I hope he isnt dead. Cuz he is one of my fav characters. He is just so nice. I hope Sirus comes bak too. like other ppl said. He is Harry's god father. Actually I am still on book 4. 😳 I just stared reading harry potter books. N now I am addicted to them. 😊

Accept the reality! Dumbledore is dead! It is not that I don't like Dumbledore. He is actually my favourite charater in all Harry Potter books. I like him even more than Harry Potter himself. I like him since he has shown his greate wisdom and caring love during the conversation with Harry in front of the Mirror of Erised.
Actually, I felt greate relief when I read the reasons why Dumbledore is not dead. They sound very valid after all. But later, I realised that I was lying to myself for I didn't want to face the reality that Dumbledore is dead. It is very sweet to lie yourself but accept the reality!
Here are my reasons why Dumbledore is really dead(forgive me, I cannot give exact quotes from the books, though). Before I continue, let me say that "I really hope he is not dead".

I don't think Dumbledore stunned Harry according to a greate plan because they were caught by surprise. If you really read his conversation with Malfoy, he noticed that Malfoy was trying to kill him a long time ago. But he realised that Rosmerta was controlled by Imperius curse only then. So, we can conclude that Dumbledore reached the tower not due to a great plan and so didn't stunning Harry. Remember that Dumbledore himself is not perfect. He made mistakes. And he was too worried about Harry shown by many situations where he did not let Harry risk his life and risked his own instead. And, he knew Harry tends to act out of love and didn't want anymore possibilities of Harry risking his life to save him. He pritorized Harry life.

There can be many reasons why Fawkes didn't try to save Dumbledore. We read Fawkes saved Dumbledore only once! Not always! I also have already proved that Dumbledore could not plan to tell Fawkes not to save him because he and Harry were caught by surprise.

You cannot take it for granted that just because a person died in a different manner than the rest, he is not hit by killing curse. The spells were casted by different people. So, can we guarantee that the results must be exactly the same?

And yes, you need to mean it to use unforgivable curses. Of course, Snape meaned it as Harry could see hatred in his face.

I also read proof concerning Madam Phomfrey amazement hearing the Phoenix song. But, you all must realise that Madam Phomfrey is not portrayed as the greatest healer. When Professor McGonagall was hit by four stunning spells, she could not cure it, remember? So, we can't really assume that she gulped because she recognized something special in phoenix song. Even if she did, she would have tell the others while everyone was desperately wanting Dumbledore back.

Dumbledore's wand is not a sound reason to say that he is not dead. We can consider that the wand was snapped according to the song. JK cannot write each and every single details(she didn't write that Harry took the Maradura Map back from Moody's office and assumed that it is understood, remember?).

I think Dumbledore really pledged Snape not to kill him. Not because he is afraid of death, but because he still have a lot of things to carry out for the good of wizarding world. He still had not found out the last Horcrux. Remember, "I alone must be strong...".

I have proved almost every reason why Dumbledore is not dead is wrong. The missing body and flammable Dumbledore are not-too-solid reasons where we can only suspect.

I also have my own reasons to prove Dumbledore death. JK usually hint the future in her writings. She hinted a lot about Dumbledore's death. Whenever Harry met Dumbledore, he was more tired than ever. And, Dumbledore, the greatest wizard, showed a lot of signs of weaknesses along the book 6. They are obviously death omens, aren't they?

Next, Dumbledore mentioned that the dead can never come back. This is the sign included by JK to tell the readers not to dream or hope for the died characters to come back.

Dumbledore had given all his knowledge about Voldemort to Harry. Now, if you realise, Harry is able to fight Voldemort without Dumbledore help(I mean Book 7 can continue without Dumbledore;and Harry need to show his talent; he cannot rely on Dumbledore throughout all the books).

But, we have one hope, the missing text in UK edition. I still don't have any valid ideas to go against it.

Finally, let me say that I really hope that my ideas are wrong.

Very nice points, Genuine HP Fan.. I too belice that Dumbledore is dead, even though I don't want him to be.. I have been to that site before, but even after reading it, I still believe that Dumbledore is dead.. First of all, Harry is supposed to be the hero of the book, so JKR probably made Dumbledore die in the sixth book, so that Harry can find all the hurcruxes himself, with maybe some help of Ron and Hermione, and so he can kill Voldemort, being the real hero.. And, like Genuine HP Fan said, JKR had pointed out couple of times that Dumbledore was getting weak.. Remember the argument Dumbledore and Snape had in the sixth book, that is a clue too.. Dumbledore was probably telling Snape to kill him, and Snape was probably against him.. And, before dying, Dumbledore was pleading to Snape, and he was probably asking Snape to kill him.. Otherwise, do you think that Dumbledore is the kind of person who would plead, something he had neer done in his life before, just to live?

But, even if he is dead doesn't mean that he won't be coming back.. I personally don't think that he is gonna come back in body form again, but we might be able to see him and other might be able to communicate with him through his portrait in the head master's room.. But, I don't think we'll se much of him, like we used to in other books.. But, I hope we'll be able to some of him.. I didn't want him to be dead either, but it is how it is..😭

dumbledore is definatley dead...thats for sure...this isn't one of ekta's stories when someone dies and come back later...j.k rowling has killed dumbledore...he was there with harry to uncover the truth but he wasn't going to be there for ever...it's such an easy plot if u think about it,rowling killed everyone who had the potential of helping harry...first sirius then dumbledore...the hero is supposed to accomplish the task alone because it's his destiny...each character plays his or her role but the final war will only be between voldemort and harry...now as for the "dumbledore is alive"theories..i have my explanations to prove them wrong.
1-dumbledore froze harry because he didn't want him to interept the conversation he was going to have with anyone...he knew he was weak and now that there were deatheaters in the school,there was chance that he would die.thus he wanted to make sure harry did nothing rash
2-i don't think fawkes is a big issue...everything that happened in the tower was sudden and fawkes usually came when someone showed real loyalty to dumbledore(as harry did in c.o.s)or when maybe dumbledore wanted him there(in Oopt)and anyways there is no way fawkes would sing the way it did in the end if dumbledore would not have died.
3-dumbledore was right at the edge of the tower when he was hit and was also weak thus he fell backwards...thats so logical.
4-snape had a different kind of hatred when he cast the spell...he wasn't actully hating dumbledore for who he was like voldemort when he casted it but he was full of hatred of what dumbledore was making him do and was hating him self for doing it...this is a strong feeling thus he was able to cast such a great curse.
in the end i'll just say that somehow dumbledore knew what would happen to him after snape made the unbreakable woe with dracos mother because either he could kill him or snape thus he saved draco for commiting such a big crime at such a young age beacause even though draco was spoilt and bad he was not evil...snape on the other hand was fully grown and if he killed dumbledore voldemort would think highly of him and would take him for granted as he killed the most powerful wizard whom even he couldn't kill,thus securing a plae close to him...I THINK DUMBLEDORE IS DEAD AND EVEN THOUGH SNAPE KILLED HIM HE IS STILL GOOD AND WOULD SOMEHOW HELP HIM IN THE END...but every one has there own opinions so feel free to make as many theories as you like until the truth is revealed.

but getting back to the point..... what I mean is I am unhappy too that Dumby's no more.... But there is no point sulking over it.... rite guys...

also this point (DUMBY's DEATH) has been discussed in this post N number of times.... I myself remember posting over this TOPIC in atleast 3 threads. The point I am trying to make here is let him (atleast fictionally) "REST IN PEACE"
