I think if Gul and Kes had not met they would have gone through this restlessness. Sometimes, you know that there is someone out there for you...looking at the same moon, breathing the same air...and you feel this restlessness because you know that he/she is out there and its just a waiting game, a matter of time...(sorry if that sounds cheesy...)

The unusual relationship between the two always made me wonder what Gulaal actually expected from Kesar on his return. She obviously craved his attention but there is no way they could be just as close and be just friends.

You know Reemz...I always felt that IF Kesu would have married Talli...it would not have been easy for Gulaal. She has been the center of his universe and he has been the center of hers...so it might be all easy peasy to make promises to Talli and Gulaal being Gulaal was all set to get them married as well BUT I'm quite sure Gulaal would have felt just a teeny weeny bit jealous! Do you remember her expression when Talli stated that the next year only one person will be keeping the Vat savitri vrat for Kesu...and she did not look all that pleased when Talli showed up in her room shamelessly wearing that chunnar!
