Every hero in a Gul show has a father with a roving eye and mistress/second wife. So I will not be surprised if it happens here too.

The black toast...that was weird...but then hey Asad liked Black coffee...so Gul is still consistent.

I am still waiting for more of the story to unfold and more characters to be introduced to pass a verdict.

Aap aaye rang aaye is berang si post main.

I would say not bad to the first two episodes.
She should get it right this time.
Enough experiments have taken place.

very lovely analysis ..
At the moment, yes Sahir himself and his whole life comes off as nothing but BLACK. the clincher would be that he can go to an extent where he would not care about the law and burn the factory down.
The life which he percieves obviously cannot be one's self characteristics, but seems like it was his choice, he chose this kind of life for himself, he himself eradicated any option of happiness from his life, he tends to be very merciless and also not ask mercy from anyone else .
Eventhough he RESPECTS and cares for his mother, her words and orders can make him oblige, but still there is an awkwardness, his mother knows about it, there definitely is a mystery in their relationship also.

He is forcing himself into a dark world. he must be having very painful past in his life.

She too has dark past but she keeps herself outside that darkness.

this contrasting concept is interesting

Thanks. :)
The shark feels that the end justifies the means.
He wants that karkhana gone at all cost.
Yes, he is merciless. I am looking forward to the mystery behind all this.
So far his character sketch is very intriguing and HC is doing a very good job.

I am not saying they were bad as such...but I was hoping for more for some reason. And the FL is still quite annoying to me since she seems to scream a lot.

Yes she has experimented but she still remains the same old Stubborn woman. You know she is playing around with the pyar ki qurbani and halala track in QH2 right? Yes she spared the leads but still...

Whenever I start watching new show I always find some posts in Forum that draws me to read it even though it is long. I think in this forum it is you. Very lovely analysis.

Something really big has happened with him in past that he has become stone hearted and ruthless. He does not even allow anyone to come close to him. I think Sahir himself has created wall around him so no one can hurt him again and take advantage of it.

I feel like I am trying hard to like Humsafars. There is too much consistency in how Gul creates her characters and weaves her story. So, while Asad was the Black Coffee type guy, Sahir is eating Burnt Toast, which I think is very very very weird. I feel as if Gul has taken her juxtapositions, her "symbolism", her "contrasts" way too far this time, and a bit over the top. They are very evident, because they shout out at you from the rooftop. There is nothing subtle about these comparisons. And, this is what I disliked. It's like she is trying to shove them to me, push them through my throat. Ah, how I miss the subtle contrast of ZGH, for that matter.

So far, I feel like Humsafars doesn't offer anything new to someone who has not watched a Gul show. I will wait and watch, but I see "Gul" written over every scene, every character. And, Allah knows, that the "Allah knows" is also a bit annoying! :) As is the "three word" name of the lead male character. :). Haan, naam mein wazan hai, but well, lol.

But, like I said, I am willing to give this a few weeks. If I still feel that I am compelling myself to watch it, I'll pass. If she grips my attention, Gul I mean, I am sold.

Black and Colourful!😉
What I liked was the emphasis on how Arzoo is so un- kashaf. Her bitter experiences have not made her judgemental. She is willing to give life a chance...except when it comes to letting that crucial soul mate controlling her destiny- she will avoid that at all costs!

Some cliche'd contrasts- the rains, the mango, the burnt toast...

This man is mysterious...he is not an angry young man- therein lies the newness in the script. I felt it from the promo. He is not arrogant like ASR or judgemental like Asad. He is sad...resigned..depressed, like someone pointed out. But that does not keep him down-..he has just turned himself into this cold, emotionless person!

The middle sister: Reminds me of Ekta- heroines' sisters...they are dangerous husband snatchers!😲 😆

Liked the dadi better after yesterday's epi- she favours the second granddaughter.

Rivs,

Agree with a lot of what U have written. I have the same problem with the screaming lead...but she seems confident and hard working. Her diction is perfect for theatre...I guess she has to get used to acting to a camera. Overall, I feel she will get better.

What about QH2? What halaala track???😕 If U R talking about Haya, I think it is just divorce and remarriage.Who cares, anyway!🥱😆
