The Night before the storm
Chapter 9
They kept looking into each other's eyes. However, their thoughts were interrupted by the windows which opened due to the strong & gusty winds. Suddenly the lights went off. There was complete darkness. Arpita was scared of darkness. She panicked. Small drops of sweat streamed down her forehead.
Arpi- "A-Avdhesh.. a-are y-y-you there. Please don't leave me alone."
There was silence in the room.
"Avdhesh.. where are you?"
Still no response from him. Arpita slowly moved behind & She bumped into his hard chest. Avi quickly put his hands around her waist & held her protectively in his arms.
"Im here Arpita. I'm here. Don't worry. I will never you alone."
A faint smile appeared on Arpita's face. She enjoyed his presence. She knew Avdhesh wouldn't leave her alone. It seemed liked ages. Both of them stood in each other's arms.
It was almost 4 am. Arpita slowly opened her eyes. She was surprised to find herself in bed. All she remembered was that she was in Avi's arms.
"Avdhesh," she jumped out of bed & looked around, but she couldn't find him. Arpita heard some buzzing sound. She turned around & found her cell phone vibrating with the screen flashing AVDHESH. Before she could say something,
Avi- "You fell asleep in my arms that I didn't want to disturb you."
Arpita blushed. "So you left me on the bed & went away huh?"
Avi- "If I could, I would keep you in my arms. Forever.."
Arpi- "Oh Ho.. Well, Mr.Avdhesh, thank you very much. But I'd prefer sleeping on my bed."
Avi smiled, "Okay.. Now go & sleep. I want my angel to rest."
Next morning, Arpita as usual was on her way to college with RV.
RV- "Arpi, is there anything that is worrying you? I mean, Yo were quite tensed few days back.."
Arpi- "Oh Not at all RV. Im fine."
RV- "Are you sure?"
Arpi- "Yes."
RV- "Okay fine, lets go."
Both of them sit on RV's bike. Arpi put her hands on RV's shoulder just to make sure she doesn't fall. The bike jerked forward & Arpi almost fell on RV's back.
RV- "Oh Im so sorry Arpi. Are you alright?"
Arpi- "Yeah RV. Im fine. Let's go."
Unknown to them someone was quietly watching from a distance. Those eyes were dead set on Arpita.
"How could you do this Arpita? How could you?"
On reaching college, RV left Arpi outside the college & went to finish his work. Arpita began walking towards the college gate when suddenly a car stopped right in front of her. Through the tinted glass, she could see someone who brought a sweet smile on her face.
"Avdhesh"
Avi- "Get in."
Arpi- "Avdhesh.. I have to attend class."
Avi- "Your class begins at 9.00. You still have an hour. I need to talk to you. Its important."
Arpi- "Umm.. Okay."

Chapter- 10
As she got in the car, Avdhesh locked the doors & drove away.
Arpi- "So.. tell me."
Avi didn't reply. He just kept driving. Arpi was perplexed.
"Okay, atleast tell me where we're going?"
Avi- "You need not know that."
Arpi was furious.
"Avdhesh, first you bring me along & then you don't even tell me anything."
Avi found his temper rising.
"Will you just shut up? One more sound & you'll regret it."
Arpi was slightly scared. She didn't know why he was behaving like that. He was different today. The Avdhesh she met last night was a completely different person. She kept thinking about the reason as to why he behaved so rudely.
He thoughts were interrupted when Avi stopped the car in front of a small cottage. It was a secluded place. Not a soul could be seen around. He got off the car & signaled Arpita to do the same.
Arpi- "Where are we? Why have we come here?"
But Avi didn't answer her. He just grasped her wrist & pulled her along.
Arpi- "Hey.. you're hurting me."
She tried to free herself but his grasp was too strong. He didn't answer her & just kept moving towards the cottage.
Once they entered, Avi pushed Arpi inside & bolted the door. Arpi fell straight on the ground. She was furious.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?"
Avi- "What were YOU doing Arpita?"
Arpita was confused. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Avi just seized her wrist & pulled her in his arms.
"You don't know what I'm talking about?"
Arpi nodded her head sideways indicating NO. She was afraid to speak.
Avi- "Really?"
Before Arpi could say anything, Avi pushed her on the Bed. Arpi's dupatta slipped down. Avi slowly made his way towards Arpita. Arpi was terrified. Tears rolled down her pink cheeks.
Arpi- "Yeh tum kya kar rahe ho?"
Avi- "How dare you touch someone else when I'm here?"
Arpi realized that Avi must have seen her with her RV.
"Avdhesh, there's nothing like that. He is just my friend."
Avi roughly pulled her hair in such a way that her head tilted back thus revealing her slender neck.
"Friend? Don't you know that I cannot tolerate anyone even talking you & still you had the audacity to touch him? Listen Arpita, I hate anyone looking you. I'll kill that person who tries to touch you. You are meant for me. Only I have a right to touch what belongs to me."
He walked towards Arpita. He had a look that scared her. His lips curved into a smile. 'No. not a smile, a smirk.' Arpi was very scared. She knew there was something going on in his mind. Avdhesh took off his shirt & threw it on the floor.
