Harry scores over Arnie
Boy wizard from Hogwarts is voted over the Terminator II cyborg as the greatest fantasy hero
If you thought that pumping iron is the way to become popular, perhaps you might want to think again. The puny Harry Potter has been voted the greatest fantasy hero of all time overtaking muscleman Arnold Schwarzenegger for his role in Terminator II Judgement Day.
The Sci Fi channel had asked 1500 moviegoers to name the best fantasy and sci-fi heroes. The list included Buffy the Vampire Slayer at number three, Spiderman at four and Doctor Who at five. Neo from The Matrix and Spock from Star Trek also made it to the list as did Batman who stood at number ten. But there was no place for Luke Skywalker.
Among the villains, Darth Vader came top followed by the monster from the Alien films and The Borg from Star Trek. The Daleks were fourth, ahead of The Joker from the Batman films and Arnie's first outing as the Terminator. The Sci Fi channel commissioned the poll to mark its tenth birthday.
The survey also revealed 28 per cent of Britons believe proof of alien intelligence will become a reality within the next decade and per cent believe aliens will one day invade the earth.
