Thanks for the links, Jzee...but no, I wasn't talking about this tune...I was talking about Kesar's tune...they 'hey hey hey' waali...the one that played in the very first GK scene post leap when he turns and sees her, remember? That's my fav. tune.
Oooh that one - that's classic Kesuda the lover boy on a high đ I actually really like most BG tunes this show, they're so well matched to the character nuances and moments, but the one I linked continues to be my long time favorite... there's so much dilemma in its undertones, and so much angst to that! And the way they coupled this tone with his tujhe mujhpar bharosa haina Gulaal in this scene was awesome - except it was so short lived and cut through by Talli's completely redundant - baat bharose ki nahin hai! Dude!!! Gulaal ka jawaab to sunne deti bichaare ko!!!
I love the ending of this GK scene too...is there any chance we might get GK talking about the letters once again too? *sigh* I can only hope
I've really always hoped we will! Unlike many, I don't think the letters were unfairly underplayed in the part of the plot where they were - because at that point Gulaal being overcome by his letters or moved to anything other than the reaction she gave him - it's obsession not love - would have been unreal. But that said, the letters played such a critical role in their initial phase... they sort of deserve coming back to consequence! Them, like Gulaal's diary... the documenting of both these characters is a strong common point, which goes on to say so much about how they tend to attach themselves to matters so entirely! Besides, now that Gulaal knows that Kesar's love is not in fact an obsession, her viewing of his letters would be in such a different light! Exactly the way, after Kesar learns the truth on Monday, if he then chances upon her diary - it will be far the more impact! it's like they each open up this secret side to themselves to each other - and then each finding this documentation of testimony, not to stand proof, but in a way to further the impact many times over. Not to mention Gulaal's diary would help so much to knock sense into the haveli walas! (not walis, they're seriously beyond sense!)

I just love the way the entire bit plays out...Kesar making all attempts to brush aside the letter and change the topic but Gulaal hanging on...the bit when she chides him for not posting the letter and keeping it for so long and his utter SHOCK...fear that she just might know the whole truth of the letters...but she tells him she recognized his handwriting from his childhood...and then him making the excuses later on that there is nothing much in the letter other than b'day greetings...but Gulaal can see through him obviously and just asks him gently if he was so mad at her? And the way he turns to look at her and tell her that she kept him away for 10 years...what superb transitions in this scene...
One of my personal favorite scenes too - this one, and even the preceding bit where he's thinking of her and then she walks in and he tells her to fix his room... oh his innocent ways to get her focus on himself! You said it Nur - he's been starved of it so long, and really, he's been the longest deserving candidate of her exclusive affections! The heart warming part is how easily and simply he's satisfied... takes some very subtle and little gestures... lets not forget she only had to make his favorite food and he was all mellow even in his hurt stiff routine! đ He's the ultimate softie there is when it comes to Gulaal!
