Kesar lied in his bed restless and kept on contemplating..

"Kya mujhe sach main pyaar hai..kya isiliye mujhe Gulaal se duri bardasht nahi hoti..?Kya yehi wajah hai. Ki Dushyant se uski nazdeekiyan mujhe chubhti hai?

Kesar felt miserable and sighed…His trail of thoughts did not fade away and refrained him from falling asleep..

Suddenly he heard the sweet and endearing voice of Gulaal.

G:Kesar tu jag raha hai kya…?

Kesar was facing away from Gulaal but he could feel the breaths of Gulaal on his shoulders as she peeked to check if he was awake..

Kesar turned and saw Gulaal leaning as she said , "Kesar ek request karun tujhse kya?"

Kesar looked into her intoxicating eyes and thought , "Who could say no to those eyes"

Kesar replied , "Haan Bolo Gulaal "

G: "Wo mujhe neend nahi a rahi.ajeeb si bechaini ho rahi hai..Kya tu mujhe kahin bahar le jayega..I think I need some fresh air..main janti hun its late par kahin aas pas hi chal na.."

Kesar thought…, "Why is she restless..Does she also..?"He quickly replied

K: "Haan haan kyun nahi …"

Midnight dehradun rishikesh highway

"Kesar maine aas pas chalne k liye kaha tha…tu mujhe lagbhag 20 km dur le aya hai ..kitni sunsaan jagah hai….aur tu rukne ka naam nahi le rah..mujhe dar lag raha hai",Gulaal panicked as their Bike crossed the deserted highway with only a few passerby vehicles.Apart from that not a single soul was visible..The only Consistent company was the mountains of Narendra nagar of tehri garhwal and the tiny light bulbs of the sleepy hill station.

Kesar applied brakes to his bike and signaled Gulaal to get down…

Gulaal was nervous and said , "Ye tu itni raat ko airport kyun le aya mujhe…"Gulaal saw that they were standing near the grassland adjacent to the Teeny meeny JollyGrantAirport of dehradun approximately 20 kms from the city..

Well not an airport in the true sense of the word as it catered to only a limited number of flights..

Kesar saw Gulaal's anxiety and said… "Tum bhi na.. tum hi ne to kaha tha..fresh air chahiye…Isse behtar thandi hawa kahin nahi..chalo ab baitho…"

Gulaal was scared and said , "are Kesar ye jagah kitni sunsaan hai.."

Kesar was amused and said , "Oh miss Gulaal in wonderland..Tum bhul rahi ho k tum Allahabad main nahi Devbhoomi uttarakhand mein ho..yahan sab kuch safe hai..yahan k pahadi log dil k bahut ache hote hai…unalloyed by the vices of this world.Tumhe pata hai yahn ek decade pehle tak aur aaj bhi villages mein log gharon mein locks nahi lagate..Kyun ye dharti garhwal ki hai..samjhi ki nahi..aur waise bhi mere hote hue tumhe tension lene ki zarurat nahi hai..now sit."

Gulaal was relaxed on the assurance and they both sat down on the grassland…Gulaal could feel the wind..Kesar was right..it was calm and relaxing as the wind blew gently and filled her lungs..It was a beautiful view with the sleepy airport lights and runway lights flickering and the fresh aroma of the windy grassland filled her lungs.Gulaal felt relaxed ..

Kesar saw her smiling and was dazed …

Gulaal suddenly placed her hand on his shoulders and said in a low tone, "Kesar main janti hun tujhe kya baat pareshaan kar rahi hai?

Kesar was surprised and confused.

Gulaal continued, "Wo tujhe yahi lagta hoga na ki zabradasti tujhpe ye shaadi jaisa burden dal diya gaya na..tere dost bhi tera mazak banate honge na…shayad yahi wajah hai..k tu itna irritate ho jata hai ..hai na?"

Kesar was taken aback and thought, "If only you knew what was my real problem..?"

Kesar kept quiet ..Gulaal thought his silence to be his acceptance and continued…, "Main janti hunki tujhe kitna bura lagata hoga..Kuch aisa hi mere saath bhi hua…Tu to janta hi na..ki mere jivan mein Vasant ki kya ehmiyat thi..Us rishtey ko main pyaar kahun ya kya..main nahi janti par ..haan jab se maine shaadi jaise atoot bandhan ko jana..tab se yahi mana ki Vasant hi mera jivansaathi hai…phir sabch badal gaya Kesar..sab kuch.. …Main janti hun ki maine is bare mein tujhse kabhi baat nahi ki par aaj karna chahati hun..aaj main sab kuch share karna chahti hun ..pata nahi kyun ..bas aaj main sab kuch keh dungi…warna is rishtey ki ghutan humein jine nahi degi.."

Kesar thought, "Ghutan..",He was a bit hurt but continued.. "Iski koi zarurat nahi Gulaal.If you are not comfortable to iski koi zarurat nahi hai.."

G: "nahi Kesar tune mujhe apna dost kaha hai na..isliye ek dost k nate main tujhse aaj sab kuch share karna chahti hun…"

Kesar patiently listened to her as she poured out the agony of her heart..

G: "Kesar sab kuch galat ho gaya..humare jivan mein…Samaj humein pati patni manta hai..par tu to janta hai na..ki sach kya hai…aur rahi is shadi k liye haan karne ki baat..tu bhi yahi sochta hoga na..ki akhir maine haan kyun ki…maine haan isliye ki kyunki papa ki beizzati main nahi she sakti thi..dono parivaron ki kitni badnaami hoti..isliye maine ye sab kiya..par Kesar tere saath to bahut jyada galat kiya sabne..matlab tujhe abhi apne career pe dhyaan dena chahiye tha..aur phir zabardasti is unchahe rishtey ka bojh.."

Kesar interrupted, "nahi aisi koi baat nahi hai…main thik hun.."

G: "Tu bahut acha hai Kesar ..agar tu nahi hota to main…kabka jina chhod chuki hoti…tu sahi mayne mein ek sacha dost hai…Maine jinke liye ye sab kiya..mere Papa..dekh na..shaadi k baad se unhone mujhe phone tak nahi kiya..harbaar koi bahana ban k avoid kar dete hain..Main..main..kya karun Kesar"Gulaal burst into tears .Floods of memories crept in Gulaal's mind and they brought sudden tears in her eyes.She was in despair .She wanted to cry –cry her heart out to shed all her despair .

Kesar was hurt and felt Gulaal's pain.Tears started rolling down his cheeks unconsciously.He put hisarms around her and comforted her.. , "pls stop crying..main hun na.Sab thik ho jayega."Gulaal embrace him and wept inconsolably.Kesar felt choked as he could feel her pain and still could not do anything to ease her discomfort.Kesar held her in his arms as she wept..They did not realize how much time has passed as they both still held each other ..trying to find solace.Gulaal had stopped crying by now and her heart was filled with the solace of Kesar's support.The pain and anguish had slowly vanished and the proximity made their hearts brim with joy.Kesar embraced her tightly .He could now hear her deep gasps of breath on his shoulders andher silky hair was touching his palms.She had surrendered herself in his arms.Kesar closed his eyes as he still held her.Suddenly Gulaal opened her eyes and felt awkward.She quickly withdrew herself and looked away from him..Both felt shy..

Gulaal tried to change the topic to ease the awkwardness that had suddenly creeped between them….

G: "Kesar tere paas earphones hai kya..mera music sunne ka man kar raha tha.Kesar snapped back still trying to control his racing heartbeat."

Kesar took out his earphones from his pocket and connected to his mobile phone and said, "par kya main bore hounga..jab tak tum gane sunogi",he asked innocently

Gulaal smiled and said..are buddhu..ek kaan mein tu ek speaker laga lena…

They both came closer sharing the pair of earphones.Gulaal's cheeks were very close to him.

Gulaal smiled and said naughtily, "Dekhte hain tujhe kaun se gane pasand hain.."

.He was lost in her smile and hit the play button without even seeing the song..

Suddenly a blaring voice gave them a shock..as the song started playing.. " Mujh par ek ehsaan karna k mujh par koi ehsaan mat karna...Body guard …aao ji aaoji Dil se dil dil milao ji..aa gaya hai dekho bodyguard."

Gulaal was shocked and she looked at Kesar ..She burst laughing…Laughter painted her face and the silence that had engulfed them since last few minutes vanished in a flash..Gulaal laughed very hard..as the song continued.. "Feel the heat,feel the punch,feel the power"..and the rocking music thumped .."

Gulaal tried hard to control her laugh and said.. "Kesar ye kya hai..tujhe ye gana pasand hai…

Kesar wanted to Kill himself..He was embarrassed.He wanted to find a gun and Murder Kunal..who had uploaded these latest songs on his mobile phone and the song continued, "Tha bas tumhara intezaar..aya re dekho bodyguard.."

Gulaal laughed and laughed and she finally lied down on the ground Laughing.Trying hard to catch her breath.This Gesture pulled Kesar too who was sharing her earphones and he placed his hand on the ground to avoid falling over Gulaal .He leaned on her as she still laughed .Kesar was amused ,But her laugh made his heart brim with joy and sheer ecstacy…He thought.. , "kisi bahne se hi sahi Gulaal ke chehre pe hansi to ayi…"

Gulaallooked at Kesar still laughing and said.. "maan gaye ..Excellent choice .."she pushed him and slowly got up and kept on laughing..Kesar quickly changed the song..and a soft music started playing..Not sure ..Kesar said, "pata nahi ab ye kaun sa song hai" and He was about to change it when Gulaal held his hand theryby stopping him..Kesar looked at gulaal.. Gulaal smiled and said, "I love you Kesar"..

Kesar was shocked .taken aback His heart missed a beat as he looked dazed into her eyes..Gulaal continued and twitched her eyebrow.. , "Haan kesar ..I love you wala song hai ye..pls ise change mat karna ..mujhe ye pasand hai.."

Kesar was horrified.He pinched himself hard to check whatever happened was real…The pain reminded him of the stupid thought that ran across his mind while Gulaal was only reffering to the song…

And the song played on..

I read the title of your chapter, and remembered I'd downloaded the 'new songs' which i hadn't quite heard out entirely, so I dug out the Bodyguard track and played it in the BG, and then started reading the chapter - and then when I was somewhere in the middle I was thinking in my head that I'd quote lines from the song for my comment - but by the time I got done with the chapter, I was sitting there at the caf with my late lunch, laughing out loud at the coincidence!🤣
