100% agree and they actually have a golden opportunity now. Makers need to make use of this to get Virat to realise his companionship (wouldn't say love so soon) with Pakhi and probably try and give their marriage another chance. This would also pave way for Sai to move on in her life finally.

And yes the audience wants drama, but audience wants progress in story, a little progressive mindset also, empowering should also should be shown. Its 2023 almost, sad that the storyline is like early 2000's.Give us drama on hurdles probably how Pakhi wouldnt immediately agree for Virat, How Virat will repent for his mistakes with both Pakhi and Sai. Show us new hurdles in Sai's life but also please give that girl some happiness finally, bring her a new male lead, we need freshness - the first attraction, the cute nok jhoks, at the same time there can be probably be comments on how she is a single mother already etc etc...for drama purpose.

It's misconception that trp audience watch this show for a single character or ship, if that's the case they wouldn't have got trp for the weeks where most of the episodes are about virat pakhi intimate moments and their relationship conflicts.

Virat pakhi anniversary, aswini advising virat about pakhi, rose precap all are virakhi centric. Still those tracks got trp.

Not saying virakhi is loved but neither sairat too. Trp audience love drama not characters.

If there are 2 sairat scenes that too dream sequences, flashbacks from sai side then there are 6 virakhi scenes. Still people watching.

Most of the audience is for Sai now. Because she is clearly the main lead. but the moment, they officially make Pakhi the main lead, people will begin to watch the show. Yes, there might be a trp drop because the story might get boring for many, but if they bring an interesting plot, people will start watching it again.

Basically, my point is that if the audience sees the means of their entertainment they won't stop just because there isn't any particular character present. Of course, if the story truly gets boring, the trp will drop.

Its not unusual to see shows shut shop pretty quickly and suddenly. Since ghum has been running atleast 1-2 shows have been prematurely shut down.

V and P lack chemistry on screen. P lacks the acting prowess or goodwill to hold fort as a lead and for audience to watch it.

A plot is important but unlike in movies/web shows in itv - a good actor, a popular jodi can salvage a BS plot but a good plot never sustains because itv writers arent really capable of a good script. Its only broad stroke ideas but they always fall prey to itv masala and theatrics. So interesting plot on V P cant salvage show if Sai- the person whom the audience connects with is gone.
