Part 4

"Mr Jindal, I won't want to offend you but as a doctor it's my duty to be honest. It's hardly been two days since you were discharged and your stitches have already come undone!? Doctor remarked while doing the stitches on AJ's abdomen, which had come undone.

AJ gulped hard and clenched his eyes shut. This was certainly quite painful.

Once the doctor left, the poor nurse who was kept to look after AJ, was grilled real hard by Kishore and Durga for being careless in her duties.

"What's the use of hiring a nurse when you can't look after papa?! Kishore asked the nurse.

"Sir wo... Nurse tried to defend herself but Durga cut her off, "You are fired! Hum kisi aur ko dhundh lenge AJ ke liye!

"No mam, please don't do this! I have joined recently, and...it's not that I was careless, Mr Jindal refused my help every time, whether it was bathing or getting dressed, I swear...

"Ek toh kaam chori upar se seena zori! Durga shouted, enraged at her excuses.

"Jhooth nhi keh rahi hai aapki nurse, Durga bahu! AJ finally spoke, unable to read his book in the chaos. He looked up at Durga with a cool look in his eyes.

"Par papa nurse toh aapka khayaal rakhne ke liye hi hire ki thi na? Toh aap kyu unki services decline kar rahe hain? Kishore enquired worried.

Slapping his book shut, AJ gave a look in Durga's direction and then looked at his son. "I am a grown up man, Kishore and I don't like breaching of my personal space by strangers! How can you expect me to be ok with a stranger woman giving me baths and helping me with daily activities!? AJ quipped back and continued, "Aur vese bhi AJ itna bebas bhi nhi hai ki apna khayal na rakh sake!

"Par lalla, teri issi zidd ke kaaran, tere stitches bhi khul gaye.. Dadi spoke entering the room.

"Maa, iska matlab ye toh nhi hai na ki main apne usoolon se samjhota kar loon, He replied spot on. Durga couldn't control her tongue any longer and entered the conversation.

"Par AJ, aap jab hospital mein thhe, tab nurse hi aapke kapd...

But before durga could complete her sentence, AJ cut her short. "Durga bahu! Kya ab mujhe aapko safai deni padegi apne decisions ke regarding?! AJ looked at her with an authoritative look, effectively silencing her.

"It's settled then. Your services are not needed anymore and aap chinta mat kijiye, aapki job ko jeopardize nhi karenge hum, ye AJ ka wada hai.. AJ spoke to the nurse, to which she nodded thankfully and left.

Kishore looked at his father and then, at his wife. He understood what his father's actions were hinting at. "Durga, Main chahta hoon ki tum Khud Guddan maa ko wapas bulao. Ab vahi papa ka khayaal rakhengi! Kishore told Durga in a serious voice and left from there leaving no room for further discussion,

Durga fisted her fingers and looked at AJ. He was looking back and that too with a smug look on his mug. Swallowing the bitter pill of defeat Durga turned to leave when AJ' s words stopped her. "Aasha karta hu Durga bahu ki agli baar se mujhe choices aur options dene se pehle, aap yaad rakhengi ki MAIN aapka sasur hoon! Aur haan, apni saas ko poori izzat aur tameez ke saath laiyega!

Durga could only nod her head begrudgingly in response as AJ got back to his book.

As AJ stepped out of washroom, his vision suddenly felt blurry and he shook his head to ward the spell of dizziness off but to no avail. His ears started ringing and a stinging pain shot through his spine into his head causing him to lose his balance. He leaned against the wall to support himself and then aiming for the bed, took a step forward but suddenly everything started spinning and he almost fell when someone supported him. As the headache declined in intensity, his vision became a bit clear and he turned his head towards his left, to see Guddan looking back at him. As she helped him to sit on the bed, AJ continued looking at her.

AJ complied as Guddan adjusted a pillow behind his back and made him sit comfortably and as she turned to go, AJ caught her wrist and stopped her."Kahan thi tum?! He asked.

Guddan bit back a sob that was threatening to erupt out. She had missed him so much. She had seen him after god knows how many days!

"Jawab do Guddan! Kahan thi tum? He asked yet again, his tone getting edgier due to impatience.

Guddan wiped her eyes and wearing a smile on her face, turned around. "Kitne sawaal karte ho uncle!! Aa gayi naa main ab!?

But AJ didn't budge as his disbelieving eyes raked over her profile. He looked at her face and noticed how ashen it was. Her cheeks seemed to have sunk. Big dark bags encircled her dull, sleep deprived eyes and she looked skinnier. Guddan turned her face away reading the questions in his eyes. She didn't want to worry him.

"Hum...paani laate hain, aapke liye, She spoke and tried to leave but AJ had his hands fixed around her wrist.

AJ stood up, behind her as Guddan breathed in, heavily. She could sense him behind her.

"Maine poocha, KAHAN THI TUM?! AJ hissed dangerously in her ears as a shiver ran through Guddan's spine.

He turned her around on getting no response and as they stood face to face, Guddan looked anywhere but at him. She clenched her eyes shut as his forefinger found her chin and forced her to look into his eyes. As Guddan finally opened her eyes and met his dark pools, her heart started racing in her rib cage. She had missed these eyes so much. A tear escaped her eyes and traced her cheek bone as a soft look dawned in Akshat's eyes and he wiped the tear off softly. "Main theek hoon!

As soon as AJ spoke these words, Guddan could control it no more and her dam broke. She moved closer and her arms went over his shoulder and around his neck, hugging him. She started crying as a continuous stream of tears that had been held off for too long, burst out. AJ enveloped her too and caressed her hairs, affectionately. She had been through a lot.

Guddan hugged him as close as possible, trying to assure herself of his presence and AJ let her be. "Humein toh laga tha ki hum aapko kho denge! Hum kitna darr gaye thhe, aa..aap ko kitni chhot lagi thi..kitna khoon beh gaya tha...aap... And Guddan started hiccupping.

As she moved away, her one palm cupped his face and other caressed his chest in desperation. "Hamari toh jaan hi nikal gayi thi AJ, aapko kuch ho jata toh! Hum aapke paas rehna chahte the parr Durga ji...Durga ji ne mujhe...or vo galat bhi nhi thi, meri vajah se...meri vajah se aap maut ke itne kareeb...

Guddan moved away from AJ, scared. Her eyes kept leaking but her hands had started shivering.

"Guddan tum... AJ took a step forward when Guddan stepped back and stopped him.

"Paas mat aayie AJ! Hum aapke liye bad luck hain, aapki life par ek grahan hain...par... Guddan fell to the floor on her knees and continued, "Par hum chahkar bhi aapko nhi chhod sakte. Shayad ismein aapki bhalai hai par..par hum nhi chhod paa rahe aapko, hum kya karein kuch..kuch samajh nhi aa rha AJ!!?

As Guddan looked at him with her blank eyes, it pierced AJ's heart like never before. He had never seen Guddan so broken, so...so weak!

Stepping closer, he dropped to his knees too, and pulled her into his arms. His eyes were tearing up too. It was just too hard to see the bindaas Guddan in such a helpless state.

"What if I..I would have lost you?! Guddan spoke as he pressed her face into his shirt.

"Main theek hoon Guddan, I am fine. Dekho, tumhara uncle zinda hai...Akshat Jindal is tough, katthor as you call me, I am fine aur main yahin hoon...tumhare saath! AJ cajoled her as Guddan clenched his arms tightly and buried her face into his neck.

"Kya hum aapka khayal rakh paenge!? Kya ye humse ho payega?! She asked moving away and looking into his eyes. For assurance.

AJ looked into her eyes and nodded. The confidence she had lost, she was seeking in his confidence on her. As he cupped her face, he wiped the tears by his thumbs and spoke, "Ho payega Guddan, tumse apne uncle pati ka khayaal rakhna zaroor ho payega!

Guddan nodded, holding his hands and hugged him yet again. "I am so happy to see you! I am so hap... Guddan murmured before her eyelids started feeling heavy and soon they dropped close.

"Guddan? AJ called out as he retracted her and her body limped in his hold. Patting her cheeks, he called out to her yet again but to no avail. She had fainted!

"Vardaaannn!! Kishoreee!! Call the doctorrr!! AJ shouted, as he picked up Guddan into his arms and looked at her pale face worried.

So how's it guys? I tried my best to write Guddan's pain😭. I hope you all will feel, what i tried to feel😆

I wanted to read more n more but this was a rather short update than u usually give 🥱
