American Harry Potter editor Arthur Levine recently participated in a book panel for Scholastic, in which he discussed what about JK Rowling's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone manuscript made it stand out from the rest when he first read it almost a decade ago. His main points were that she wrote a story that she genuinely wanted to write, she invested a great deal of time into it, and she refused to allow several other publishers's rejections discourage her. A video of the book panel is available at Scholastic's website. |
