using dragging music or any other theatrics but with plain acting/ writing is so amazing to say the least.

Right now, Imlie’s like this stuck record saying the same darn thing and Aditya trying to get her to understand the same thing over and over. Hopefully we get some hiatus from that too. I’m keeping my expectations low. I really would not mind a random running around the house scene again. Pichle wala hi utha ke kyun na daal de aise hi 😆

I wished Aditya had reflected on how all this is impacting Imlie's mental state. Just like he was surprised Imlie had not gone to college yet, it should have been a warning for him that she is ready to sacrifice her dreams for Malini dreams, she is in a daze, looks like a zombie, cannot think of anything else. This is very unlike the Imlie we know. After coming back to T house from PD, Malini has one way or the other been belittling Imlie, making her feel guilty, and playing mind games with her. Imlie is too innocent and pure hearted to see all this. But Aditya needs to open his eyes to how all this is affecting Imlie. The whole sindoor drama was exhausting for us to watch and we are just the audience. It can be so harrowing on a girl like Imlie. Imlie needs to be protected from Malini. In reality, anyone would send Imlie to hostel so that he could deal with all the mess that he created. With his family, with Malini. All this has nothing to do with Imlie. But she is still stuck in between living in T house.

I have hopes from Rupi di. I hope she is there for Imlie.

So much this part in bold especially! Very much like Stockholm syndrome just not in the classic sense.

Malini has a whole support system that she is abusing to the maximum already. And she will only continue to wage a war against Imlie considering she is in her college as well. A 24 hour constant attack day in and day out.

I really hope something, anything that others have to say gets through to Imlie but I do not know.

Is point pe Adi will be like maine bola tha na us college mat jaao😛😆.....ab bhugto baith ke Didi ka prakop....haha

How I wish Adi would get her transferred out of that college....but now we are going to be stuck with this....Imlie ne khud yeh kulhaadi maari hai apne paaon pe.

Anyways, I want to get out of this gloom/doom mode and again hope ki our Powerful Imaliya will rise again to defy all odds ⭐️.....us college pe apni chhaap chhod ke aayegi apni Imaliya....Dementor Didi chaahe jo bhi kar le😛
