KESAR FOR PEACE
Kesar walks in with flowers and when confronted he shares it with all. I liked what he said that all colors are hidden in the shade of white. Was that for Gulaal that there are hidden shades of vibrancy underneath her pale exterior, paleness in terms of denying happiness and pleasures of life to oneself?
Probably Kesar genuinely brought the white flowers to cheer Gulaal but her hesitation to take it as if he has just given her a bunch of red roses saying "Be my valentine" is amusing. So what is wrong in picking some flowers from him, he has also distributed it to others. Poor guy has decided to give a share to Talli also now that he has given to JK and his Sudha Babhi too.
KESAR AND TALLI
The scene with Talli was surely exaggerated. It could have been done in a simple way too. Kesar is surprised at the happiness she is portraying.
Kesar : Yeh tu ne kya kiya?
Talli: Maine kya kiya? Maine to sirf Kunal se shaadi karne ke liye haan ki hai.
Now I would read her reply as " You said NO to our marriage and broke it too. I have only said Yes to this alliance. How grave is it than what you did?
Kesar is seriously worried about the family and Talli cuts it short saying 'Maine Sudha Ma se bhi bata diya ki saari zindagi mujhe Kunal ke saath hi bitani hai.
Now I was reminded of the scene where Kesar agrees to the marriage with Talli and when she asks he says "I don't live other's dreams, I have decided ki mujhe tujhse hi shaadi karni hai"
Kesar raises his concern over the family and that she won't be happy in that house but she shuts him up saying how can he be sure that happiness would come by only if the family is good. When she says that situations exist when family is good but the source of our happiness (the husband) does not love the person back (his wife). Kesar is totally at a loss of words at her wisdom and also the authenticity of that overwhelming truth.
Talli: Shayad you are reminded what I told you about getting a better guy than you for a husband? Are you jealous?
Kesar's reaction to this was that of wonder whether Talli seriously meant it and found Kunal good enough or whether she genuinely expected him to feel jealous in this situation, whether she was trying to make him feel so. He was confused what was running on her mind. His ability to think through is clouded by the guilt he harbors for having wronged her that she is taking this decision to grab the first guy that comes her way so that she could move out of his and Gulaal's wife because Kesar knows that Talli feels Gulaal would love him back within the three months given. It is seen in the way he tries to smile back when she says she would be happy with Kunal and also adds that her happiness is seen on her face. At this point I think Kesar knows why Talli is doing this so early before giving herself some more time and that is why he feels all the more burdened when she says she will surely be happy and hence finally gives his genuine feedback on Kunal as a person.
I appreciate that Talli asked if the flowers were for her rather than grabbing it. She has learnt the lesson in the hard way.
Kesar is puzzled when she stops and also when she stretches out her closed hands. He opens it to find the engagement ring. He is surprised that she can return it with a smile. He is again on a guilt trip when he is reminded of the engagement ceremony. Seeing him hurt, talli tries to tell him she has returned not for him to get so sad istead she does not want to get blamed later for running away with his gift. That relaxes him, he smiles and his tension is gone when he manages to say "Accha'.Toh yeh mahan iraada tha iske peeche" because he was genuinely worried.
When she brings back the issue asking him to return her ring, he is again confused as to why she is laying so much emphasis to this return ceremony. He was again reminded, he felt guilty all over again, when he was told the reason for the engagement ring on the ring finger, and he removes it contemplating on the "love factor" being associated with this. Sensing his unease, Talli points out that he gets disturbed over trivial matters. Here they make him feel guilty enormously and talli had given him a lecture a while ago saying she would never be able to forgive him for playing with her emotions and then she makes it a point to remind him at every given chance by behaving she is the sacrificial lamb and still trying to be a saint by sacrificing her love for his happiness and on the other hand the woman he loves cares less about his feelings and then Talli says he gets disturbed over small issues. After all he is human.
Kesar is seriously hurt when Talli says it was good that he removed the ring if not he would have fallen in love with her had he worn it a little longer. He is again confused at what she wants to convey because again he is wondering whether she still nurtures some hope over the possibility. I feel he was really not able to read her mind, more so with those heart-piercing split meaning dialogues coming from a smiling Talli about LOVE. Kesar is too nave for that.
When she calls him Dabloo, he stammers over the Kya,Kya kaha tu ne mujhe, out of that shock that the situation between them has reached such a level where she calls him Dabloo. It brings back that smile, he runs after her all the way until the kitchen (I strictly disapprove of this scene. This running around business had created enough havoc during KB days. I had unnecessarily convinced myself those days that such playfulness was not harmful).
KESAR AND GULAAL
Gulaal was startled out of her reverie when she heard Kesar and Talli but it never seemed to affect her at all. I am not expecting Gulaal's possessiveness here. Last time Kesar chased Talli on the terrace, he unknowingly went and hugged Gulaal. He is at ease when it comes to touch with regards to talli but Talli's feelings towards him are not platonic. I am wondering why she is not worried that Talli is still chasing Kesar, the guy with whom her wedding was called off and she is also a soon-to-be bride.
And Kesar just lets go everything else the minute he sees Gulaal overworking herself. He offers to help, obviously Gulaal denies and refuses to take his help. He squeezed the hand towels out of her hand forcibly and at one point she got too conscious of his hold that she let go off his hand. Loved how Kesar dismissed her refusal of his offer for help as "Har baat pe zidd". She taunts him saying she is used to doing things herself without support but he insists "Karti aayi hogi, but henceforth call me to help you with such tedious work(meaning which needs help and support). In every word and action, he is willing to be her support.
Kesar complains that Talli has become really naughty, did I see Gulaal's concealed smile over his comment. Cutely he tells Talli "Chhal jhooti". Again they brought in Talli's true love that she culd never swear on his Kesar's name for joke and it would be the truth if she did so. He senses that Gulaal is unusually quiet today when he says "Kyun Gulaal?" She brushes it aside and asks him to meet Motaba.
Precap
Waiting for the spectacular showdown.
