I had very low expectation of tonight's episode after getting the lowdown earlier.
It took me by surprise, shook me up and left me in tears with an aching heart.
I know what it takes to write fiction and etch a well rounded character. It is bloody hard, you could end up deleting months of hard work in one heartbeat because something just doesn't work no matter how many hours you put in or late nights. A character that one has empathy, sympathy as well as a lot of love, is very difficult to create but here the writers and creators have succeeded very successfully.... I liked the character of Avdesh very much from the begining, his shy smile and mischeivous looks drew something in me but I think tonight I fell in love with him.😳😉
The episode started off from where it finished on friday and I was completely hooked in because Avdesh was absolutely dynamite: charasmatic and very compelling in fact.👏
Dreams shattered:
Arpita was crying so much in her room, her only consolation was a picture of Avdesh. Seeing her tears, mine started flowing..... I could feel her sadness, the yearning for something lost which was just within her grasp...and now never may come back again.....once again she was reduced to holding a picture of the man she loved. Having tasted his nearness, his love...it was indeed the bitterest pill of all.
Mad, bad and dangerous to know:
The bhootni was lolling in her bed, sniffing Avdesh's stolen kurta, the one she took on the pretext of sewing it (😡), all the while madly babbling away at a photo of him - that he was hers, after all these years, she was not going to lose him to an 18 year old girl......
(can someone call for the men in white coats to come and get her?🤢🤢)
Preparation:
Avdesh walked outside and doused himself with water, perhaps to purify or to wash away his sins, then roared at the heavens in anguish or fury the name of the man who shattered his world years ago and did it again tonight......The fury, the anguish and the determination was just rolling of him in waves...he alone kept drawing my eyes.
The next morning he sat for the puja, waves after waves of impatience radiating outward and yet at the same time as calm and cool as ice. Only the fire in his eyes told of the burning inside him. Yet he disregarded all the worldly afflictions, his mind and body in tune for the coming war. For the vengeance that was his by right.
Farewell:
Avdesh, looking gorgeous, in a green kurta and very 'darkly' handsome took his leave of his mother. His mother tried to say something, to stop him from going to war but he was adamant. He wanted to end the nightmare, the years of guilt. His mother looked anguished - something tells me she knows more than the tripe Bhootni has been feeding him - and he stalked out. On his way he met the bhootni, all colourfully dressed!...what happened to the white?!😡...Avdesh complimented her, unaware that it has gone straight to her head and fueling more of her mad desire for him (🤢).....Bhootni pretended to be all wifey and yet like a bhabi (I think she is having an identity crisis!).....and once again Avdesh took his leave, touching her feet!😡🤢
His men started chanting and he started striding outside.
bye, bye baby:
As Avdesh neared his car, something compelled him to look sideways. There stood his wife of mere hours, all solemn and sad.....looking fragile with the wind in her hair, the red sindoor adorning her forehead standing out like a beacon. A magnetic force, stronger than his own will moved his feet in her direction........
..They continued to stare at each other, memories flashing...promise to take care of your daughter, his voice whispered and between them that promise laid broken - he was going out to war, who would look after her?....I will give her izzat, he stared at her sindoor....I will keep her happy...he looked at her sad and drawn face....all promises made in love, lay shattered like glasses between them......Avdesh could stand it no longer and moved....then he looked down and saw the burnt flesh of his palm and recalled his Oath.....that has to take precedence....He looks back at his wife, his face all tortured and sad.......
....between them a dark shadow slid in...it took shape. Bhootni, like that she was, stood like a malignant spot and cast her cold gaze upon them.
Precap: Gloves are off, Bhootni seems very sure as she tells Arpita that Avdesh has come to his senses now....the rest is a mystery to me.😊
My Thoughts:
During the puja, Avdesh was looking HOT in a white T!😳 and the look in his eyes, I had shivers going down my back😳😳....but I felt a constant sadness for him.....
When it looked like Avdesh was going without once looking for Arpi, my heart sank and I was in tears... it looked like Arpita did not even enter his mind, not even important enough for him to take his leave of her....did the Oath prevent him from even saying something to her?...did it prevent him from saying to her 'take care' 'or pray for my success'....I cannot hate him but I was so unhappy...😭
I think that was one mistake by the CVs....but I think I know why, especially in the light of the end 5 minutes. Avdesh's love for Arpita is very strong....without being aware, he was moving towards her....he cannot afford to even think about her, maybe, because he will break down and say 'to hell with that Oath'...but he has to see it through.....I would like to think that is why he decided to leave without seeing her....beside in that short time, what can they say??....but friends, that bit was so poignant especially as the FB of the promises were like them having a conversation, without one word leaving their mouth.......both remembering and knowing he only kept one....😭 and maybe other promises will never come true now.....that is the sadness within them both....
I think this day will be stretched to throughout the whole week.😔
Ok, I want to hear your thoughts on this please...did it affect you like it did me?..When I watch serials, I'm aware of the hooks, yet this episode grabbed me by the throat...because the poignancy and the what-could-have-been really touched me....
