New Delhi, April 13 -- TV and films are full of adolescents being like adults. They talk sex, have serial relationships, lie & live lives indiscernible from their favourite filmstars. Some who are more grown-up than grown-up:
Shruti Bisht, 10: This child played the lead character in TV serial Hitler Didi, that of an unusually headstrong and hot-tempered child. Among other things, her character called her father by his full name and posed questions such as "What is a sexual relationship" with an unnerving cheekiness.
Jannat Rahmani, 10: This child actress played the lead in the TV show Phulwa, loosely based on the turbulent and violent life of dacoit-turned-politician Phoolan Devi. Then eight, Rahmani played the child Phoolan, married off to a man three times her age.
Avika Gor, 15: She became popular as child bride Anandi in TV serial Balika Vadhu. She is now essaying the role of a 21-year-old married to a 33-year-old on daily soap Sasural Simar Ka. Playing a married woman on screen mean elaborate costumes and make-up and dramatic and emotional scenes relating to everything from household chores to her relationship with her husband and her tussles with her mother-in-law.
