Humsafars pilot episode did what it was supposed to do, it started on a strong note. Sahir Azeem Chaudhary and Arzoo Nausheen Khan made a place in our hearts. To say the least I am cautiously intrigued. It will highlight, sadly still prevalent issue of a male child Vs female child.
The pilot episode gives me feels of ZGH+QH+IPK packaged into one. I am curious to see how they solve the prevalent issue of male vs female. Easy to show a strong lead in the beginning, but easier to convert into a housewife later. Yes, I am cautious. But twice bitten, always shy!

So we get the glimpse into the lives of the main characters.
It starts against the backdrop of a dhobighat in Lucknow and the essence of the city was beautifully captured with it's signature darwazaas and the kind. The Dupattas were put to good use throughout the episode.
Yes, I liked that they shot on location. And, now we can continue to see these shots throughout the series, :). There is something I just love about outdoor, on location shoots, and specially when they capture the not so "famous" or smaller cities, not just the metros.
Scooty Vs. Beamer, struggle for the basic necessities of life Vs. getting everything at any cost, The stark difference in their social status and lifestyle is clearly established.
STARK DIFFERENCE! Too overtly portrayed.
Shivya Pathania brilliantly portrays vivacious, lively, talented girl from Lucknow.
She is talented no doubt. :)
He is the Shark ! strong willed, driving, determined, ambitious, and pioneering. He seeks success in everything he is pursuing, Failure is not an option for him.

Arzoo comes from a broken home, She was raised by her mom and Dadi. The longing for her dad is still there in her mom. The younger sister is just that ...the bubbly younger sister. The Dadi comes across as a very interesting character. Ashrafi will come in handy later.:):)
She comes from a broken home, and has issues to deal with. Yet, somehow her family is complete. Kuchh na hoke bhi she has everything. Sahir on the other hand has everything, yet an emptiness engulfs him. A bitter, emptiness.
Arzoo has knotted her duppatta which will be unknotted after her arzoos for her family, the dreams have been realized.
This was my favorite scene. I used to do that when I was younger! :)
Arzoos family looks very comfortable in misery and Sahir looks miserable in comfort also.
He needs her to put colors in his Black and White life.
I just said that above. And we know who is going to do that. :) The one good thing I like about this show though is that Gul and Gorky are pitching it as a lovestory. So hopefully there will be no Razias, Tanus, Dough in Hair, Chicken Blood etc.
The Bulldozer reached the point of no return. The Symbolism here is that..."For some people, "the point of no return" begins at the very moment their souls become aware of each other's existence."Destiny entwined their lives together. The supposed destroyer becomes the savior. Knight in shining Armor rescued our Damsel in distress in the very first episode. Sigh! Knight in shining armor. OTT but yes, the fact that they have an incomplete life that they will help each other complete is kind of established. Let's see.
These stories of Gul Khan always ring true to most of us. Another perfectly flawed hero, who has a dark past. The mysteriously layered character ...whose layers will slowly unravel. GK is exceptional with multi-layered characters. The many facets of SAC will gradually come to the fore.
Honestly, I wouldn't say that the character is mysterious. It seems very forced to me. She should tone down the "layers" a bit.
Hate at first sight... will turn into love forever.
I just wish that she keeps it memorable and realistic within the confines of a daily soap.

Harshad Chopda rocked as Sahir. His Voice is simply wow! Shivya Pathania did not disappoint. Though the K from the epiglottis needs some practice.
He was good. Surprisingly. May be Shivya didn't get a diction training? :)
I would like to reiterate the fact that we all know that GK never goes wrong with the casting. The Chemistry pulls at heartstrings. The intricately woven romance and angst will be a treat to watch.
I can't wait to hear the background score. I am always hooked to all her Mitwas, Junoons, Mahi... Rabba Ve... etc.! I hate the eye locks and falls and trips... but just to hear the music I can endure them.

So what do you all think was it worth the hype and enthusiasm? Do we have a winner from 4 lions once again? For now I am onboard !!!!
Winner may be. But I think the episode did not live upto the hype for me.
