I am not a TRP expert either... but TRP TV sets are only handful... so they do not actually showcase the whole picture.
Maybe there are many who find these shows regressive and pathetic and hence stay away.
I was never an avid TV watcher but CoVid made me one.
That said, the pull factor for Ghum might have been exactly this.. they started in Covid. Captured the audience with new content amidst repeat telecasts and shows shutting down and there was some novelty for viewers.
The other aspect being P as character. How much ever the audience collectively hates her, she was established in the story even before Sai and V met or fell in love. She had immense support in CN... so call it whatever but P could work for the longest time because she had firm backing from the story and character POV.
Satya unfortunately was brought in too abruptly and his character spoiled too quickly (I personally believe it has to do with Aishs exit). The day her last episode aired was the day he started falling in love with Sai... within a span of 12 hours of their wedding and having spent the previous night crying for Grija. That's so not the true love he was supposed to have.
Now, his character doesn't have enough backing in story and Sai is not in love either. The premise to keep him as third angle is falling flat... I would still repeat like a broken record that I have nothing against Satya. To me, his entry should have been way back. Right when Sai arrived in Nagpur from KK and should have build up slowly to gain acceptance.
The wedding promo when audience were waiting for reunion pulled the plug.
Same goes with Vinu.... Vinu should have accepted Sai as his Aai on his own... not because he doesn't have an alternative with P missing. That should have happened earlier too.
Sai giving certificate of best mother to P when this is the same P and Same Vinu she left CN for doesn't make sense in any scenario.. coz it indirectly proves that CN and V was right all along. P would have been a good mother afterall... only Sai didn't see it that way... and hence she left in her impulsiveness.
That's probably one reason why surrogacy is forgotten as well. And anyone who supported Sais character throughout surrogacy and leap won't agree to this.
Anyway, what's being done is done...
V ka redemption was much awaited.... but jahan P hi galat nahi hai makers ke hisab se... vaha V kaise galat ho sakta hai?
All I want to see now is Vinu accepting Sai fully.. I don't want her to die as Dr. Auntie.
