Sai has always been emotionally mature than V. He is too weak and impulsive that way. So he is unable to cope up.
Something else that they could have added which would have made sense is V showing guilt at being unable to save Sam and the baby. Had he reached on time, Sam would have been alive and later drama nahi hota, so effectively the baby would have been alive too. Sam ko bhul hi Gaye hai sab log. He died in vain.
This scene stands out for the same reason you mentioned but to me on the opposite side. Till this, Sai is worried and is questioning whether she is good enough for him, knowing how much he and the family members craved for a child and she won't be able to give it to them. As you said inadequate. And hence why he is keeping distance from her.
That's why she asks him to think of another woman. It is her agony and her doubt of whether he would consider that option in future if not now. It is also a pointed question to pull him out of that stupor. She knowingly asks this.
But him reassuring her that this is a ghatiya option and I want only our baby calms her.
This dialogue and the lies he told P gives me hope 😆
That even if they go for surrogacy, it won't happen due to TRP and if it's forced, SaiRat will ahve another baby.
Plus, V will selfishly discard P 🤣🤣🤣 once the baby is born.
On side note from what I have heard, most woman hide their miscarriages and do not share it with anyone else, except maybe mothers and doctors. The kind of society we live in, a woman is always blamed even if the fault lies with the man. Sharing that you had a miscarriage further puts the blame on her for being careless and stupid. Not many understand or believe biology.
It does affect mental health.
Somehow in all this, in ghum Ashwini is the only making sense. Although she did say to Sai that you can try again and you will give good news in few months, that was trying to pacify her. But once she knows the truth, she has been telling V to support Sai and asking BK to hold off for few months. Let her recover. That sounds like a woman speaking rather than a mother or MIL. Ash is the only one worried for Sai and understands her condition.
