The leap has to be stretched, because there is only so much they can show post leap. Probably another leap or a Gen Leap.
Hence, they have kept the suspense alive around the current leap. There is enough content to cover in flashback.
Also, apart from the logical aspect of the growth of their characters, it is also obvious that Sai and Virat cannot and will not come together so easily. There will be lot of drama before that happens.
This can happen only if Sai's anger is fuelled further, and this can only be done if her doubts and insecurities are further strengthened. She believes that V was only concerned about Vinu and he was not worried about her.
So, either Sai will meet Vinu and he would not recognise her but she will. And he will directly/indirectly mention P in capacity of a mother. This will hurt Sai the most, that Chavans have wiped her out of their lives completely...even her child.
Or she will not meet/recognise Vinu.
It will only be Savi meeting V and Vinu and Savi bonding. And we already have a spoiler on a possible kidnapping with the 2 kids. This might bring Sai and V face to face.
But like I said there has to be more fuel added to Sai's anger.
I'm not mentioning V, as we are yet to see his side of the story. Either it has to be both furious at each other or V living in regret trying to woo back Sai.
I will not say Sai was completely right in her decision, but she was left with not much choice in her situation. She feared for the safety of her baby and she believed that she was alone in the the battle. Finding herself alone with the entire Chavans standing against her, she became desperate. There was enough to trust P's capability to sweet talk Chavans, over Virat's words. How was she to believe P will not play her game and V will not flip again.
And V instead of giving her assurance, he threatened her with choices..dire consequences. And she chose her baby, above all.
But in all this if V has really reflected and repented, he would have realised what his anger cost him. He spoke things that he would have never even dreamt of uttering in his life. And that took everything from him. His son and his wife.
Since, Sai and his baby are presumed dead, he adopted Vinu. Vinu was not just meant as his means to fill his void, finding purpose, or providing to a helpless child and being "Mahaan". It was also, a means to apologise and make amends for his mistakes in whatever way possible. With Sai and their baby no more, he is unable to seek out his apology and punishment from them.
However, what could make him upset with Sai
1. Keeping Savi away from him - Yes. While he may take that as his punishment, it is possible that he may also get furious at Sai's "cruelty" toward him, keeping his daughter's birth a secret
But this is not the only reason
2. Savi's longing for her Baba - V may consider his part of his punishment, but he will feel Savi's longing for her Baba. Her need to have him in her life. And as a father he may not easily forgive Sai for that
And above all, we know that V was not placing Vinu above Sai. But Sai assumed it from his actions. And it is understandable. However, keeping herself away from him, and him living his life with the pain losing Sai will be another reason why he would not forgive her for. Punishing him with years of loneliness and depriving him of her companionship, will also be a reason. However, it needs to be seen if this will be addressed openly or he will be beating the bush around it.
Moor - I find your prediction and comprehension of the promo quite interesting, Chavans and Sai-Savi both waiting for V as he has moved out.
Sai was the person who made him realise the importance of his family to him. And he fought against her for the same family. Quite possibly he left his family in his desolate state. While Savi will connect him to his other half Sai, she will again bring him back to his family. Him finding his way back to them after Sai returns to his life.
But my doubts are around his own statements that how important family is, and how not to punish everyone for the mistake of one. Twisted truth - He being the one person who punished his whole family by driving away Sai & Vinu from their lives. And hence he serves his punishment staying away from them.
Who is looking after Vinu then? With V's profession and Vinu being specially abled, he would need support. And he will not let Vinu suffer for his cause. So either he is still staying in CN or lets Vinu visit CN where P is filling up for the mother figure.
Coming to Vinu being adopted. We are yet to know whether he is indeed their lost baby. If so, I feel this will not be revealed so soon. The reason being, post Sai and Virat's patch up, this could be the next plot.
Sai will never discriminate between Vinu and Savi. She will take over as his real Aai. If V has adopted him and P has no substantial role, then Sai will stake her claim..and rightly so. V adopted Vinu, hence making Sai as his Aai. But if P has helped him raise Vinu, knowing he is adopted she will not take away P's rights over him. This will not happen even if Vinu was their biological child and P "selflessly" helped in raising Vinu in her absence. But with Vinu being adopted it would only complicate situations between all three wrt Vinu.
So I see the first half being Savi centric, before moving to Vinu, where he will become the reason for clashes or complex situations.
