Okay, so it is not at the top of the trp charts and it hasn't whipped the audience into a frenzy, but it is FAR from an average show. Agreed that the CVs need to be a bit more consistent with the tracks in general but I do applaud the makers of the show for not trying stupid gimmicks just to bring in the audience. They seem to have faith in the simplicity of the show and that I appreciate.
And as far as trps are concerned, the whole thing with trps is so over- rated yaar đ First off, high trps doesn't automically mean the show is of good quality- and a show with lower trps doesn't have to mean that the show is not of a good standard. How many trashy films do we see becoming box office success and how many good films lose out on a Friday. Yeh sab chalta hai. But let me just highlight a very important point- HD trps have been pretty consistent. There has not been a severe decline or significant dip in the ratings and has been going steady. Indeed trps can increase and who says they won't?! I have full faith that it will ;)
I don't know what is wrong with the media but it can be a bit unkind towards HD and it's hard to fathom. Rather than picking on HD perhaps they should look at other shows on television right now that frankly speaking, I wouldn't watch even if I was paid to do so because some shows (general statement) are recycling the same old stuff over and over again. Gimme HD any day where the show explores human relations and its complexities...and gimme a headstrong India Sharma any day over a decked up christmas tree bahu. And finally gimme a unique love story between Rishi and Indira any day where they pull us in with their sheer talent and nothing else- no nautanki, no breaking into song and dance...just pure perfomance.
So my humble request to critics, just back off! đ
Side note: when I said "other shows," that was a general statement. I hope no one takes offense as that was not my intention :)
