Discussion of the Week – Snape.

This week's discussion is going to be on Snape, and whether he's innocent or not—did he want to kill Dumbledore, or did Dumbledore make him do it? Also, we'll be discussing his role as a spy—he told Dumbledore he was a spy for him, but he also told Voldemort that he was a spy for him—which one is it, really?

Post your opinions on this week's discussion, and any other comments you may have about Snape—this discussion will close in one week.

I used to hate Snape before, but now I think he's innocent. The argument that he had with Dumbledore, I think it was about him killing Dumbledore. Dumbledore wanted Snape to kill him, because if he didn't Snape would have to die instead, since he had made the Unbreakable Vow. Dumbledore trusts him completely, and Dumbledore can't be wrong. Dumbledore was using Lupin to find out info about the Death Eaters/Voldemort through other werewolfs, just as he was asking Snape to find out more in debt info about Voldemort by making Snape prove to Voldemort that he's trustworthy..

Also, Snape was helping Harry all throughout the sixth book, by teaching him all the new spells, by being the Half Blood Prince.. He didn't do it directly, but he did help him, rite? And, Harry, who could never do nonverbal spells, could easily do nonverbal spell written in the book, all, I think, by the help of Snape.. Otherwise, why would Snape leave his such valuable book just lying around?

These r just my opinion tho, ans sorry if it's too long. 😛

Well, as for me, I've never been particularly fond of Snape. He has been downright evil to Harry. However, I do believe he's innocent—Dumbledore, for his own reasons, needed (can't say 'wanted'!) to be killed. Only Dumbledore, Snape and the almighty J.K. Rowling knows why. I also think that Snape is on the good side, and he's spying on Voldemort for Dumbledore. I've learnt to trust Dumbledore (can't be a wiser man!), and if he says Snape has redeemed, then Snape has redeemed. As Lupin says—it all comes down to whether you trust Dumbledore—I trust Dumbledore, therefore I trust Snape. I know Dumbledore trusts people too easily, but he's a wise man, he couldn't have been fooled for so long. So, even though I don't have a particular fondness towards Snape, that doesn't mean he is Dumbledore's killer—after all, not everyone needs to like Harry Potter, and just because he doesn't does not automatically make him 'the bad guy'—he has his faults, just like everyone else, and God knows after what James put him through, any guy would be bitter towards his son. Snape's not a nice guy—but he's got his good qualities, and I do believe he was faithful to Dumbledore.

I agree with you achal.... Snape as a spy on dumby is way to valuable to the order than Dumby himself maybe. Maybe thatz why he allowed himself to be killed.

We've seen already that Dumbledore is an unmatched wizard. The full extent of his powers though not shown but is quite evident by the fact that he dosen't need a wand to do magic. (the spell/enchantments he placed on the walls at hogwarts). I don't think killing such a wizard will be such an piece of cake even for an higly accomplished wizard like snape (oh common we all knew he was making spells even before he left school/or shall i say even be4 he gave his N.E.W.T.s.)

So all in all I disbelive the fact that Professor Serveus Snape Head of Slytherin House at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy is guilty of Deceit and Cheating.

BTW what do you think can there be something between Snape and Lily. Maybe it was one-sided. after R/H H/H shipping how bout this Snape/Lily, James/Lily, or even Lupin/Lily for that matter.

regards,

tejas

I just hate him right now. I don't believe him to be innocent. He broke Dumbledore's trust. He's an evil man 😭 He killed him. 😭
I used to sympathise with him earlier. I felt bad for him. But after reading the 6th book, there's no doubt in my mind that Snape is evil 😭

Come Book 7's release, it would probably come as a shock to us that in all likelihood, Snape will be innocent.

It could have been some grand plan b/w himself and Dumbledore to show Voldemort that he (Snape) was still a Death Eater or still on the side of bad or just plainly that his loyalty still stood with Voldemort (or sort of).

Irrespective of saying this, I personally do not like Snape.....never did, still don't and never ever will. Nothing that he will ever do now will ever redeem himself in my eyes. Even if Dumbledore is somehow resurrected in Book 7 by JK Rowling, my dislike for Snape will never waver.

He has been nothing but downright nasty and horrible to Harry since day 1.....even if he never liked James Potter in their days, Snape has absolutely no right to treat Harry badly....that is merely a sign of immaturity (yeah even at Snape's age)!!!

I feel fierce dislike for Snape with the same intensity that I love Ron (and that is quite alot)!

i totally agree with u but i dont think dumby is dead, they just pretended all that so voldy would think snape was still on his side, and so the one he madfe the unbreakable vow to would think that he had killed dumby and he wouldnt die😛
