So, Indira was Miss India. Woh Rishi ko dikhayi nahin deti aur Indu ko sunayi nahin deti.
Today's epi was a loop closure of sorts. Zara's haste to get out of Delhi was set off by Rishi's clinging on to the idea that his Shrimatiji was alive. Zara's incomplete actions (toward removing Indira from her path) led to the fateful conclusion of her real intentions being revealed. Moral of this story: Never leave things half done.
Today's epi had an awesome, classic line from Meher that further explains why Zara is so clingy. She told Zara something to the effect that she cannot hold on to any man. First Malik and now Rishi. Therefore, she is unfit to be called a woman. Where this came from, I don't know. But it loops back to an earlier epi in which Zara had told Indira "Rishi ke jaisa pyaar karne wala mushkil se milta hai." Point is that she loves and needs Rishi, but she isn't willing to include in her life the people who are important to him. Maybe that's an overstatement. She would have been okay with Indu and the Sharma parivaar because they do not stake the same kind of claim on him. Sad part is that she is a very sketchy character and we know very little about her back story. Insufficient to explain why she turned psycho.
Rishi and his rooh are in full on active mode. Today's episode belonged to Rishi in the sense that for a character who almost never asserts himself, today's episode had him showing Zara some attitude. He knew something was amiss with regard to his Shrimatiji's death and was determined to not let Zara cloud his judgment. I wish he did this more often. Yesterday, when Kutumb was insulting him, there was none of this attitude. Why? Was he really dependent on Indira's finances? Was he not Indira's sole emotional anchor? Why let someone like Kutumb trample your emotions? But anyway, he is really in an unenviable position. He loved Indira only to witness her suffer brain tumour. He thought she was dead and married Shweta. She walked out on him (let's put the reasons aside). He loved Zara. She turned out to be a psycho who convinced him that Indira was dead. It was untrue, but for that time, he had to live with the idea that he had lost his beloved once more. However unbelievable and unreal these events are, I don't know how emotionally strong a person must be to repeatedly bear the separation and loss of a beloved.
I would like to know what he'll do now. Precap suggests that he is going to return to Chandni Chowk with Indira. He'll marry her again, I suppose. There should be a simple court marriage this time. Every time there is a mandap and a pandit, there is disaster.
I also hope they give Zara a fitting farewell. She deserves it.
Edit: Meher's character ended with a slap today. Inder will be forlorn.
