Yes, marriage is about emotions but it is also about responsibilities and respect. By depriving Guddan of her "wifely rights" in public he also stripped her of the dignity of being his wife. That is taken by some other nasty people as a sign that she is "available"- for men as a target to prey on and for women like Durga as a target to insult and ridicule. AJ unknowingly exposed her to this danger and abuse. After what Rocky does, he realizes his mistake, but only part of it.

Putting the MS back on just to protect her from evil people is not enough. It needs to be accompanied by the dignity and respect she deserves as a wife and a sense of his responsibility towards her as a husband in the true sense. Until Guddan is sure all of these are willingly and deliberately offered by AJ, she won't accept half measures. I think she is really really angry with him this time. Usually she's quick to forgive but I hope she doesn't let him get off so easily this time.

Can we just acknowledge the strength Guddan has mustered up within herself. I remember last month there was a thread where we discussed about how Guddan needs to be independent and not ask AJ to help her out over and over again.

This past month has exactly shown that. She was STRONG. And FIERCE. And she STOOD HER GROUND. I'm proud of how Guddan has stopped running to AJ for guidance/help. True she is not perfect. But she is ready to face the challenges that life has in store for her.

She faced the goons to save AJ. She stood upto Chudail and Chorni repeatatively. She was straight forward while dealing with AJ's "supposed" mistress. She stood up for her devar. She is gonna take another stand for herself tomorrow when she will refuse to wear the MS.

I agree with you, though I think more than anyone else, AJ needs to say it to himself loud and clear. He can't be in two minds and give people mixed signals. Even if he wants to go with the whole "maana ke pyaar nahin hai par pyaari lagti ho" angle, he needs to be consistent. Yes, he cares a LOT about her, but he needs to start respecting her as an equal. Until that happens, this relationship will be stuck in this place.

Guddan understands the significance of the MS, but it's high time AJ does too. It's not a joke and he can't just take it off and put it on whenever he feels like. It's all or nothing, no half-half.
