But all in all, in many respects at least, Sev was 100X times better than James, and I'd choose a guy more like Sev. He was 9 when he saw her red hair fly, he was in love, haye. He loved her for basically his whole life ji, and that is soooooo aaawwww(yup I'm a sap lol). His patronous, his life for those green eyes, haye. He protected Harry who looked like James from head to toes, the guy he hated most, only b/c he had Lily's eyes.

His love for lily was somehow more strong.. I love the way you expressed id!👏

I don't dig the James/Lily pair, but I prefer Snape single like this. I just love the way his love was. A confused soul that never understood how to express the love 😭

Mostly I go with canon pairings unless it's a pairing I've come to love for a character before they got paired off happily with some other character, i.e. Harry/Ginny because I had been pairing him off with Draco (the "thin line between love and hate" got me going on that one) even before Harry started noticing Ginny as anything other then Ron's sister.

Same here.. Draco-Ginny is my all time fav pairing till now.. Fire meets ice..😳

Seeing as I read the first four books in one sitting I never really gave a thought to the pairings introduced (James/Lily, Arthur/Molly, Ron/Hermione, Lucius/Narcissa etc...). Any pairing made after that (unless they're both new characters) were not really taken as lightly by me since between the release of the fourth and the fifth book I had time to pair off the more prevalent characters and I don't usually change my mind. One pairing kindof sticks...

So now that I've rambled for half a page. 😆😳 I don't think I can see a Severus Lily pairing ever working but maybe that's 'cause I'm just used to the idea of James and Lily. *shrugs* Don't get me wrong, I've never been a James fan and after the fifth book, one can say I even dislike him. Me being a huge Severus fan, one can guess why that is.

I don't mind reading unrequited Snape mooning about Lily sometimes, if its written well but I can't read Lily reciprocating since I'm a very canon-fixated person and what's non-canon....and disagrees with it....well...it disagrees with me 😉 😆

i agree but i dont find snape obsessive or fanatic..he just loved lily and was attracted towards her bcoz i think only lily understood him..
