compant details--In the said episode, a girl, who has been
raped, is subjected to interrogation. The
advocate asks her questions like "Aapka
rape kab hua?", "Aapko maza aya ki
nahi?". This is violation of a woman's
dignity.

The BCCC reviewed the said episode and found the content
objectionable. Moreover, the humiliation of the rape victim, as
depicted in the serial, was appalling. The BCCC had the
apprehension that if such were the depiction of rape trial, women
would find it hard to approach the Courts for redress. The BCCC
was of the view that portrayal of a rape trial in this fashion was
demeaning to women.
The BCCC directed that a Notice be sent to the Channel.It was
decided to call the Channel for a hearing on 25th May 2012.
In its reply, the Channel said the intention of the courtroom scene,
where the rape victim is interrogated, was to show the woman
lawyer, representing the accused, in a negative light. It said that in
the subsequent episodes, the rape victim won justice. The BCCC,
however, told the Channel's representative that it was a
misrepresentation of the legal system and could have negative
consequences. The Channel apologised for the lapse. The
Channel was told that such a depiction would deter rape victims
from seeking justice. The BCCC asked the Channel not to re telecast
the episode in the future.
