@peacefulblossoms: Yes there are all sorts of gross things happening in the real world that it's best to not get into......In TV it seems, ppl have a morbid fascination for watching creepy/icky stuff....since it's fiction I guess.....the logic of something being so weird that you can't help yourself from thinking about it and wondering what will happen next? And I guess it definitely helps if you have the added incentive of watching two good looking ppl ultimately romancing each other and becoming a couple......

I honestly don't really care whether their marriage breaks up or whatever.....it's obvious they will be a romantic couple soon enough.....the rest of it is toh just added masala drama as there is in every soap.....To me, this soap crossed a line in the name of "shock value" to garner viewers.

*Edit:
This is the entertainment world...I guess anything is ok as long as it entertains.
No, I honestly don't subscribe to this "sab chalta hai" in the name of entertainment viewpoint....just my personal opinion.....then why stop anywhere?? Ppl should be broadcasting po*n on TV 24/7.....it's "entertainment", correct? Why morally judge that either then?

That he resents her for in a sense making him so confused and messed up in the head over this marriage happening to him as a kid but he is at the same time fascinated by her and has romantic feelings for her too.....angst......that is enough to pull in the audience I guess.

I guess I'm too hung up on the grown woman marrying a 10 year old kid.....find it tough to look beyond that even if they are now both adults and free to do whatever they want with their relationship.

Gulaal marrying her 10 year old devar is the central plot of the story. Even before the show was launched this is what was mentioned in all the articles. I was so shocked when the articles first came out that how will Indian audience accept this concept. Now there is another show on Colors with a similar concept.

I think Kesar resents her cos she has forgiven the guy who killed her husband. Kesar probably thinks that there is something going on between them. I am not really sure about this as I haven't watched the show.

@nureat01

Everyone have a limit to what they will watch. I've watched things that totally grossed me out in several levels and would never watch that again. Everyone can choose what they like and not like.

I guess if this show grosses you out then there is nothing anyone will say or do that will change your mind. The concept shown in the show isn't exactly new.

Keep watching if you want to see how the story progress or drop it 😊

No, I don't think any initial articles at the launch of this show mentioned that she would marry her 10 year old devar.....if I recall correctly, initially only her water finding abilities and her romance with Vasant were advertised....I watched the show for those few beginning epis too.....it was later a few months afterwards that the article about her marrying her kid devar came out and I was shocked to say the least too.

I haven't watched any recent epis so I can't say for sure what's going on b/w them either......I was stating my views based on the articles and basic concepts.

Yes I think the show Phulwa on Colors is showing a similar thing since that was a real life incident in Phoolan Devi's life on which the show is based.

But where do ppl draw the line really is what I wonder about....there are allllllllllll sorts of sick things happening in the world.....stories about a man kidnapping an 8 year old girl and keeping her in his house for 15 years, constantly molesting her and raping her and in the process her even giving birth to some children born of the rapes.....tomorrow we will see shows being made on this kind of stuff possibly romanticizing this relationship into a ROMANTIC one and ppl will happily watch that too in the name of entertainment?

Once again, I never asked for someone to change my mind😊....I just expressed my thoughts and views on this issue and to a point I thought we had an interesting debate going here given the controversial nature of this storyline.

I am not watching, nor do I think I will want to watch this.....I was debating the concept, that's all.

I was talking about this article, it was posted in Bidaai forum as this show was going to replace Bidaai. I was actually surprised when this fact wasn't mentioned in any TB article when the show started.

'Gulaal' to replace 'Bidaai' -last episode 28 Nov?

I agree with you on most points you have made in this topic.

Fair enough 😊 Enjoy your discussion. Sorry didn't read all your post so didn't know exactly what was happening.

Edit: About the entertainment comment it was a general comment. About po*n etc...that is another level on itself. But po'n etc is this there for entertainment no? The only difference is that age limit. There are movies about more icky relationships then this and that is for entertainment too. Age limit is there for child protection....you really don;t want to show these stuff to children. There was no sexual etc relationship between Gulaal/Kesar when he was young. But I would say Gulaal is boarding very closely to adult (not extreme adult) entertainment.

Ohh interesting....they never mentioned it in the TB article which is where I was getting my info from I guess.....I wonder why.....if this is the central storyline of the show, why advertise Vasant in all the initial promos?? No hype was given to Kesar until later, no? I toh had no clue that the show would take THIS turn.....and this "Deeyarvatu"....is it a very common practice from rural India? And do the widows ALWAYS end up marring their KID devars only??

I know its very intriguing that this article was published for UK audience and no mention in TB articles or any promos until this was actually shown in the show. May be they didn't want to scare Bharat ki Janta away. lol

I don't know about this custom "Deeyarvatu", not sure if its allowed to marry KID devars. Its quite similar in concept to the movie "Ek Chadar Maili Si". Actually when I was a kid, in our neighborhood there was a family where the guy was married to his widowed bhabhi and was raising her kids as their own. Not sure how many but some of them were his too. lol

I cant believe this topic is still going on lol
Anyways if you like the show just enjoy the show if you want or not
From what i can see Vasant dying and deeyavatu was set for the major plot in the show, and it doesnt need to be promoted when this show started
