Phew, with personal things out of the way, let me get back to matters at hand. Before I start my tirade, let me say that Sahir totally nailed it yesterday. I wouldn't really call him an anti-hero, because an anti-hero does not have any scruples, but this guy does seem to have some and more. He is manipulative and wicked, but only when he wants something badly enough. Otherwise he is a quintessential suave, man of the world guy who makes a perfect head of the family.
Many people have compared him to Edward, but looking at Zeenat's upcoming track, I identify him more as Maxim, the protagonist in Rebecca. There are many parallels here, Maxim is a reserved, rich guy, with a past that he hides religiously, has a manipulative nanny like Kurti apa, marries a young girl who later believes that he is still in love in his first wife. But the truth is, he abhors his dead wife due to her taunts and numerous affairs that she flings in his face all the time and ultimately ends up killing her. Whenever I look at Sahir's reaction to Zeenat, I get reminded of Maxim, and understand why there is no love in his eyes when he looks at her and why he is so hell bent on proving her wrong about him.
Ok enough of the story, let me talk about Humsafars. Let me start with Sahir first, coz he is my fav guy right now I am terribly enamored by him, not just because he's hot but also because the guy uses his brain and doesn't mind using emotional blackmail as his weapon to get what he wants. N is he really wrong in doing that? No I don't think so at all. Sahir knows for sure that Arzoo has feelings for him, and he is not immune to her either, so if he can use her admission to keep his brother off who is making a fool of himself by believing that Arzoo loves him, he will kill two birds with one stone. One, he will be able to open Zaki's eyes to the fact that Arzoo isn't in love with him, and two, once Zaki realizes the truth, he might agree to marry Sam, which will help to appease Rehman and seal the deal finally.
He is being devious only to get her to admit her true feelings for him, if he is sure that she is indeed in love with him, he can go ahead and make his next move. I say this because earlier when he thought that she was preggy with Zaki's kid, he refused to bow down to Rehman's blackmailing tactics even at the cost of losing his deal. Now the tables are turned, Sam is preggy, Arzoo loves him, and Rehman will hand him the deal on a platter if he can get Zaki and Sam hooked together. So its a win-win situation all around, the only catch here is that he doesn't know that Sam is lying and phasoing Zaki. Wonder what will Sahir do when he finds out that Zaki is not the father of Sam's baby. Now this is one track that I am really looking forward to.
N Fem, your anti -hero has feelings😛, don;t think he was lying when he told Arzoo he loves her and later when he comes to her room seeking answers, his unshed tears are real too. I was 👏 when Sahir said ki when I told you ki door raho mujhse, you didn't listen, and now when I tell you I love you (meaning you got what you wanted) all you have to offer me is tears ? I felt like 🤗 the guy, poor fellow, who wouldn't be confused with a girl like Arzoo around ? She is all around him, touches him whenever she gets the chance, she hugs him tight at the hospital, walks into his room unannounced all the time, behaves like a wife when the coffee falls on him, gets into an eyelock at any given moment, romances him unabashedly on her bday eve and yet when he tells her he loves her, runs like she has seen a ghost ! Really ? You didn't see it coming girl? Not even after he said suggestive things like when the moon's roshni touches you...ahem ahem...
Ok now coming to Arzoo, my gripe is her inconsistency. The girl who was supposed to be a fighter has been reduced to a tearful old bollywood style FL. Though her mahanta characteristic bothers me, what bugs me more is her proximity with Zaki. Her background is of a small town girl who has grown in a family without a man at its helm. So its pretty understandable that she falls for Sahir but her equation with Zaki is unfathomable, especially because she knows she is in love with Sahir. Correct me if I am wrong, but most girls when they fall in love generally tend to draw a line with their male friends because they do not want any misunderstandings to crop up between them.
Can't understand how Arzoo lets Zaki feed her cake after such a passionate eve with Sahir! I am pretty open minded and have been there, done it all and yet this bit doesn't go down my throat and for the first time, I am really irritated with Arzoo. How can she let Zaki hold her hand, tell her what she means to him, without correcting him even once. Its like she is enjoying all the attention he is showering on her, and she does it without drawing a parallel to the eve she has just spent with Sahir ?
Though I have always supported Arzoo and thus my DP, today I am feeling really let down. She may be upset with Sahir but ti doesn't justify her actions with Zaki, she is letting him get away with too many liberties that a normal in love girl wouldn't do.
Sahir is just so Muaahhh the next morning !!! His analogy is just so spot on, he is indeed like the knife that is double edged, but a knife without a sharp edge is nothing. Sahir is likeable because of his sharky streak otherwise he wouldn't be so sexy, would he? 👏 to the writer for these lines. His apology is just to die for and what does Arzoo do , just nod her head despite his admission that he will always love her but won't say it to her ever again. Cmon girl, is this how women react when the man of your dream tells you that he is sincerely sorry for hurting u and being out of line ? Cvs please get a better writer for Arzoo. I could write a lot more Fem, but it'll be like hijacking your post, so will vent out my frustration by making a new thread all together. 😃 Yeah, its time to change my DP too I guess 😭
