@Junoonian first thing wht do I get to call u ?.@ecrivain - Hi! My name is Binu. What is yours?Ok now wonderful analysis .and oh boy u have actually manages to mind read ARZOO wht sahir could not do 😉hahha I wish! And Sahir read Arzoo's mind! Nah! don't see that happening until they have been married for a couple of decades and even then it maybe suspect.Ah jokes apart while I m sure a lot of other's may connect to the scene n her , I for one can't see tht happening ..I have always believed tht humans are flawed and no one is perfect and we all have our own short comings ...and hence while we may not be able to categorize any ...we can atleast try n Give the other a benefit of doubt ...n RIGHT NOW..Understanding or not ...love or not ...I don't seem to relate to ARZOO at all ...period 😆See the thing is I agree. I too believe that Sahir has despite his emotional baggage and rage been the more balanced one when it comes to handling issues between the two. Arzoo either bumbles around naively or jumps the gun thanks to that temper. She sees what she wants to see and remembers what she wants to remember. But the thing is in yesterday's episode, I really felt that all her illogical expectations and demands of, on and from Sahir are based on a purely emotional response. Logic really doesn't have a role to play here. She is in love (for the first and maybe last time), it has hit her hard and though she feels there is a connection... a raabta... she is also beginning to believe that maybe he doesn't love her. That must hurt.So I am just willing to be understanding of her too. Just like I am willing to be understanding of Sahir, cause his pain is so palpable.AND before you Jump down my throat ...I would like to say tht it's entirely the Cvs fault ..cos even after the misplaced trust issues they have managed to give us scenes where we connect with sahir .lbut for once , atleast recently there have been no monologues or scene where we give ARZOO a benefit of doubt ...see I m not sure if it's on purpose ..n if it is..then they have achieved it well ...You have a point. My one real grouse with Arzoo as a character is that she is never shown thinking even once about her own actions - except the one time she tells Alvira about her promotion and talks about how she is a mistake-baaz. A bit of introspection on her part will add so much more depth to her character and make her more relate-able.. methinksAlso I do hope no zaki n ARZOO Nikaah ...I m not sure if I wud ever be able to reconcile with SaAz then in tht case 😆Oh no! this for me is the worst case scenario and I really don't think I will continue to watch Humsafars if that happens. I love romance and drama but don't have the patience for this kind of nonsense. So fingers crossed :)
LOve your post Jun! Thats what I mean...when I say...you have to "feel" it. When one puts their judgement aside and "feels" thats where they see the real picture...Originally posted by: Junoonian
So yesterday I had expressed my disappointment at Arzoo keeping absolutely silent. I still think that she would have not harmed her cause of upholding Sahir's izzat and her waada to Zaki by saying that she was not pregnant.
But this is not to rehash that point of view. I was reading the various articles on the forum about today's episode and I have to say that I don't fully agree - I am making a bad habit of this am I not? My apologies - I don't mean to be contrary but I thought I will list my observations from today's episode, though I am sure Sush and Jyoti are going to present a much more balanced and detailed report. To start with according to me it was a really cool episode and the pre-cap was even more so. Looks like Sahir will not be in the dark for long about the pregnancy misunderstanding.
Let me get a bit personal here - I remember being madly in love in my early 20s - I stopped thinking and behaving logically for a while. I expected my boyfriend to understand me and read my mind and fulfill my unspoken needs and wishes. And when that did not happen cause the poor fella was no mind-reader, I would get so mad and disappointed. I'd rage. How could you? Why didn't you?' became part of my lexicon when arguing with him.
Arzoo today reminded me of that me. The one that is lashing out cause she is still hurt by Sahir's "Tumhare hone ya na hone se mujhe koi farak nahi padtha." She is also unfortunately carrying a rather large chip-on-the-shoulder courtesy her no-good, sleazebag father. It is almost like she is expecting to be let down sooner or later. Zaki and Alvira don't count - cause they don't matter to her that much. But Sahir matters. What he thinks matters... And very illogically, she expects him to know the truth despite her silence.
Even when he tries to explain to her logically despite his own heaving stormy emotions that you sometimes need to voice your truth (I am with you 100% on that Sahir) - all Arzoo can hear is his one phrase - "Sach kya hai?"
I am not sure if I imagined it but I thought Arzoo until then still believed that Sahir absolutely believed that she was not pregnant. He trusted her values. But that question was a bit of a punch in the stomach for her. Why is he asking this question? Shouldn't he just know? Just believe that she is not pregnant out of wedlock!
I could be wrong about the above interpretation. But this is what I perceived.
The fact that his trust in human kind and women in particular is already shaken to the core is a fact she is unaware of. The fact that he is not willing to believe the accusations against her blindly but is still hanging on to hope that she is trustworthy is something that at this point she is not even able to see, because; just like Sahir is blinded by the pain of his past and its shadows on his present; she is pained by the fact that she is deeply in love with a man who doesn't trust her implicitly. She is wrong about this. Any other man in his place would have judged her. He has not. But she is too emotional to see this - that is what I perceived.
Arzoo is of course a very demanding lover. She is demanding 100% trust but she is not willing to extend the same to Sahir. She wants him to understand her, despite all her actions... but she is not willing to understand him, despite all his actions.
However Sahir is no different. He is an equally demanding lover. He will keep harping on hadd and limits (understandable given his past) but is so in love that he himself is not able to keep his emotions, hands, eyes or words within limits. He is constantly sending out confusing signals to her. His eyes tell her something. His words tell her something else.
I loved the Saaz scene today. It was full of emotions, passion and angst. What I realised is that neither of them are ever going to be logical and well-behaved with each other - they are too much in love. Poor babies. I just wanted to hold them and say "Don't worry... it's all gonna be ok." I am ok with holding Sahir alone too ;p but yeah... let's not get side-tracked.
But seriously I do hope that there is no unnecessary twist in the form of an engagement or nikah between Zaki-Arzoo or Sahir-Sam. That would be the pits cause I really don't think I can handle this particular knife being twisted beyond a point. That would put me off. But yes the pre-cap did point to Sahir coming to know about Zaki and Sam's love affair and that Rehman wants the two to be hitched. I am loving the parents in this show - not Arzoo's though.
Alvira and Rehman are so committed to getting their bachchas hitched to their humsafars.
Look forward to what you guys have to say about this POV.
AND I have to say this - and this is something I am sure no one will argue with - Harshad Chopra's eyes!! Man they emote. Like Anne Sexton said, "I like you; your eyes are full of language."
@true2heart - thank you for your response.
Good to see posts from Arzoo's POV and positive ones at that. Two people, desperately in love, totally invested in each other and yet blind enough not to see what's in front of them, They both are stubborn, bull headed and hurt each other the only way two people who are deeply in love can. Each one complements the other, she is young impulsive and has a never say die spirit, he is mature, has a lot of darkness in his soul and has a past that is a guarded secret. She is the light in his life, she makes him laugh, think and react, he in turn supports her wherever she needs him and helps her to take her dreams forward.
Exactly! You just phrased it perfectly.
Each one is a puzzle to the other, they say something with their words but their eyes always whisper their hidden emotions for each other. No wonder Arzoo says that if he can't see the truth in her eyes there is no point in carrying on the conversation. Arzoo's antics and caring has cracked the shell he has lived in the past 7 years, Sahir knows that and feels terribly vulnerable so he tells her to keep away but his body language and eyes tell a different story.
I love those words whisper their hidden emotions...'
What struck me was that Arzoo is not a weakling, just like Sahir is used to not explaining his actions and decisions to anybody, she too being the eldest in the family does the same most of the times. When Alvira asks the family to shift to Niyamat house, the mother says they will have to ask Arzoo first. When Arzoo throws her father and his wife out of Niyamat house, Nausheen cries but does not question Arzoo or ask for explanation. Arzoo is used to being in control, thats why I think I find today's episode very endearing, infact I would have been disappointed had she stopped to confide in Sahir after the incident between them yesterday.
A very valid point this. I did not even think of this point.
When he accuses of her wearing a mask, pushes her on the floor and asks her not to pretend concern about him,, she is not going to meekly tell him the truth just to console him. He told her to stay in limits and that she doesn't matter to him when she asked about his past so if he wants her to turn to him, to trust him, well he will have to earn it or find out the truth the hard way, She doesn't know that he has misinterpreted her and Zaki's interactions, she is simply hurt that he needs to question her when he should have learnt to trust her enough to know that she wouldn't do anything that would bring disrepute to him or his family.
Yes she is a toughie. She is no silly doormat - one of the reasons her being silent the other day took me aback.
Sahir and Arzoo set the screen on fire when they come together and I just love their interaction. I loved the way he called her as Arzoo nausheen Khan, in the earlier episodes Arzoo used his full name whenever she was vexed with him and wanted his complete attention. He is vexed too and its just so adorable that he uses the same tactics to gain her attention. They are two imperfectly perfect people only made for each other, who else would tolerate two crazies like them?
Yeah - that was a nice subtle touch - calling her by her full name. Wonder what he will call her when he is mad at her after they get hitched.
And who can tolerate these two imperfectly perfect people? I think a forum full of fans hahhaha - but yes, jokes apart... I don't see anybody else being able to handle Sahir or any other guy being able to get to Arzoo the way he does.
Alvira was totally spot on today, totally loved her, she was the only voice of sanity in the whole mad house. Loved the way she sent Arzoo to Sahir's room, knowing very well that he will seek explanations. She also confidently threw out the maulana and challenged KA to scheme something else. She is playing the role of cupid beautifully and I love her for being the catalyst of bringing SAAZ together.
I know everyone is convinced that she is upto something and most times even I feel that way. But yesterday I saw genuine concern for Arzoo in her eyes and the only reason she can deeply care for Arzoo is cause she wants Arzoo for Sahir... ergo... she cares for Sahir. And she obviously hates Zeenat.
