Yaar look at it...See what James did to Snape at School..agreed James did it just for fun in the spirit of a student just jokin sense and he really was a good man..But see thats not the way Snape took it...Dumbledore always said--"Its funny the way Human mind works"---Snape was broought up in a very miserable household..his dad n mom never got together well...n his life was all Hogwarts as Harry sais "Hogwarts was home to orphans like Him,Riddle and Snape"...N at that home, he was miserably treated by some fellow student...can u actually blame him??? N that debt he had to James burned his insides--IT IS COMPLETELY NATURAL! If I was him(Lol..I can never he the great brave man he turned out to be!!!😆 ) I wud have reacted the same way...and to add to all that Lily married James--James whom he hated..Lily whom he loved with all his heart! N Harry always reminded him of James---Harry was the son of James and Lily...the woman whom Snape loved sooo much---he reminded him of his own loss! Of his own misery!

Mate...There is no way Snape is a bad charactre...He is one of the best of the characters in he book and I completely love him for that sheer Bravery that he showed to protect the boy whom he hated...n that true nd PURE love for the only woman he ever loved!👏

i agree completely, previously i thought him to be a mean person but aftr reading this buk i actually like him.My eyes were also watery at the scene when snape asks harry to look him in the eye one last time.......so tht he cld see lily's eyes/reflection befor he dies(*sniff sniff)

hi, just finished the book myself and i amm still reeling under its effects....

i personally have mixed feelings about the book.

for one it is more fast paced than the rest and yet it is shorter. yes jk rowling has complete mastery over her characters and has spelt out her story with wonderful control and wrapped up all the lose endings. in fact no detail is a useless detail. all have been brought together...

but as usual i have to read some bits again to understand them better....

like the confusion surrounding the elder wand. how did harry know for sure that draco was using the wand he (draco) had confiscated from dumbledore. in book six he is supposed to be disarming dumbledore and had no idea about the power of dumbledore's wand. what if draco had been using his own band and had just discarded the bend he got from dumbledore.... maybe harry had the details of elder wand but it is not mentioned is it?? how come harry is allowed to enter voldemort's thoughts and the other did not use it at all, though in book 5 voldemort used it to lure harry into the ministry where sirius was killed.... we did guess right about snape. but dumbledore has been pulled down from his glorious heights. i feel sorry for the man, especially when he has to appear as an angel to defend himself. the twist at the king cross is "out of this world". vey un- jk rowling. almost like an after thought when the whole world was begging her not to kill harry.
  • the last chapter was really mushy. ok, now, no one can bring voldemort back to life but as many have suggested here... james potter junior seems very hero material and another villain can pop up on the horizon...😆

by the way how many of you feel that similarities between lord of the rings and potter series have grown!!

I can't be mad at snape anymore... I understand him and admire his courage.. no one is perfect, and Snape was on Dumbledore's side and saved harry's life a few times..

He hated James because Lily had married him.

I'm not yet on the part where fred, lupin and tonks dies.Or dobby. Harry is now at Lovegood's house... Really cant wait till i get home!! 😡

I'm sure victouire is Fleur and Bill's daughter, afterall she is the cousin of James and she has a little French name.. I laughed when I saw that Malfoy called his son Scorpio... 😆

I was wondering the same.

when Harry could look into Voldermorts mind why didnt the opposite happen esp when Harry couldnt perform occlumency.

I was not too pleased with the epilogue instead I would preferred for the epilogue to be 3-4 years later with harry-ginny and ron/hermione wedding attended by the rest as a fitting end ..........

Snape was the best though, for all the hatred he had for James and Harry yet he still did his duty and protected Harry at every path just for his undying love for Lily showed how much he loved her.

He not only saved Dumbeldore with his potions and stuff , he saved Harry, protected him, saved remus from the death eater, served voldermort simultaneoulsy undercover........send the doe ......I mean he did everything , even lost his life. I think his was the best character, I admire him more than Dumbeldore coz his character was more complex in the sense how difficult would it have been for him to protect the kid whose father he hated the most and the mother he loved the most.

hats off to Snape

i really feel that jkr made a lot of compromises towards the end and her heart was not in it. the epilogue especially seems so half heartedly done. doesn't show the same intimate contact with her characters as the rest of her books do... maybe you are right. there was no need to bring the kids in. it would have sufficed to know that they completed their studies, took up some jobs they preferred and healed slowly together as they limped back to normal lives...

okay...now im confused

on her website, in the FAQ section, JKR says that wen a secret-keeper dies,
no one else can tell other people the secret anymore. those the secret
keeper told were the only ones hu wud know. they cudnt tell other people
either. so in dumbledore's case, wen he died, no one cud tell the death
eaters where the location of the OoTP headquarters was. only those
dumbledore told directly wud know but in the book, the members of the
order do not use number 12 as their headquarters cuz snape knows the
location and they are afraid snape might tell the death eaters. they said that
those dumbledore told had now become the secret-keepers.

so which is it really???

Ok I think I have some answers to a few questions...but I am also stumped about a few myself...

the question about the Elder wand...how Harry figures it out is that when Dumbledore tells him at Kings cross that the night he died his wand recognised another Owner of the wand...and later when Harry is talking to Voldy he tells him that even though Draco never laid a hand on it, the wand's Master was still Draco and since Draco lost his wand in turn to Harry the Elder wand becoms Harry's......and remember how Voldy goes to Hogwarts and opens Dumbeldore's grave and takes his wand from there...I think Harry is going to put the wand back there in his Tomb...This is what I think...

And about the person who does magic late...well I dont know who that can be...

And who gets Voldy's wand back from James house when he looses his body???😕

And also I am completely thrown off about the Secret keeper thing...I remember on her website JKR said that the secret dies with the Keeper...but in the book she says that everybody that Dumbledore told the secret inturn becomes a secret keeper...it was'nt convincing....

But overall the book was AMAZING!!!!!! worth the wait and I will be reading and re reading it several times... 👏 👏 👏

Edited for spellings😉

OOps posted twice..so i deleted the other one..

Actually I have one more question...when snape was dying ebcause of the snake bite.. Hermione was right behind Harry and she had her white bead purse with her in which she had Dittany which she gave to Harry when he was struck by nagini in Godric's Hollow...so why didnt she do the same to Snape????....because Harry wanted to save Peter Pettigrew even...so i think Snape deserves atleast trying....
