Hmmm. I have no idea if BANG is a reliable newspaper because I've never heard of it, but maybe some folks in Canada could tell us... Mystica?

As for that, I doubt JKR would tell Jim Dale... she said she doesn't tell even her husband about details in Harry Potter, I really doubt she would tell Jim Dale. And if she DID happen to tell Jim Dale, he definitely wouldn't go public with it - he has too much to risk, he just wouldn't.

The article makes it sound like JKR is really frustrated/tired of Harry and wants to get rid of him by killing him in the books. Surely JKR is smarter than that - she obviously knows that killing a fictional character is probably not going to rid her of Harry, because there will just be too, too much evidence that there was something called Harry Potter. And anyway, I don't think JKR is even frustrated/tired of Harry... sure, she may get exhausted writing books, but she writes it with such a passion, I can't see her hating/not liking Harry.

I'm not saying that Harry won't die - as far as I'm concerned, there's still that 50% possibility that he will. All I'm saying is that if he DOES die, it's just a coincedence with this article - I'm 98% sure that this article is false.

Again, maybe some people in Canada can advise us on the authencity of BANG?

i live in Canada and have not even heard of BANG

LONDON: If rumours are to be believed then the world's most popular boy wizard Harry Potter may die in the next book.

Actor Jim Dale, the voice of the teenage wizard in the US audio books, believes the seventh and final instalment will spell the end for Harry.

He made the astonishing claim after meeting with the writer to discuss his characterisation of the parts.

"She's lived with Harry Potter so long she really wants to kill him off," he was quoted by the Mirror, as saying.

Predictions about the fate of Harry in the seventh book have enthralled millions worldwide.

No name or publication date have yet been released, although it is expected by early 2007 at the latest. Rowling has already revealed she has written its last chapter, in which Harry and his pals come of age.

Dale did not expand on how the teenager meets his fate, but Rowling has hinted either he or arch enemy Voldemort may die.

Uhhh...I don't know if she would just announce it. I mean, it is the end. She didn't tell anyone that Dumbledore was going to die, why would she tell us Harry would die?
