Kesar is sitting in his basics waiting to get yellow flour (haldi) applied. All the women are happy. Gulaal comes there worried and flashbacks to Kesar's plan to torture Talli. Kesar calls her and happily asks her where she was, he wants that she should start the process of applying haldi on him. (Lol, Kesar looks sooo mischievous here, I love it. He does know Gulaal very well, since he has found the perfect way to set her right. It was very telling when he asked Talli whether she saw dreams that Gulaal wove for her, because he realized then that the only way to get out of this marriage is Gulaal). Kesar tells Jamna that despite her being there his ceremony is bland, he tells her that she sings so well so she should sing. Obviously Jamna is flattered, since nobody ever says a good word about her. Jamna and all the women start singing.
Gulaal stands in a corner awkwardly wondering what to do. Gulaal then sits next to Paan Baa, Kesar's eyes are only for her and her alone, every single thing he is saying and doing is for Gulaal alone. He turns and glares at her with a slight smile, Gulaal cannot meet his eyes. Kesar then asks her to start applying haldi on him since after that his wife-to-become also has to go through this ceremony with the same haldi. Gulaal is not able to forget Kesar's bitter words, Paan Baa asks her to go start Kesar's haldi applying ceremony. Gulaal sits in front of him, applies some on his feet, then his neck and face. He sits confidently glaring at her the entire time, while she cannot even meet his eyes and keeps thinking about his words. He then grabs her hand and asks why she is being such a miser, she should apply generously, and saying so rubs her hand on his face spreading the haldi. She fake smiles and returns to her place. Paan Baa then applies haldi happily, then Jamna and finally Sudha. He cannot stop stealing glances at Gulaal to see her expressions and reaction to everything he is saying and doing. He asks Sudha what he should call her, bhabhi (brother's wife) or mother-in-law. Sudha tells him that he can say anything, she will still pull his ears. (Kesar is in full-form - mischievous, confident, pampered, center of attention).
Talli comes downstairs with her friends, Gulaal gets even more worried looking at her, and Kesar steals glances to see her reaction. Everyone sends Kesar to shower, and Gulaal takes the bowl of haldi to apply on Talli. Kesar comes behind Gulaal suddenly saying very close to her ear that he has come back to say one thing, that the women should apply haldi very well on his to-be wife, she should look very beautiful, the most beautiful of anyone. He then turns his lips towards Gulaal's ear and asks if she understands clearly. Gulaal tries to turn around and the bowl drops from her hands, spreading haldi on the carpet. Everyone looks startled, Talli glares briefly at Gulaal before looking down annoyed, Sudha asks Gulaal what has she done, Kesar says never mind, it happens. Jamna says that Talli's haldi ceremony can only start with using Kesar's haldi, Kesar interrupts saying that because only if they use the same haldi that was applied on Kesar will love between husband and wife increase. (Not once does he say Talli - he just says to-be wife). Talli blushes hearing this. Kesar looks wickedly at Gulaal, then removes some haldi from his face and applies it on Talli's face. Talli feels happy, Gulaal doesn't like it but fake smiles. Kesar asks Jamna if she is satisfied, Talli's first haldi is from Kesar's haldi and that also with his own hands. He then says that future holds love and only love, and looks at Gulaal while saying this. Gulaal is worried. Paan Baa pushes him and asks him to go shower.
Gulaal goes in front of the Goddess' statue and crying asks the Goddess whether she made a mistake unknowingly, she doesn't know what to do, she asks the Goddess for help.
Gulaal brings Talli downstairs, ready to apply henna. Sudha applies it for Talli first. Paan Baa asks Gulaal to get it applied as well, Gulaal says that she has a lot of work and will get it applied after everyone else. The women hear the sound of drums and go outside to see Kesar beating the drum in full form and women dancing. Kesar glares at Gulaal the entire time. He stops and tells everyone that they should all come to dance (garba). He looks at Gulaal briefly and asks Talli to dance with him. She says that she applied henna in one hand, he says so what, she has to hold his hand the entire life, why not hold his hand and dance with him today. He then looks at Gulaal and asks, right Gulaal. He then takes Talli by her hand all the while giving Gulaal looks. Kesar keeps glaring at her while dancing happily, Gulaal flashbacks to his words and feels frustrated. She goes to Paan Baa when Kesar comes and hugs Paan Baa lovingly from behind, glares at Gulaal and says that he is very happy today, he is grateful for everything that they have done for him. While saying this last part his expression turns from smiling to angry. Gulaal looks away, Paan Baa laughs and asks him to go away.
Paan Baa tells Gulaal that she did a very good thing by making Paan Baa agree to Talli and Kesar's marriage. She has tears in her eyes and tells Gulaal that since Kesar has returned from the city, for the first time she has seen him so happy, looking at him it seems like Talli is his happiness. Kesar dances so funnily and with so much energy to show how happy he is and all the while the guy looks at Gulaal. (I love how daring he is, how spoiled he is, since he keeps looking at Gulaal the entire time, not caring one bit about the rest of the world. I adore him, and its so good to see this other side that is not his usual angry self). Gulaal feels very guilty hearing Paan Baa's words and has tears in her eyes. (One thing that irks me a lot is that all she can think of is how he will torture Talli, not that he is unhappy and does not desire this marriage). Gulaal turns to leave when Kesar blocks her way and asks where she is going, she won't dance even once in his wedding, Gulaal says coldly she has a lot of work, Jamna asks Gulaal to go with him, anyway after marriage he has to make his wife, meaning Talli, dance. (Its funny how Jamna says it - she says it exactly like I wrote it. The word dance is used as a pun). Kesar grabs Gulaal's hand and takes her with him.
Gulaal dances with zero energy and sees Talli dancing happily. She tells Kesar that he should not give Talli any unhappiness, he tells her that she is fulfilling the promise she made to Talli since her childhood, he will also do exactly what he told Gulaal this morning, nothing more. She threatens to tell everyone everything, he tells her to go ahead, nobody is stopping her. Gulaal looks at him exasperated. He tells her that it is impossible for her to tell everyone because she herself made everyone agree to this wedding, now she will see Talli's colorful torture. He continues to dance while saying this, it was very funny. Then he angrily yells "dance" (nacho) and dances with more energy. (This was just hilarious!). Gulaal is horrified and scared of what he will do to Talli.
Gulaal goes to Mota Bha's room but he is sleeping. Sudha is praying in front of the Goddess thanking her for Talli's wedding and asking her to let Talli's marriage go without incident, she will light 101 oil lamps in the temple. Paan Baa overhears and says that not 101 but 501, and they will take Kesar and Talli as well. Sudha tells her that they should take Gulaal too since Gulaal has fulfilled her promise to make Talli and Kesar one. Paan Baa is surprised and asks what promise, Sudha tells her about Gulaal's promise to Talli since childhood. Paan Baa is shocked and says that Gulaal told her Kesar told Mota Bha himself that he wants to marry Talli. Sudha says yes Kesar said it but Gulaal convinced him. (Does this woman not see that Gulaal had to convince Kesar, which is not a good sign). Paan Baa doesn't like this.
Talli calls Gulaal and shows her the wedding dress. Talli has tears in her eyes, Gulaal asks why she is looking at her like this. Talli tells her that she was living just like that after her parent's death, but Gulaal gave her life. Gulaal feels overcome with emotion and hugs Talli, and flashbacks to Kesar's words. Gulaal feels full of guilt, and tells Talli that she will be right back.
Gulaal sees Paan Baa and tells her that she has something important to say, Paan Baa says that she also has something important to discuss. Paan Baa asks if she decided this marriage union, she decided to marry Kesar and Talli since childhood and promised as well, but did not think it necessary to tell Paan Baa even once. Gulaal says that she was waiting for the right moment, Paan Baa says what moment, after the marriage happened, she is Kesar's mother and has at least that much right to decide who Kesar should marry, Gulaal snatched even that right from her. Gulaal weeps and tells her that she made a mistake, but this marriage cannot happen. Paan Baa tells her to stop, first she decided such a big thing about Kesar's marriage on her own, now that it will happen soon she is saying that it should not happen. Gulaal tries to explain but Paan Baa cuts her short and says that she doesn't want to hear anything more, no matter what the reason behind Kesar's decision, nothing is bigger than her son's happiness, and he is happy with Talli, and now whatever Kesar wants will happen, Gulaal should stop worrying about him. Gulaal feels very upset and cries.
Kesar comes there and tells her good she tried this route as well, at least she realizes now that every time what Gulaal wants will not happen. Kesar looks at her triumphantly and asks what she will do now. Gulaal cries and tells him that she will not do anything, she has lost, lost in every single decision that she made for others. Kesar's melts completely on Gulaal's words and loses all his anger seeing her pain, he cannot see her in pain at all. Gulaal tells him that he is right, she was wrong to take such a decision about Kesar's life, she was wrong to have shown Talli all these dreams without asking Kesar first. Kesar feels bad seeing Gulaal like this. Gulaal joins her hands and pleads with Kesar not to take out his anger for Gulaal on Talli, Talli has done no wrong at all, he should punish Gulaal instead in any way he wants, she will not complain or question or interfere. If he wants she will separate herself from his life forever, but he should not do anything to Talli. She swears on Vasant that if he wants she will not show her face to him ever, and leaves.
Precap: Gulaal looks down. Kesar and Talli put a garland of flowers on each other's neck. When Kesar puts it around Talli's neck, he looks on as if in a trance. When they start to circle around the fire, Kesar stops, the priest says that he cannot stop in the middle. Kesar says that he cannot go ahead with the circles, Mota Bha sternly asks him whether he knows what he is doing. Kesar responds how can he make such a promise, that he will remain faithful to Talli forever, he will have to remain faithful to his first wife then, and everyone knows that his first wife is Gulaal. While saying this Kesar is standing between Gulaal and Talli. Mota Bha is shocked, Jamna is happy, Talli is furious, Gulaal is shocked. (YAY... the marriage with Talli will not happen, YAY).
